  • it's very funhappy yesss =)))))))

  • what a sad sad song.. cool idea though!

  • My world just got a little bit brighter ^_^

  • what happened to the spray can ???

  • @TheDShape the spray can is so 1992

  • @weezerk is so 1992 reasons why this is so shit, good idea tho.... but spray is the way !!!

  • @weezerk 1992 reasons why this is SHIT !!!!

  • @TheDShape It happends

  • How long do the keep 'burning' on average?

  • @Kinneballer36 I believe they can last up to a week and a half before they completely 'die'

  • They look amazing and the music suites the video good job :)

  • wow they look pretty cool! I have to try that sometime!

  • its like step up 3 all over again

  • how do they stick? is the building metal?

  • @TheCLLNZ 1. Magnets. 2. It's ferrous metal.

  • is this illlegal?

  • @orangatang44 yep

  • never seen such a beautiful vid on youtube this is real art it touched my soul thumbs up

  • calm, haters

  • that guy must have been pissed

  • lol who would buy these this is so retarded

  • Sorry, this is only a useless waste of resources. Things are too cheap today for people who do not know how to spent their time in a useful manner.

  • every time i listen this song .......i cry...

    is wonderful!

    great choice ...

  • THUMBS UP IF YOU SAW STEP UP 3D AND REMEMBER THIS FROM THE MOVIE

  • I'm going to sound Ignorant, but this is pathetic. THIS IS NOT GRAFFITI, i repeat NOT GRAFFITI. So stop calling it that. Street art can fuck off I hate that hipster shit. Go do some throwups and tags.

Graffiti (s. graffito), meaning a drawing or scribbling on a flat surface

  • sweet

  • I'd never heard of these before, but I think they look awesome. Anything that glows is a win.

  • what song is this???

  • @siscojay

It's called Heartbeats by Jose Gonzalez

    HTH

  • haha jaka pizda chora :D

  • i just wanna know what city this video is made

  • this is so beautiful.

  • OMG I WANT THESE SO BAD XD

  • this was the first video I ever watched on youtube, way back in 2006 when it was posted. I know.... what a weird vid to watch first!

  • So when the batteries die how will you take down the throwies in high places??? jut saying...it's a cool idea but unless the magnets fall off with time (which they do not) this will be pretty permanent

  • @ISeverythingOK hey.. have you ever heard of a ladder??

  • love it you guys! you can see our throwies on our page!

  • who's gonna pic up all the batteries i wonder....

  • Nah

  • Where can I buy throwies supplies??

  • @laazybubble ebay

  • Vous avez réussis à les faire tenir comment vos Led sur le mur

  • next you have to put a small solar cell on it to charge during the day and then light at nite so it keeps going and going and going.

  • @mccunecp i tried you're idea... put the cell on it and dipped the rest in "Plastidip" to make it waterproof.... no idea if it charges though!

  • @mccunecp just like that is can last 40 days

  • it ain't graffiti.. but I liked it.

  • its art intervening a bleak grey urban exsistance

  • i like this video

  • fantastic vid thankyou

  • surely theyre not smashed about the city. surely theyre stuck to the wall you threw them at? i think its pretty. :)

  • Comment removed

  • Cool... Du hast mich weiter gefunden Tinchen!... Darf ich überhaupt das sagen?? :)

Was Du zu mir Mittwoch Abend gesagt hast schwirte auch in meinem kopf rum..

Nur leider sieht es in meinem Kopf so aus: f82TNyJ_pVw

  • honestly. gayest shit ive ever seen.

  • The batteries won't last long. Who will clean up?

  • LOL I don't mind cleaning up. Free neodymium magnets and LEDs!

  • You've got a point there!

  • wow! that's a good news! where can I find more info? tnx

  • "Free neodymium magnets and LEDs"?? you mean without batteries?

  • @superbizar the batteries are probably expended by then...

  • They last for ages! the magnet on the battery makes it last longer.

  • Just don't do this in boston, they'll call them "hoax explosive devices" and arrest you...

(if you don't know what I'm reffering to '2007 boston bomb scare')

Anyways, these things are fun to make and place... Really livens up a street corner or a run down foundry without the property destruction.

