  • i had both alanis pre jagged peroid i must say i love this shit i wish she came back to pop..these song are really epic and pumped me up ..plus being a guy fuck she was a hottie and canadian!! come back alanis lol

  • Robot at 0:51 :)

  • This song is amazing. And I barely ever listen to pop music.

  • @Crazycupmuffin Sorry, I retract my previous statement. You actually were the one who called it the greatest album ever. It was @gipnfdl007 who I actually agreed with. My appologies.

  • @Crazycupmuffin and to think...I actually agreed with your comment about Jagged Little Pill not being quoted as the greatest album ever. Well NOW who is stuffing their snarky opinion?? I happen to think that the Goo Goo Dolls suck the big one. My friend dragged me to their gig here in my home town and the vacinity wasn't even filled half way. Johnny got pelted with rotten tomatoes. I thought it was pretty funny...

  • @gipnfdl007 thats right and my opinion is your a moron :) have a nice day.

  • i don't think this should be considered embarassing at all...and i don't like dance-pop...

  • So this is what she was like..... She's changed a lot!

  • This is so much better than that Jagged Little Pill shit.

  • wow she is like a fricking jumping jack on this video

  • i love how she hates herself in this time but if she didnt do this she wouldnt be where she is its a joke really who she is now, acting like she did such a bad thing. i like this song! she needs to just stfu! poppy trash? not! that was the music back then! pfft! the angry bitch? mmm hmmm that really worked for her.... at least she looks like she's having fun here!

  • This would of been great if Robin Sparkles would of had Alanis dressed in her early 90's gear for Robins video and danced with her and even had a singing part.

  • THIS is how I will always remember and love Alanis!!! Eff that alternative crap she pulled in the mid-90's. I've hated her ever since!!!! And now she's all hollywood....yuck! Sorry...just my personal opinion.

  • @nsjoemaclover actually she never liked doing this kind of music it was a way into music for her, thats all. And jagged little pill is always referred now as one of the greatest albums ever to be made, sooo.

  • @nsjoemaclover and by the way INXS suck big balls

  • WTF does she punch that fella in the face at 1:56?! Hahaha whuuut.

  • She could break it down pretty well back then!

  • She was like a white Janet, HOT,

  • kinda reminds me of a harder Paula Abdul

  • @Daffneyfan yes..........pebbles and mariha lol.

  • HA! Canada's Debbie Gibson.

  • yes, definitely her Robin Sparkles days. wow.

  • Just listen to her voice at 2:43. You can tell she's gonna go far ;)

  • Wow, she can dance!

  • one of alanis first songs,it rocks!!! id love to remix this and redo a modern version,lol...go the permed hair,lol...she got some funky moves back then...

  • Happy Birthday Alanis!!

  • I had no idea .... the very foundations of my reality have been violently shaken by this discovery

  • @LaStreisand: Everyone was once young.

  • @LaStreisand thats Funny

I disovered these CDs / song Right after i got into her in Feb, 1996

it was Different But i liked the songs.

  • the song isnt bad LOL the dancing was OD cheezy!!!

  • OML I LOVE THIS!

Haha...have to have it thanks to Corey Haim's movie "Just One Of The Girls".

    Love the 90s...

  • this is so silly. I mean she rocked it for what it is, but I love the naked long haired, "Thank You" Alanis, I've grown accustomed to.

  • wow it's alanis getting 90's hiphop funky kewl!back in tha day of roger rabbit and running man

  • Very different Alanis Morissette; from the dancing and up-tempo pop music to sitting on bar-stools with a guitar playing laid-back-slow tempo music.

I didn't know she can dance and be sassy (a fan wouldn't get that inclination by the way she appears to the public now), great maturation by the artist as one gets older.

  • I noticed something quite some time ago...

At about 2:23, notice how the music sounds a bit like Jane's Addiction "Been Caught Stealing".

    Alanis' song came first however.

