and the Dolphins (despite now being 9-2) didn't win another game the rest of the season and didn't make the playoffs. The Cowboys however went on to defeat the Bills a second consecutive time in SB28
Out of all the good times I've had with my family & friends on Thanksgiving, amongst all the great stories and great meals, this is the preeminent moment that comes to mind when I think of thanksgiving. I almost died of laughter.
Remember guys the Cowboys had the last laugh. The Dolphins went 9-2 after that game and at the end of the season went 9-7 and MISSED the playoffs. The Cowboys won ALL of the their games and the SUPER BOWL! So this really was the best thing that happened to them. For Leon, in the Super Bowl he caused a Thurman Thomas fumble that got returned for a touchdown that tied the game at 13 and the Cowboys would win 30-13. So in the end this was the best thing that happened to the Cowboys.
I want to get a Cowboys jersey made with LETT NOOOO on the back. :-) WTF was he thinking? Two of the Cowboys were even waving their arms as if to say, Do. Not. Touch. It. And still he slid in there.
Who was Miami's QB in this game? I think Marino may have been out with an achilles injury. I thought the QB was #17 for some reason-- Steve DeBerg maybe?
They just replayed it before the game on pre-game show. Leon Lett came out and reminisced on this. Can't believe it's been 18 years. You gotta love the football on thanksgiving day.
As a Bills fan, I was rooting for the Cowboys...cause the Marino-less Dolphins were just one game off the Bills for the division lead and currently had the tiebreaker vs. the Bills. This game caused nightmares for me all thanksgiving long.
I'm looking at this video before the game tomorrow on Thanksgiving between these same 2 teams.
The NFL seems to have a thing for this particular matchup on Thanksgiving, which tomorrow believe it or not will be the 3rd one since the eventful '93 game (they also played in '99 and '03).
It makes me think of how these 2 teams have been household names since back in the day. When I hear about these 2 teams in the same sentence, I think of Jimmy Johnson...and CHEERLEADERS!
Just Remember that was the last game the Cowboys lost that year as they won the SB, Think the Dolphins would switch?, this is they're only highlight on the last Twenty years.
If the Cowboys did not win the Super Bowl, nobody would be laughing about this today. But, it's funny to see Jerry Jones sad after he screwed Tom Landry.
The funny thing: the Cowboys would not lose again this season...and this was the last game that the Dolphins would win that season (they lost 5 straight to finish 9-7).
Of course. Ed Hochuli WOULD have been doing this game.

Hoculi can be annoying at times, but in situations like this I like that he carefully lets the fans know exactly what the rule is.

I was a happy Dolphins fan that day, but the Cowboys & their fans got the last laugh:
This was the Dolphins last win of the year, they missed the playoffs.
The Cowboys didn't lose again and won the Super Bowl.
In any event, I love Bad Weather Football.
