I have listened to so many times again and again, it is very beautiful!!! This is my favorite song and after this I will love it more. Thank you for this amazing performans!!!
Lovely performance and your pronunciation is perfect!Yes,your “R” doesn’t sound as if you were Serbs but when we sing in English,we don’t sound like Americans either:)Keep up the good work, and If you are interested in some more Serbian music for choir, check out “Rukoveti” (Garlands). There are 15 of them and they represent collection of folk songs, arranged by composer Mokranjac and linked together into a harmonious entity. Greetings from Serbian capital Belgrade and once again, well done!
This world is so fuc*ed up! A bunch of nice american kids singing beautiful ancient serbian song from Kosovo, while their fathers are taking away Kosovo with guns from Serbs and giving it as a present to the muslim sqiptar hords... and all that in the heart of Europe in the 21 century. That is wrong on so many levels. I hope next generations of Americans will know better! btw, great performance. The energy and your voices at the end were just magnificent.
@milanrvet I'm so glad this performance made you happy. It's wonderful to know that our music touches people from all over the world. Cheers from America.
I believe you didnt understand milanrvet aand his tears and his smile ...Arrangement you performed is old Serbian song, and being a Serb myself i wish to thank you all from my hart....
Beautiful! Very nice! How come that you're singing Serbian song? Is there any Serbs among you, or you just have heard song somewhere and you liked it?
@RechkeSRB We were singing that because our state choir competition requires we sing a song in a foreign language so our director chose this. We're all American but we have some kids with Serbian heritage.
@seeAM94 that's very nice, you could choose from whole world, and you made "Ajde Jano" as your choice :-) And I must say you sang very well, but pronunciation of "R" is so American :-) "R" in our language is sharp, yours is soft, but it didn't spoil the song and your singing. I think that is very nice gesture, way to show respect to Serbian culture and to show it to Americans. People in Serbia like when someone does something like that
PS sorry for my bad english, I hope you can understand me
@RechkeSRB I'm glad that you like it! We love to do other cultures justice with our music. Actually, your english/grammar is better than some Americans so don't feel bad about it at all. I understand you perfectly.
@RechkeSRB Yes, the "R" was one of our problems when singing this song. Our director has repeatedly told us not to really "punch" our r's because in non-Serbian songs it sounds bad, so when we sang this song we had a hard time adjusting to the sharper "r". In the end, we didn't really get it. However, I am so glad to hear that we did this song justice! This song is so beautiful, and so is your language.
@asdfasqwert spanish has very hard r (erre), like in "arriba". so it can help you also in practicing, because it is even harder and longer than serbian r.
Your teacher is a very "smart" when he chose this song and told you to sing the "forgotten" language. In Europe, this "forgotten" language actively spoken 10 times more people than the English language in New Mexico. And then you wonder why the Europeans ridiculous your Big Mac culture.
P.S. Prepare for the next competition song on "forgotten" Chinese
@soneNS77 In case you didn't notice they said "foreign" not forgotten. Big difference there buddy so maybe take a second look before you go off and make statements about the US and New Mexico since we live here and it appears you don't.

@MrPragmatic You're not American, yes? If not, I hope you know not all Americans are that way. And our young generations are much more tolerant than most before them. But thank you for the compliments. We hope we did this beautiful song justice :)
@MrPragmatic ...And what happened i Bosnia is not wrong? Please, give me a break. When your people intrude in other people, that's ok...but when same thing happens to you...that sux? Well, they said long ago: karma is a bitch, and it bites. Cheers.
@amelica77 Oh, please... You just keep watching your HRT propaganda. You know, we get to see your news in Serbia too. Not a single day goes by without your news anchors pumping you up with cheep propaganda. Point the camera at the face of a crying baby, which is, of course, sad because of the Serbs; then a close-up of a croatian flag flying in the wind, and at the end - fade to black, with a croatian anthem in the background. Pathetic...

You really did excellent performance of this song! I'm still impressed! Thanks for nice words for this song and our language
RechkeSRB 3 months ago
@TheEliminator16 Here's a trick that might help you with the sharp "r". You all know how a stereotypical Russian talks in the movies?
Well, just pretend to be a Russian commie saying "Filthy capitalist America" and you'll maybe get that "r" right :D

@asdfasqwert spanish has very hard r (erre), like in "arriba". so it can help you also in practicing, because it is even harder and longer than serbian r.
