  • my neutral face looks like sadness lol

  • who is the idiot that made this video?

  • BALD!!!

  • Excellent video, thank you!!!

  • What if they have a wonky mouth too ?

  • I think the frown on the 'anger' one was a bit overkill lol

  • there's no bloody wince

  • Actually, in fear the eyebrows are also drawn together and bottom eyelids are not relaxed as in surprise, in sad may occur that inner corners of eyes are raised, in genuine smile there are often "crows feet" wrinkels. But this is still very good vid ;)

  • Fear is incorrect!!! wrong!!!! thats not fear

  • that was interesting. and the 3d model was great too. o=]

  • I watched 14 seconds of this vid and I already like it. I love Evanescence!!! Subscribed.

  • obvius lol

  • hey if ur a girl u wann suck my dick how can i know that

  • @jg26phi That's an intriguing question. Please tell me the answer if and when you get one. (lol)

  • awesome video. thanks for making and posting it. i always felt like i know what people are really feeling, but thought i was just imagining it. after watching lie to me and doing a little bit of research i found it's actually possible to read facial expressions.

  • FaceGen :)

  • Lie To Me.

  • That wasn't contempt. That was the emotion of 'Derp".

  • Facial expressions are created by a part of the brain in the left hemisphere which means that they're displayed more prominently on the right side of the face. Dogs are the only other animal who can read human facial expressions. People who study dogs know because they glance at the right side of peoples faces when people talk to them. They have their own body language with other dogs so technically speaking dogs are bilingual. Chimps can't even do it!

  • wow - really great my friend - thx for share and the best regards from brazil - andré rossiter

  • I'm pretty sure you mean 'content'

  • @daabest1 nah contempt was right - meaning vile disdain scorn despise - cuz i do this kind of expression too ...

  • most used song on youtube -_-

  • how do you can make this faces on computer?

    do you use any software?

  • maybe it will be helpful:

    free online microexpression trainer:

    lietous.org/trainer/eng/trainer.html

  • Just me or does that head look like something taken out of Oblivion or fallout 3 xD?

  • This was pretty helpful.

  • It's funny about genuine smiles, I usually fake a smile very well. My eyes wrinkle thus it looks more genuine :D

  • Nobody can read my face.........My true emotions aren't shown on my face

  • @PurlyDiluted thats where u are wrong my friend

  • @HollywoodO141

    oh really?

the fact is I don't really know how to show on my face how I am true feeling...heh I have trouble with that.Thats why I searched this video.

It Would be interesting if you could prove me wrong.

  • I'm Autistic & can't usually read facial expressions. Buffer problem lead to Youtube slowing way down once. Watched a favorite show of mine, Cupid. Slowed WAY down, with my eyes just 2 inches from screen, COULD read expressions I can't even SEE at ALL, at normal speeds! Could even tell what they were! (I think). Is THIS what Neurotypicals see all the time!? My wiring must still be intact but not working fast enough due to very painful vision problems (photo phobia) not dealt with as baby.

  • I'd totally do that chick!

  • nice...i like u kappucino...

    can teach me also ?

and where can i buy the disc Lie To Me?

    i'm from Malaysia

  • 1:33 lol high....

  • 0:18 iz angry.... lol

  • Wow! What's the song's name? Cool!

  • @L00kFor Evanescence - Bring Me To Life

  • furthermore, the woman who sings this song is a fat chick.

  • @hetfieldguitar nah shes fit as fuck mate.

  • @L00kFor bring me to life evanesence

  • oblivion faces...

  • I wonder, why these things are so out there like anyone can do it. Most people lack the comprehension skills, brain and/or "empathy" to interpret someone's emotions and it's sources. Yes, it's now science how to tell when someone's angry or lying but I find it pathetic for many people to see themselves fit to judge someone, by pop-reflexively "studying" less than the tip of the iceberg.

  • What does it mean when some one has there eyes half opened and nostrils are flared?

  • I am currently fascinated in this area of study and hope to learn more about it.Inspired by "Lie to Me" on Fox.

  • I didn't learn anything from the video. it told me nothing. sorry.

    lietous.org/trainer/eng/trainer.html

  • :))) cool

  • Great vid sir. I have all Paul Ekman's books and I'm training myself to spot micro-expressions ect. The most interesting thing is why someone is lying.

  • @R3APER24 thx

  • Hey, I am making a strictly educational video about facial expressions and deception for friends who keep asking me to explain to them how to read people's faces. I was also thinking of uploading it here on youtube for other people to enjoy. I plan to use clips from the show Lie to Me and a few documentaries and some very convincing actors.... Is it okay if I use parts of this video? It perfectly explains the basic movements of each emotion... I'll credit you, of course!

  • @OperaNotes pm sent

  • nice vid

  • @xBLUEXSMOKEx thx

  • :[ i didnt like ur books...

  • This is awesome. I've been watching the series Lie to Me and wanted to know more about this topic.

  • @AbstractLucidity yeha me to... im just seeyng this cause of "Lie To Me"

  • whats up with this music?

  • Is this made for autistic people? I can't imagine anyone who is atleast mildly sane who doesn't recognize these expressions intuitively.

  • @kullenberg you'd be surprised.

  • @kullenberg im asuming it's more about understanding the science beind the features so you can spot the expressions when it's subtle

  • @tomasjames87 you are spot on, the reason that it's helpful to point out the specific muscle sets is because the micro-expressions flash for 1/5th of a second or less... for a lot of people this barely even registers on their perception radar if at all.

  • @kullenberg IM NOT INSANE THANK YOU VERY MUCH

  • @kullenberg These expressions are natural to me, i'm here trying to learn more, so you're wrong there too arsewipe.

  • @kullenberg when a person is trying to hide valuable information these expression can reveal them, the thing is when a person is lying or hiding something these expresion are very fast to notice so people are trained to keep track of those expressions. nobody will hold a smile like 1 hour or show fear constatly when hes nervous about something. My english is not good so i hope you get the idea.

  • @kullenberg Insanity means "dangerous to one's self and others. " I am Autistic & definitely VERY sane & in some areas VERY hyper-competent but in some areas need lots of help. Sane, normal & competent are 3 separate things and Autism is not a kind of craziness anyway. But even some Psychotics are sane & competent while some "Normals" can definitely be considered insane. For example any smoker or person who rides without seat belts counts as insane! Yes, this video is VERY helpful to me!

  • What software did you use to simulate these expressions?

  • Facegen

  • Okay. Thanks.

Great video, by the way, I've just read Emotions Revealed by Paul Ekman and this illustrates perfectly the different expressions he describes.

    Well done

  • Thanks man.

  • @whereisdaniel Facegen

  • 5 star video.

    Very informative.

  • thx
