this was either the first or second play of the game. this is an example of why nebraska was always a little fried on the subject of barry switzer (the river boat gambler).
to all ou fans from this nebraska fan i would like to thank you for such a great rivalry id rather lose to ou than Texas any day and i hope we never lose but from the game of the century to day loved the respect we had have for each other hope for nothing but success for you this season and many more we have had many good memories from the games and it will never be like this again please kick Texas in the mouth for us good luck go big red and go ou from the big red of the north to south cheers
Keith Jackson was the big play threat. He was the greatest offensive player of that era. And the thing of it was everyone in the stadium knew Jamielle was going to throw to Keith. Keith had his best games in the biggest games. Just like Boz.
@KCtornado2006 I remember, as a kid, watching the OU vs, Neb games get real intense, only to climax in the late third or fourth quarter to see the field get showered with oranges. You are a part of history. And, might I add, a extremely cool part of history!
i met keith jackson on saturday at the arkansas & aTm game at the texas stadium...cool dude...BOOMER SOONER...fuck everybody else...dont ask me why i was at the arkansas aTm game.
I was sitting on the 40 yard line on the east side. Jackson turned the corner right in front of us. You could see the wall of blockers and he turned the corner with speed. My buddy had bet the house on the Sooners before the game and was nervous. He went nuts....as did all other Sooner fans.
I was at this game, OU really dominated this one, there was also a 40+ run by Jamelle and the D was overpowering. NU had a bad offense Macathorne Clayton at QB i think. National Champs
Only the 80's slow Cornhuskers could give up a 88 yard td to a tight end on a reverse!!! Osborne finally started recruiting some speed in the 90's when they finally went back to back. But this was embarrassing!
Lol. The most hilarious thing about this is that Keith Jackson the commentator doing the play by play while Kieth Jackson the tight end is making the play.
55 clearly had his hand on the FRONT of that nebraska defensive player...the rule states that the hands must be on the back...you need to get your eyes checked.
It's only the finest TE reverse in the history of college football. What about Johnny Rodgers' punt return in '71? There were about five clips that weren't called. I think it's a little hypocritical to say there was a clip there with #55 when there were a shitload of clips that weren't called on that punt return 14 years earlier.
I was there! One of my favorite OU plays of all time.

We called a tight end reverse pass later in the game but it wasn't open so Keith pulled it down and made a nice gain.

I was 12 when this happened. I literally broke down in tears, being the loyal Husker fan I was. That game was an ass-kick, to say the least!
