The hilarious part of this video is that a year later, Bear Stearns went bust, so the woman in the video was probally without a job one year later. Also, after the GFC, the financial analyst career outlook is fairly bleak
Investing? Can we cut the crap and just call it what it is. A crooked rigged CASINO pretending to be legitimate. The only "skills" needed for this "job" is to be able to lie and lose money for people well by siphoning it off to the rich pigs who control the casino.....
Im interested in becoming a financial analyst but Ive read some mixed opinions about this career. Some say that working as a financial analyst is a thankless job where taking vacations is frowned upon where you are required to work 12-15 hours a day and that you should expect to lose your job a few times because it is unstable. Can anybody out there who is actually a financial analyst give me better insight into what its like working in this industry?
Hi. I have an M.B.A. and I am currently going for C.F.A. designation. I would highly recommend you to take this step. This will be more intense, in my opinion, to what you have learned in school. Unlike a college degree, the C.F.A. designation has a worldwide recognition.
canadian securites is godo and ez, the cfa is nothing like it.. some stuff is easy but cfa is realyl godo to start.. try to get a scholarship for CFA.. u only pay 231 (tax in, U$D) is what u pay if you get sponsored.
the CSC is like a table of contents when compared to the CFA program. you can easily pass the CSC with 1-2 weeks of hard studying. the practice questions are very similar to the actual exam. this is not the case for the CFA. you have to become an absolute expert to pass any level.
i suggest doing the CSC as a warm up first. you are actually permitted to take level 1 of the CFA in your senior year. if you plan on passing it will be very hectic. it will be like taking any extra 3 or 4 courses.
I'm taking my first csc course soon, then after that the handbook, and i should be done my dipoma in finance this year. just got hired at a prop trading firm. I already have 2 years work exp which is needed, plus a diploma, to exit out of the CFA. I'm 21.. should I get more exp or can I just jump in and the CFA program?
Shouldn't the female analyst at the beginning now being saying 'Hi Steve, this is XXX calling from JPMorgan...' that is if she still has her job and not invested her entire life saving into BSC shares @170
"I expect the NASDAQ to hit 6000 within 12 to 18 months". -Ralph Acampora, Prudential's chief technical analyst in a comment to USA Today on March 10, 2000.
Thanks for explaining this 'ever more complicated' market and simplifying it.

Finance seem confusing and non-constant, but it also seem fun.
I'll be sure to have my foot in the door in another sector tho!
