Hmm....why do some trains going up the ghat have two bankers while some have three? I would think it has to do with number of coaches. I did not count but expect the Konark to have between 16-19 coaches.

Surely, it has nothing to do with power of the locos?!

Phenomenal capture but I just didn't understand one thing in the whole video: how come the Konark Express had two bankers whereas the Deccan Express didn't even have one? Is it because you don't need bankers during the run towards Mumbai?

@107rainbow you don't require bankers while going down the hill towards Mumba.

Thank you Sir. The Konark Express was climbing the ghat section of Karjat - Lonavala. That's why bankers were attached whereas the Deccan Express was descending down the ghats. So you don't require bankers.
