Sorry, I forgot the "easy install" link was there, I removed as it's pointless to install it these days. It was just meant as a EFL demo by that time, but nowadays we have much better demos and even real applications like Canola.

I don't do the packages, often use from sources. We used to have demo packages, but in the hurry to release canola packages, we dropped them due lack of time.

I have debs for N800, check the URL in my blog (see description of this video, I can't post URLs in comments), but nothing for your PC, sorry.

It's a demo of our UI infrastructure, so it's more a developer thing although it looks cool :-) You don't have any cursor or scrollbar support, you can't use this with other apps, etc... as I said, a demo.

No, I said that on my blog entry that shows this.

this is a demo of our UI infrastructure, not meant to be a full product... we couldn't have a product that looks so much as Apple's version.

Anyway, these features are not hard, as the UI is not.

Also, bear in mind that N800 screen is way bigger than iPhone (and I use in the horizontal orientation), thus keys are much larger and spaced, making easier to type and less errors are done. :-)

You used the EFL (e17 libs), and coded the application in Edje ? So it could run on any platform using e17 without recompiling ?

Tristramg: exactly! Actually, some of it is done in python, like translate/map and forward input chars to text area. So you just need e17 libs and python bindings (under CVS e17/proto/python-efl, be sure to read README of each package!)

That's the magic, I develop everything on my PC, then copy files to my N800 and it works like a charm, no scratchbox or cross compiler tools are required.
