the calves are always SO engaging! i want to share some snippets of my vast elephant footage on your challenge.... may the african & indian elephant be saved thru all our efforts.
I love these beautiful animals. This video is great, especially because it shows the elephant in its natural habitat where they belong. Thanks for sharing!
I Think One Of The Most Unique Ways Ive Seen To Help The Elephants Is Ellie Pooh Paper! Its Paper Made Out Of Elephant Poop!! Its a good resort to using paper and The Less Trees cut down, the more land for elephants. also showing that elephants can helpthe economy shows farmers that they are useful and then they wont kill them.. I really like this idea and i think everyone should cheack it out!
wow looks so peaceful out their.. and to be along with the elephants is a perfect setting.. great to see these cool videos thanks for posting these...5/5
elephants are awesome its terrible to see or hear they are still hunted. also they are incredibly smart, ranked 2nd smartest animal behind primates and have a better memory than humans
Elephant is one of the animal I could recall when speak of Africa, and I had collect some pictures about them,It is amazing even if you just look at those creatures with there babies and friends under the blue sky of Africa through pictures. What impressed me most is one of the picture from Tippe's book, which makes me believe that if she can make friends with animal,so can the others.
so sad to see that there is a help the animal for practically every species of animal out there besides wurmz [jk], but you get the point.
I want to do stuff for all the animals and habitat but with the population so overwhelming, nothing will change untill unrepsonsible and lazy politicians can agree to work together, but first they have to want to make it work themselves..uhg
Are we that corrupt that we won't change untill it's our own lives that are in danger?
because the bible can't prove anything, it was written hundreds of years ago by a group of shepherds, and since then has been altered and manipulated numerous times - the only credibility it has is the fact that so many people have believed it for so long, but so many people can also be wrong, isn't that the case with other 'holy' books? and tell me why creation makes more sense than evolution - consider it your task to prove that creation is true, by showing every other option is incorrect
well actually you're wrong. the Bible was written by over 40 different men, including formenr kings of israel. Luke, who wrote the gospel of Luke and the Acts is considered to be one of the greatest historians to have ever lived. i believe in God because I know because is too overwhelming. if you choose not to well thats your choice and i'm gonna stop. God bless.
God does exist, but what Art says is true.there were 400 bibles.400.People are ignorant of the fact that the Catolic Church just bans things here and there, because they are afraid. The Old Testament is the one that has some truth in it,in the New Testament there is just politics, just lies. What if Jesus really was just another prophet?Do you even know the sins of christianity?Did you know that there were so many other that were regarded as Messiah,as if it was a popularity contest?I guess not
no you idiot he's afriad it's not right! That's why you can't use it!it's not reliable.Although I have to admit, I am curious as to how it all started, but creation aka the big bang theory doesn't prove god exists, it could be something else.On a totally unrelated note, you ever notice how similair Zues and god are?God uses lightning, Zues uses lightning, God has a beard, Zues has a beard, God wears a toga, Zues wears a toga, It's almost as if Zues was God in his teen years.
What?Your allowed to use the bible but I'm not allowed to use every pop culture reference on the planet. We both know that it's a commonly held belief that god uses lightning, being hit by lightning is even classified as "an act of god", as for the beard, every depiction of god I've ever seen, and I've seen plenty, depicts him with a beard, or as a ball of light, .Except in south park where they depict him as a freak. And no, I'm not reading that, I hear it's a boring read.
besides, it's the role of the believer to provide evidence for claims, not the role of the non-believer to prove its wrong, right?
imagine, for example, that i tell you that there's a pink panther in your house! now, it's my job to find it and show it to you, you would never be able to prove that it isn't there. you could clear out the whole house but it could always be hiding where you aren't looking. its impossible to prove that something doesn't exist
Elephants are so beautiful and amazingly fascinating beings. Just being in their presence is breath taking and emotionally inspiring. You have such wonderful footage, and you have captured the true meaning of "elephant"!
It all depends. Sometimes the drivers turn the jeeps off if they feel ok with the group. If it is a charging big bull elephant or a concerned mother, then of course you back up and get out of there. Or if they feel it is a bluff charge they will stay, and hold ground so the elephants don't think they can just push jeeps around all day.
@briczar22 NEVER run/drive away.. That's lesson number one when approaching elephants! And also, I saw a baby in the video, you are crazy for going so close to a mother and her baby, if the baby would have ran toward the truck, then you would've been screwed, and THAT would be a moment to run for your lives.. A mom never bluffs when her baby is in potential danger..
There is always some risk, but in this situation it is very, very slim as the guides know which elephants they can get the jeeps close to. They read their body language, as well as we didn't overstay our welcome.
@randomness72838 only when you get them agressive or if the get scared. you know this when they flap they're ears. the only way you can die is if you fuck around with them and don't have any protection around you like a car. with a car you honk the horn and they will run away with fright or back off.
@condoms180 Euhm no.. And the flapping things aren't their ears.. The ear is in front of the 'flapping thing', let's say between their eyes and their 'flapping things'.. And they use the 'flapping things' to get rid of flies that annoy them.. If they drop their head almost to the ground in combination with normal agressive movement, then they're pissed..
@laurensmalter thats what i ment dumb fuck, i lived in Botswana for 11 years so i get around enough to know what im talking about. you repeated what i said in more detail.
@condoms180 Who are you to call me a dumb fuck, I'm around an African Elephant daily.. I respect her, she respects me and that's why she never harmed me.. A truck that makes alot of noise and just drives into their territory and get's too close is a definate treat to them.. They're always pissed about it, but they won't always charge.. It's a waiting game..
@laurensmalter who said i drive super close to them, i know the facts, im not some bloody tourist. though again you assume i don't know shit when i do.
Yes, wolly mammoths were very much like a big hairy elephant. There bones are often found still to this day all around America (they also lived in Europe and Asia). The La Brea Tar Pits in L.A. have produced a ton of these mammoth bones.
Another mammoth, the columbian mammoth (sometimes called Jefferson's mammoth or the Imperial mammoth, also lived in North America. But unlike the wooly mammoth, they did not have hair and looked like really, really big Asian elephants.
Thanks for watching. I wish i had a video camera the first time i went to Africa and saw wild elephants. It was something I will never forget. Unreal to see a large herd just go past your jeep. so huge, and yet mostly peaceful and quiet amongst one another.
There are a ton of safari companies these days. I like to go to Kenya. Elephant herds are usually pretty calm with jeeps coming up to them, unless there is a big male in a bad mood.
Though there was no narration, the elephants said it all. It is so sad that South Africa is culling them again. They are such sensitive and intelligent animals, with a social order more complex than our own. The loss of a single elephant is tragic. Thanks for allowing the elephants to tell their story. Great job as always, Brian.
I felt it better to put the info in the videos description and just let the video play out like you are there. The elephant situation is sad all around.
Elephants are so beautiful and caring.I love them.Nice video =)

I'm reading a book that's set 10,000 years ago in North American history. They used to call elephants mammoths.
The picture on the front of the book is obviously an elephant, but they call it a mammoth in the story.
