Thank god you included Day of the Dead, my all time favorite zombie movie! And thank god you didn't include 28 Days/Weeks Later, they're great horror films but they are NOT zombie films!
originals movies are always better than remake. dawn of the dead remake sucks. day of the dead remake sucks too. but night of the living dead remake is the only one i stand. except this one (because Romero have done the script and Tom Savini is excellent). the only one i kinda like. the other Romero,s movies remake all sucks!!!

If the rezident evil films were a litle closer to that i would be thrilled! unfortunately todays producers when it comes close to a horror film even if this is based on a videogame they ruined it with corny action adventure style.They forget that they take the scenario from a survival horror game and make it like their faces.And if they respect more this traditions will be honor even romero.
@iluvfrankxmcrx I've seen it. That movie was ridiculously cheesy even if it was a 2008 or 2009 movie. The only funny but good thing that kept me watchin it was the fact that the zombies dropped everything at the sound of live music playing. In other words it sucked. Gotta stick with the classics. The only movie i know of that actually made it's worth a few years ago was shaun of the dead.
in day of the dead are those zombies ghost or or just mean or magic? and isent day of the dead aslo where one guy gets torn into 2 pieces and eaten and still has the guts to say choke on it
@left4deadsparta23 that was day of the dead where Rhodes was killed no there actually infected by a meteorite returning to earth with bacteria from night of the living dead and those are ramero's classic trilogy
I agree dude, Night of the living Dead is one hell of a classic for modern Zombie Films, Shaun of the Dead is just amazing and Daen of the dead (Remake) Its one of the best zombie films of the decade.

@CeresBimbo 28 days is totally a zombo movie. They nixed the flesh-eating, but everything else fits the criteria. Plus... it was one of the best. Besides, that's like saying left 4 dead isn't a zombie game, b/c they're all infected, not zapped by radiation from outer space. Same difference, 4 serious
@bevboynton Zombies are supposed to be UNDEAD. They are not undead in 28 days later. Zombies originate from haiti and voodoo, even those are considered to be the dead brought back to life. They ARE NOT DEAD in 28 Days later. They STARVE TO DEATH after 28 Days, thus the title. Any real zombie fan knows this.
@csnc82 Actually if we ever do have a zombie outbreak of sorts the "rage-infected" humans of 28 days later are probably the closest to zombies that we'd ever actually see or deal with because the body has to produce ATP for the cells to function (which they don't if the body is dead) It's good to have really cool A&P teachers ^_^ But either way, it can be a zombie film or a horror film or both as you said ^_^

Solid choices! Personally, I would have pinned Revenge of the Living Dead on my list. Maybe even NotLD('92), too.
Hopefully, once World War Z goes into production, I can look forward to putting that on the top spot!
