Also, anyone who says that American TV is awful has never seen Buffy the Vampire Slayer or the Battlestar Galactica remake.

His name was Gary 7; The show was called "Assignment EARTH" created by Gene Roddenberry.

Gary 7 had a multi-purpose gizmo disguised as a pen, a female companion AND a time/space device that allowed him to travel anywhere... anytime.

His mission... To make sure Earth survives.

He even showed up on the Enterprise!

LOL, that's hilarious!!! Speaking as an American, I do NOT want an Americanized version of Doctor Who, I love the British version just fine. Part of the reason I was attracted to British television as a teenager was an alternative to the mediocracy being excreted by Hollywood, and I know that if there was ever an American version of our beloved timelord that they would just fuck it up. Let's hope that this never actually comes to pass!