  • I'm gessing this is before she discoverd Weed and LSD lol

  • omgosh.. this is so early 90's...

  • YES IT IS LOL AWESOME

  • The ghosts of Alanis's early pop music is gonna come back to get revenge on her ala "The Changeling" (1980).

  • lol she used to be like a canadian janet jackson

  • This song and "Too Hot" are the best 2 songs she ever done. Flawless pop athems

  • it was an inportant time for her she couldnt tryly express herself till madonna picked her up on her label but with out it it could not esist so she holds it dear

  • Could someone tell me what does she think about her two first albums? Would be interesting!

  • She was a young girl when her first CD came out, she didn't write the songs, the first 2 cds (or just the first one) were produced by Canadian musician Leslie Howe from the band "one 2 one" , which was an excellent band. Alanis even sings back up vocals on one of "one 2 one's" CDs. She said she doesn't really have bad memories about this period because she would have never gotten where she is without this experience. I'm pretty sure I heard her say this years ago somewhere.

  • Also, she fronted a band, "New York Fries" for a brief period of time.

  • she hides them like rosemary kennedy

  • This is still not the Alanis persona cause it has a LindaRonstadt/Cher flavour to it. This is, however, still the Michael Jackson band. He should not have gone home that night or to a bar. Alanis/Marnie Nixon still wanted to compose music so she did it without him. It definitely had the MJ flavour in there. It is like France Gall. She was hanging around David Bowie and when she composed the song, "regret" ...or regresse...whatever...the audience can feel the David Bowie influence.

  • Holy shit, I remember seeing this video on Dan Gallagher's Video Hits on CBC back in 1992! Any other Canadians out there remember Dan Gallagher, big fat guy who did the half-hour video show? I just checked his bio and apparently he died back in 2001 - RIP Dan.

I was 14 at the time and I remember thinking Alanis was sooo hot! She was a lot of fun to watch back then, and it's amazing how she re-invented herself a few years later.

  • almost forget she did this stuff, and it was way more fun to watch.

After this, she was almost depressing to watch.

  • she was much better after this- a serious artist and had if not been for that she would have never made it.

  • Apples & oranges.

  • Yeah she is hot when she washes her hair

  • I wonder if she'll ever perform this song and "Too Hot" with the dance choreograhy

  • That would be kinda cool...but what'd probably happen would be an acoustic version, or a spoof like she did with "My Humps".

  • Sorry to disappoint, but Alanis had a serious bout of bulimia while trying to lose excess amounts of weight for promoting her debut album. This was due to her record company's "hardcore" pressuring, as Alanis had put it once in an interview, and although you see a slick and skinny Alanis in her early music vids, she was fighting a lot of pain inside that would influence her later music like Jagged Little Pill. However, Alanis does tend to perform her old songs, but only in an acoustic fashion.

  • she reminds me alot of janet during this period

  • thank god she left the dance pop scene

  • I prefer her music now, but I think she did this stuff to gain a record deal, she moved away from being so commercial and her music really took off.

But I love the dance moves!!!!

  • It's like, she let go of the dancing to really free her voice ....lol ;D

  • i never knew that alanis could funky dance it up wow man i do miss thoses days of funky dance moves!

  • This makes me smile for some reason. Especially seeing her dance. It's just so weird!

  • @elvickRULES She loves dancing. She also loves sex and has had lots of it with lots of guys. Just listen to her on Howard Stern.

  • this is soooooo 90s! love it!

  • alanis gives me strong wood yehh!!!

  • This song good, I have to admit, I love it, but I would put on her stuff now alot quicker than this, but still if I was growing up in Canada, no doubt I would have had those first two albums

  • omg poor Alanis :)

  • merci,super!

  • hmmm...Alanis...pop star? I like the current one better

  • "Right from the bottom of your heart to your hands." I can so relate to this song!

  • old alanis makes me happy

  • Me too.

  • In a parallel universe, Alanis is a famous pop star.

