I bring them in at night and during the day they stay in the plants most of the time. One thing the birds dont like is my sprinkler system that is on a motion sensor. It will blast them if they get to close. But high enough that the torts are fine. Plus it helps keeping the humidity up.
wow i am so impressed, you have some very lucky tortoises !! i am so inspired now to make a beautiful place for our Bella. the great thing about this is you have incorporated it into your landscape and instead of being a 'pen' or an eyesore it is a wonderful , interesting addition to your lanscape !
Nice! Thanks for making the vid, my red foot is still very young but i've been worrying about how to set up an outside enclosure and this looks beautiful.
I wouldn't keep them outdoors at all around here because of racoons at night. But this is their daytime area, and love it. I need to update this video because the irish moss is growing like crazy and everything looks so natural and great for the redfoots. But thanks for the great comment.
It looks great. I've very impressed. I just got my first redfoot a few weeks ago.
