how many games this year did carolina lead big going into half time and end up losing the game? panthers were an offensive powerhouse this past season. they were the most dangerous team with a losing record. that defense better step up next season. cam also made typicall rookie qb mistakes. throwing alot of int's but still shows much promise. a rookie playing that well, i can only imagine how he'll play once he's a veteran. panthers are going to be dangerous for a few years now.

The only problem with cam this year was some careless turnovers. Not that he had a lot considering he was a rookie but the picks he threw were just plain bad decisions. I'm positive that won't be the case next year. If we use the draft to fix our once mighty now porous d (especially rush) we'll be in the playoffs for sure and it's only a matter of time before we get a title here in the Carolinas. That'll be a great great day.

The Panthers need to go almost all defense in the draft and free agency. They pretty much need players at every defensive position. On offense they only need a few players for depth, because the starters are all set.

@NateHowl Well that's a stretch. Most pressing needs are: DT, CB, S. There are a lot players coming back from injury such as Jon Beason(Pro Bowl All Pro LB) and Thomas Davis(Dynamic LB when healthy), and Ron Edwards(Only formidable DT).

Thomas Davis has now torn his ACL three times. He's a great player but the Panthers cannot afford to hope that he stays healthy for the first time in 4 years. Insurance for Beason would also be wise, because Achilles tears are notorious for taking away a player's speed and explosiveness. That makes at least two linebackers they would be wise to acquire. They need the 3 positions you mentioned as well: S, CB, DT. The only offensive position that could really use an upgrade is WR.

@MrAUFANATIC -- I agree, but I think we need to get a good defensive lineman in the draft, if we do that then our D would be a little better, especially when we get beason back, and thomas davis, but there's a 50/50 chance davis could suffer another injury next season seeing as he has injuries every season. So either a D-lineman or a linebacker in the first round. If we draft for blackmon in the 1st round i won't be complaining he's a hell of a player.

I think as of now the offense can put up points only if the defense knew how to get off the field.They do need to go after some defensive players, but if they get Blackmon or some other skill players on offense, then its never a bad thing. Just can only hope the defense improves at the least.

This next draft should be all about defense. He can get by one more year with the weapons he has. But they will go nowhere without building an athletic defense.

I hear what you are saying. Steve does not have many years left. But the Panthers Defense is NOT a talented athletic one. Whether it's a 4-3 or 3-4 you need athletes. I do not think injury is an excuse. Beason is amazing. But overall that D does not have enough playmakers.

Who is the Panther's version of Peppers, Urlacher, Briggs, Suggs, Harrison, Willis, Woodley, etc? You need multiple playmaking defenders if you are going to keep up with Ryan and Brees. Just my opinion.

It's not just the physical tools that wow you about this guy, his football instincts are freakish as well. He could play a bunch of different positions on the field. Most QBs are QBs first and real football players second, they are almost becoming like kickers. Cam is a real football player.