  • haha :D

  • at this time in her life she was just following the fad of the time and later she found what she was looking for in her hart and it is so east to tell by watching her live

  • Oreceo i see that you're one of those "she/he/they overgrew their music", don't worry, you're not alone in the world, there are ALOT of you "grown up" :-) souls in the world, well i like music as it is and even if it's plastic this music sooths my ear waaaay more than the new "grown" music which is unmelodic, irritating and poor produced, period.

  • ow can you say that about her ne music? Have you heard "uninvited" or "Not as We" or for something more pop Straitjacket?

  • It's "right from the bottom of your heart to your hands." I used to own this CD before she came out with Jagged Little Pill.

  • The HAIR ROCKS!

  • I didn't know this talent of alanis,

    I liked so

  • i sooooooooo agree!!!!

  • she should do one more dance cd

  • Shut up you fool, go and listen to your Nirvana bull***t and live the REAL music alone!

  • Woah, chillax comrade. I don't think they really meant it as an insult to Alanis. I adore her. But I don't really the material of a kid and a bunch of producers constitutes as "real" music... Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie, that's real music!

  • My God I loved this song, still do. I have this Cd. I kinda wish she would make dance music again.

  • fantastic

  • love this song and video. thanks

  • LMAO!!!! at 3.27 "loooooove" and the guys big chest boucning!!! hahahha, Soooo cheesy!!!

  • 1.46 hahaha crapy dancing

  • Comment removed

  • I have them but I'm not Canadian and I don't know how to rip them. Sorry! :(

  • Can we wipe your ass for you too? Try Ebay.

  • can someone please post the remixes for this song

  • Straight Up now tell me!

    This is so early 90's

I Also like Alanis's older sister....

    Paula Abdul

  • ok, que comentario comparativo que ralla en lo absurdo

  • hahahahahaha... paula???

  • can you all imagine if her career went into this direction...my gosh..in this era she looked sooo much older than ever in the 90's.. and now.

  • i'm glad her career didn't go in this direction but i think she still would have been ace ;)

  • Ha....how crazy is this!!!

  • Paula

  • i really like this, but i preffer the Alanis of my era = )

  • this is soooooo 90s! love it!

  • omg:D:D:D

  • the shirtless guy in this video...all i can say is MMMMMMMMMMMM!

  • LOOK THAT HAIR!!

  • she is so Janet Jackson looking in her outfit but PRE Britney

  • I like the pop Alanis but I like all Alanis. Just another side of her,the one that went along with what the producers wanted, now she does what she wants...a sign of growth.

  • Yes, the music she does now is art!

    What a fascinating person.

But somehow I like this poppy trash! xD

  • As Mary Stuart Masterson put it in "Some Kind of Wonderful"....

    RAT BABE!

But, seriously, I don't know why everyone rags on 80's Alanis. Until I heard this, I always thought she was a horse-faced harpy with an annoying voice. Now I know she's actually semi-decent.

Besides, she got drilled by Joey Tribbiani. That's gotta count for something.

  • this is early 90's alanis not 80's :-P its cheesey but i like it over all

  • You guys are kidding, right? This is TERRIBLE! Thank goodness her music became so much better than this garbage.

  • i will say this...no it is not her best...but she is 16 here and u have to start some where

  • WOW!

  • How old was she?

  • 16 or 17

  • 16 years old

  • Yeah, She's so PERFECT now...But her pop/dance era it wasn't bad

  • You go Alanis! Lovin' it!

  • i never knew she could be so sexy hahah and she can actley dance good

  • If I had known about her back then. I would probably have been a fan. Paula Abdul and Janet style ;0)

  • goood old early nineties...love'em :)

  • another great vid Thanks!!! I miss those years...oh well!!

  • I used to like Alanis when she made these type of songs. Some are ok she makes now but this was just more fun to listen to.

  • She use to make pop trash now she makes art.

  • this is fuchin' hilarious! alanis rocks!
