We've just heart from Nomi Lyonns, Vancouver cabaret artist, who has included the song in her live show "Cabaret Confessions of an Eco-Diva" - after making some slight local adaptations. If anyone has a vid of that, or has seen it, please post a link here!
@ASHaustralia Sorry, bit ahead of ourselves, the Eco-diva show hasn't been on yet, and it's in Hollywood! Runs March 22-25 at Macha Theatre, West Hollywood Calif. Details are at eco-diva-dot-com. And they said we'd never make it to Hollywood!
Congratulations to Julia Gillard, Prime Minister of Australia for FINALLY taking action on AGW. She needs to get a LOT of tougher and classify AGW-inaction and denialism as a terrorist threat against national security, and throw these deniers into prison for life for trying to subvert efforts to maintain civilization.
Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) deniers = Holocaust deniers = evolution deniers = 100X worse than child molestors. They are all guilty of crimes against humanity and a threat to national and international security. Throw them in prison for life.
And take away all their food and clean water, just like they enjoy forcing on everyone else.
What's wrong with me? I SWEAR I left high praise here before!
Oh well - SUPER job, fellows!
I got angry today when I saw some vicious attacks upon one of Australia's courageous leaders who heroically has implemented an anti-pollution tax. (I don't remember her name,
just that she has red hair, because I didn't want to get enraged more by reading too deeply.)
Australians should be proud for taking this first step!
@nahaymath you don't want to read more into or you'll get mad? maybe you should read more and control you're emotions. If not you're probably just going to be a stupid sheep. Deception happens on both sides.
@nahaymath That's Julia Gillard, our Prime Minister. They dithered around for years but eventually got it done and credit to them for that. Much more is needed, especially by countries in economic position to do it.
9 dislikes? Monckton the scientist. Monckton the political advisor. Monckton the inventor. Monckton the pharmacologist and nobel prize winning curer of HIV. Monckton the journalist. Monckton the artist. Monckton the politician. Monckton the aristocrat. Monckton the bug-eyed idiot who mistakenly stuck the pinnichio vaccine in his eyes.
Bob...thanks for that. However what makes you think it refers to Monckton? It could be any Viscount! Its whats called poetic licence.."Architects degree" scans better! cheers
great song guys but btw monkton's degree is in classics not archietecture and if you can't get your facts right about that you obviously know nothing about climate science.....lol
@bobpeckham Actually, gee, you're right! One minor pedantic inaccuracy does demolish an entire work - like the one doubtful projection on Himalayan melting that completely invalidates all that meticulous work by thousands of scientists on the IPCC climate report. All you need now is a "coverup scandal" - suggest you get some of our em ails leaked, quote bits of them out of context, beat them up like hell and Voila! Architect-gate!! Yee-hah!!!
@TheElasticJesusRez Thanks, love that one. Bizarre how the deniers jump onto solar activity when it's stayed fairly level for the past 40 years while temperature and CO2 have risen sharply. Might we humbly suggest that with that voice it might be best if you don't give up the Day Job! Not that we're in any position to judge...
Amazing song! Super funny lyrics, lovely tune & of course so very relevant! Will spread this around, hope you get lots of attention because of it, would be great to play this song for a convention of climate scientists! They'd get a kick out of it for sure.
@MirikSmit Glad you like it, Mirik - we hope others will play it live at suitable gatherings - substituting suitable local deniers' names for Australia's Tony Abbott.
@MirikSmit We're playing it on May 7 at a Climate Change Action Network conference in Sydney, and (TBC) at a screening of short enviro films. It continues to be popular at our music venue gigs - we played it at Sydney's prestigious Basement recently.
If one is trapped in the U.S. empire but lucky enough to not have any high-profile local cranks, there are plenty of national substitutes that would fit the meter of the lyrics:
"I go with the Tea Party; it's just a load of crap."
Oh look everyone, it's the Clone Clown. Are you going to bring your army of sock puppets here? Do they all know the denial tango? I'll bet they do, because it's part of the Koch Brothers' training seminar for all good lackeys.
@MockNobes Hey, was that a heckle? We love getting heckled. Makes us feel young again. The "shed" was a really friendly little pub - so what were you expecting, Carnegie Hall?
@mphello Thanks mate - nice work from our friends Andrew on the PA and Bill & Elaine on the cameras getting nice clear sound from a small PA in a smallish room. You do have to be careful with the funnies that people can actually hear them!
@TheElasticJesusRez Yes, jet-setting denialist Lord Monckton recently did that in one of his addresses, in response to Australian Prof Garnaut's report to the govt on global warming evidence. They say once you call your opponents Nazis you've lost the argumebnt, well he's lost it bigtime.
I contacted the BBC a couple of months ago, with the hope of getting his Lordshit on Question Time - a British current affairs programme where 5/6 opposing politicians/pundits discuss the political topic of the day.
Alas they never responded, which to be honest was no real surprise, since even the most hardened Conservatives over here regard him as a joke.
@andomedean : Glad you like it, we get good reax from audiences to it. But occasionally someone looks a bit self-conscious and we say "Well, if the ice-cap fits, wear it quickly while you still can!"
Men with Day Jobs this is brilliant. If anyone doubts that these lyrics are based on truth, read the book 'Merchants of Doubt' by Naomi Oreskes and Erik M Conway.
@LukeyGreg Thanks, yes that's a very interesting book. Shows tobacco co Philip Morris were in on the ground floor of the whole movement to undermine science and protect vested interests that came to include climate denial.
Thanks - yes, deniers do make an easy target. They put forward all kinds of wild conspiracy theories but there's a very real and well-documented conspiracy between polluters and others (e.g. tobacco companies) to undermine science and heavy governments. We just have to look at the independent evidence and expect our governments to act in genuine public interest. Cheers!

@ASHaustralia I'd agree. Problem is, these subhumans would think listening to Monckton's lectures was heaven.
