man, I remember playing hours 3xtreme. I liked at the time. I think today sucks. received 2.7 from GameSpot. today the only game that has not lost the essence is Metal Gear Solid 4 for PS3.

Am I the only one that really thinks that the games of today will never be as nostalgic as the ones of this era? I mean come on I cant see myself playing shit like Mass Effect 10 years later or hunting it down.

What happened to games since then? I mean back on the PS1 they had so many classics I cant even remember em I'd go off and buy like 20 nostalgic Ps1 games over one 360 game i'd just get bored of in a few days. Im still playing Final Fantasy 8 right now!!

I imagine people who started playing games in the 70's and 80's would have had the same opinion of PS1/N64 stuff as you do about current-gen stuff now. For me I started with the NES in the late 80s. The Saturn/PS1 era was a big WOW for me - as I was just starting high school and playing games constantly. I remember 3Xtreme being one of those games I just couldn't stop playing. I love games now, they just don't wow me as much anymore.

@ravenrage07 completely agree, even with PC games I remember growing up with Sam/Max, Day Of The Tentacle, Myst etc. kids today missed on the best games in the 90s esp the arrival of 3D games and how exciting it was to see how more realistic games got each year in terms of graphics, best decade for games
