i absoloutly love this dvd but no matter how many times i watch and listen to this dvd i cant get over the fact that the unforgiven wasnt given the s&m treatment :( am i the only who thinks this? or is there a part im missing?
for all the heroes in the world who make us better people for having known them...thanks to buck for introducing me to this band & appreciating them so much. more than just "heavy metal"...a band with depth of soul, like you;)..no wonder you revere them. their lyrics go deep to the gut & pierce the soul..leastwise mine anywayz! as for james' voice, well just forget about it;)..he rocks my world mo brea & makes my soul bleed, you know that! rock on metal (& symphony) heads! xo jillytallicakidd~
I Love the whole album, the orchestral accompaniment and more depth to every song. Michael Kamen wrote all of the orchestral music. RIP Michael Kamen, to bad he passed away in 2003.
It's because of that, that I prefer the songs from the albums previous to the load sessions in their original form. Because they were pretty much flawless as they were.
Load & Re-Load needed some extra work, and this symphony did a great job at fleshing them out better and giving them a whole new sound.
I can't speak for others as to why they like Metallica, but me, I like them because they strike a good balance between insanely intricate and difficult riffs like Megadeth (who in this aspect is slightly better) and artistically interesting melodies that even the layman without a trained ear can enjoy.
That and the fact that they're a very strong, testosterone-charged band, that have a mature approach to tapping into anger there's no other band that compares without seeming comparatively EMO.

why are metallica so fucking ignorant? they think its the greatest band in the world Psh... sure as hell not! but they are pretty good they just come out with the same old shiet i heard in the 90's

I really think the San Fransisco Symphony made the songs from the Load sessions WAAAAY better, the earlier songs are great, but the symphony took the load session songs from ok/good to great as well.
I would love to see Bleeding Me and The Outlaw Torn... IMO they were the two most improved upon songs. Outlaw Torn turned from bleh to badass because of this symphony.
