No, they're not. BB guns shoot .177 bbs. Airsoft guns shoot 6mm plastic (occasionally metal). Aside from that most of the time the mechanism is completely different. And I fail to see how you can be retarded for using the proper term.

those plastic balls are also called bb's the only difference is that the plastic ones are knows as airsoft bb's. and pellet guns use .177 , .22. and . 25 calibur. ( and copper bb's) and airsoft dont use metal other wise they wouldnt have been aprooved by the state because the states of america stated that if the gun shoots any kind of metal object it should be considered a weapon just as much as a firearm. thats why they allow bb wars because they dont consider airsoft a weapon.