  • nice!

  • Looks like a couple of you were throwing these really hard or letting them fall and smash on the pavement, lol, why?

  • when i typed in "throwie" i was hoping to find graffiti and bubble letters and stuff :(

  • easy 2 make and u make alot ofled thowies

  • yes , but if you throw them high they won't and if you live in nyc nobody really cares enough to pull them off buildings

  • it looks really cool but led's and magnets are pretty expensive and if i saw people doing this i'd probably pick them off as soon as they left to use on my own projects :P

  • LED's aren't expensive ($0.04-$0.12 for an LED typically).

  • Get them cheaper on asian import websites

  • Definitely pointless. A throwie is your style of bubble letters done in two or more spraycan colors. This is in no way a throwie besides throwing it up at the wall. You can't write your name with these either

  • José González - Heartbeats

  • whats the name of that song

  • well this looks awesome, and its supposedly "graffiti"

And is there any point to spray can Graffiti?

  • That was beautiful.

  • What happens to all the mercury Led and heavy metals from the batteries when they rust and break down? also the non biodegradable LED silicon ? i think this is a cool effect when done in large numbers like bombing the tram, but at what cost ? who cleans that up and batteries have a lot of harmful toxins in them, where does that go ? just into the drain.

  • lol first i was attemping to look past the tape at the center of LEDs in the photo i saw... i was like "there must be a coil in the midle and another energized coil on the other side of table or wall" and then i found out they are just powered by a little old battery ... i was like " WTF !!!! "

this is the most unefficent way of using/transporting energy i have ever seen during my time !

using smallbatts for led light in large numbers is just plain wrong ! i will have nightmares tonight !

  • Hey xpez why don't u go smoke some fuckin weed u son of a whore!

  • this is soo kool!

  • Comment removed

  • 0ne day this will be in the news worldwide lol

  • that was really cool. can these be submerged in water?

  • dont put them near ur tv :P

  • I hope they live there. If I lived in a metallic house, I would trip out on the 'plinkin' sounds from outside, caused by magnetic shit being tossed one after the other at my wall.

  • lol

  • how is this not pollution?

  • because u take it in the butt

  • you looking for butt partners? not interested...

You just had to find the comment that got your ass all hot and twitchy..

u still havent figured out how to keep your disgusting habits out of everyday conversation.

  • to lead two hands from about to lead on wouldn t be good enoug to me nooo!

  • Can I throw them on to the outside of an aircraft as I'm Boarding via Steps?

  • Yes but guards would become suspicious

  • It probably wouldn't stick. The airplane is mostly aluminum. You would have to get lucky and hit a small piece of steel.

Besides, it would probably fall off as soon as the plane started to take off. I doubt it can stick in 300+ mph wind.

  • Yes, of course! Especially if some militant security-types are watching you.

  • undeniably beautiful

  • even if it is a waste of money it is awesome!

  • who sings the song?

  • Jose Gonzalez - Heartbeats

  • It's a cover of the song by The Knife.

  • I don't wonna sound like an asshole because I love LED's and lighting as much as anyone here but doesn't this seem like a bit of a waste of money to anyone else?

  • they cost bout $1 each 2 make

  • Well I love good graffiti, when it's like a neat painting, but that's a waste as well :)

Lots of stuff is a waste of money- unless you enjoy it ay-

  • yall should do my house!! it would look so cool! lol dam waste of $!!!

  • bunch of fucking trippy bastards - im compelled to like it (:^D)

  • omg first time i saw this video it was october 2006 i went to see an exhibition and at the entrance this piece of low-key music just struke me and the images simply amazed me. i never forgot this video n tried to search for it on internet for so long time n watched so many led lights show videos. 2 yrs later i watch this again! thank you so much!! i was a fresher that yr n now i m junior wow time flies

  • lolnerdrage

  • I was thinking the same thing. Not really environmentally friendly, but still kinda cool.

  • wow......you sound like your a lot of fun!

  • To OkiPanoki - LED's are pretty much cheap. It can be re-used when the battery in the throwie is used up too.

To windoes98se - I guess using resistors and soldering them into the LED would do. It'll last longer (though this is time consuming to do, this makes the LED a bit dimmer if the resistance value is high)

  • wow thats sooooo greaat!!

  • yea dude, the fuckin laser graff. that shits hella legit. THAT is graff research, and they actually have real graff artist come and do hand styles and shit

  • It be cool if they threw it on to a metal statue lol.

  • how long does one of those last :O

  • the songs name is "Heartbeats" - Jose Gonzales

  • i feel bad for all of the leds , they coud of lasted so much longer

  • what a waste of LED's darn it any way you couldnt put them to a better purpose

  • i wonder whats the name of the song?

  • Heartbeats by jose gonzales

  • thks

  • I signed up for you tube, just so i could tell you I love your video.

  • That's because this is creative. This is innovative. This is neither destructive nor illegal. This is really art! What you expected was an ignorant display of urban accomplishment.

  • obviously your the ignorant one if you cant see that real graff is ten times more innovative than this on so many levels of art physics and publicity, not to mention the full use of your right to a freedom of press and speach. your the ignorant one. this is lame. get your head out of your ass

  • it was created by some people called Graffiti Research Lab

  • hahaha yea your right, "graffiti research lab" thats an oxymoron in itself. thats not graffiti. has nothing to do with graffiti.

    graffiti |grəˈfētē|

plural noun ( sing. -to |-tō|) [treated as sing. or pl. ]

writing or drawings scribbled, scratched, or sprayed illicitly on a wall or other surface in a public place :

ex. the walls were covered with graffiti | [as adj. ] a graffiti artist.

  • search up laser tag, first video its pretty dope

  • Blinking LEDs are a little more spendy but look more impressive and let the battery last longer.

  • Ive had some one my fridge that are still on after almost a year. Does anyone know where this was filmed? was in NYC?

  • I salvage LEDs, batteries and magnets from broken electronic devices. Good for lighting up your bike.

  • that was pritty cool...

  • Jose Gonzalez - Heartbeats is te song of the video

  • What song is that?

  • how long do they last

  • as long as the battery wich is about 8-10 hours, the led's can last upto like 70,000 hours (not that u would ever use it for that long

  • some of the batteries some people i know lasted around 2 weeks.

  • I made a similair project where I would put led candles outside my house every night. Currently i've been into illuminating stopsigns by put led's into a case with batteries. And turning them on, it's more of a comunity safety feature.

    Oh yeah, Patent pending!

  • I like apples

    I like ike

  • I love these throwies but they are not a new original idea, me and my friends have been doing this in and around London for the past 5 year.

  • finest xD really nice

  • thats cool

  • haha throw them at taxis in new york from buildings

  • Sorry, I was testing to see if it really worked.

  • It is the Jose Gonzalez cover of 'Heartbeats' which was orginally done by The Knife ;)

  • whats the songs artists name thank you

  • It was on purpose, "the shadow tree of light" at 1:04 and 1:58?

  • i just wanna know how u made ur house magnetic??

  • You can't make something magnetic onless it's metel (iron Fe), there's a few complicated formulars with alot of chemicals. I think the house has metal plates on it. :)

  • pretty cool, where was this?

  • they can last up to week depending on the battery

  • 300 hours I belive

  • bet it was a bitch to pry them all back down, eh?

  • how long does it last ???

  • what song is htis?

  • josé gonzález - heartbeats

but I think it was a cover of someone else

  • The Knife were the original artists. The video for their version is equally as good as this one I think :) check it out

  • Jose Gonzales - Heartbeats

  • lighting up tha street ey?

  • how long do they last?

  • a litle less than an hour

  • that would have been fun as hell to do

  • i dont get it realy but they look cool

  • is this legal?

  • How much money did it cost all that bateries and leds?

  • It takes roughly 15 seconds and 75 cents to make a Throwie.

  • pretty cl though

  • if graffiti is turning into this im gonna kill myself.

  • if you go to the site you may understand. Its a form of art and rebellion signified with graffiti, except without permanent damage.
