  • I was diagnosed with ADD. I like to say that I have a surplus of attention on things that others find irrelevant.

  • Does anyone know of a comedian who was talking about ADHD and said " Back then you didn't need to take medication for adhd, all my dad did was this, HEY!! Pay attention."

  • you can't be funny without having adhd

  • I look at it as awesome dancer (on) drugs and for ADHD I look at it as awesome dancer hugging dinosaurs I'm also lexdysic ( dyslexic) I like that people with 'disabilities' can make fun of themselves while most of society makes it look like were nobody and worthless and that we can function just because of it well I've got somethin to say to those people I have ADHD and I'm mildly dyslexic and I'm in 8th and I'm one of the top ten smartest kids in my school and I take 10th grade math boots in y

  • I have ADHD and I used to drive my kindergarden teacher insane she hated me and I hated her all my teachers just tell at me or they would have you do laps around the school or jumping jacks or something

  • This is brilliant and hilarious! Thank you so much for doing a stand-up comedy on ADHD that manages to be laugh-out-loud funny without insulting people with the disorder, denying that it exists (when we ALL know that it does), or resorting to the overused jokes such as, "I have attention deficit hyperacti- oh, look a squirrel!" or "I forgot to take my Ritalin because I wasn't paying attention."

  • I have Alzhei- what am I doing here?

  • actually that's an interesting remedy and apparently effective.

  • Funny because before my diagnosis that is exactly what my teacher used to do, just open the doors and let me loose.

  • ADD= absent dad disorder

  • @moonwalker794 lol

  • That was hillarious!! I wish I could get some more of that!!! I have ADD...I constantly feel like I'm saying "Oh bother..." or "Think, think, think, now were did I place that honey..." My mind is in a fog and can be annoying, yet funny too at times.

  • I have ADOWDTBD

Attention Defec-ooooh what does this button do?

  • I have ADHLAS.

Attention deficit- hey look a squirrel!

  • I'm 45 and take ritalin for adhd. It can be fun!! LOL

  • @BasementDweller09

I've never taken the medicine; mind telling me what it's like?

  • Anyone that says adhd is a personality trait need to fuck off...

Seriously how the fuck can you tell someone WITH the disorder it's not real?

And even if it's not, I'll continue taking whatever ever medication to make me like everyone else.

  • I had AD&D as a kid, but I think that was different....

  • @wesh67300

Don't make assumptions unless you actually know what you are talking about. Since you apparently don't have it, I'd like for you to: A.) Take into consideration that 15% of the people in the WORLD have ADHD. Americans aren't the only one with this condition.

B.) Take into consideration that, since you don't have ADHD, you can't comprehend the

multitude of thoughts going through an ADHD child's head at once. It's pretty insulting to have someone disclaim what I and millions of other p

  • adhd isnt even a condition. kids are active. God made them that way. Actually evolution did, so that they are as curious and as eager to learn as possible. Only americans have such widespread adhd. Thats because your scale for hyperactivity is messed up. You guys eat a pill everytime something is wrong. THEYRE KIDS, THEY RUN AROUND AND FUCK SHIT UP, THEY ALWAYS HAVE

  • @downtoawhisper

ADHD isn't a problem, it's a medical condition. And pills aren't the work of Satan, they are the products of doctors who only want to help people with ADHD.

  • If you want to be set free from whatever ails you (whether it be ADHD, depression, anxiety etc), don't take pills. That's what satan wants you to do..he wants you to become a slave to the pills and rely on them to "fix" you. The truth is that these pills will not fix you. The only thing that will is if you repent from your sins and put your trust in Jesus to be saved from Hell! Jesus is the only one who can heal us from all sin. Satan wants you to trust in pills, but you need to trust in Jesus.

  • @downtoawhisper If you actually had ADHD you'd know that what you are saying is BS. My teachers would agree since I was on the honor roll and finished three Kurt Vonnegut books without once getting antsy.

  • @HetLedie

My mother thought that I did have ADD when I was younger. She never got me tested, but I'm glad that she didn't waste the time or money on doing so because the only problem that I had was that I was not disciplined well enough, and that I needed to repent and trust in Jesus so that I could be set free from my sins. Jesus is the only fix to our problems...now that I am on the other side and not immersed in my sin, I can see clearly to understand this. I pray that you can too.

  • @downtoawhisper AHAHAHAHA! This made my day. -.-; idiot.

  • @downtoawhisper- thats ridculous! I do trust in Jesus, these "sin pills" fix the part of the brain that does not function properly, thats it. it deals with attention anf focus. "trusting in pills"?, most people do not trust these pills with their eternal fate. they help someone who has real issues with being able to focus on one task at a time. obviously you do not have the disorder or you would not be saying such nonsense. people who view medicne like that get on my nerves.

  • You may be right about that one--it IS the additives we're consuming!!! and since we're no longer 'agarian' (since the 1970s) this is what we're left with for our boys--they cannot expend the energy and don't sit in seat well

  • I have ADHD & this made me LMAO. :p

  • I have ADHD, without my pills, I get very sleepy

  • Have any of you actually done any real research on this subject? How many books have you read? How many people have you talked to? By the way, who chooses to have a learning disorder? Yes, a lacking diet and inadequate education are a big part of the problem, but inattention and hyperactivity are not the only affects. As an ADHD person I struggle in ways few people conprehend. I agree that ADHD is probably overdiagnosed but it should not be ignored.

  • i have read recently that fish oils and other such supplements help ppl tremendously who are bothered by lack of concentration and other types of issues. If you are ok with yourself then don't worry about it!

  • what people did with hyperactive kids years ago, was to send them out to do farm chores at 5am and spends his energy it was a very positive thing--since the energy wasn't used up = he's jumpy---ADHD isnt a disease, it's human energy, unfortunantly it's wasted today, and kids are on dope to sit still

  • @49jubilee My 9 year old son has ADHD and you are WRONG. ADHD has become such a huge issue for our children becasue of the crap we are consuming, additives, preservatives etc. You never heard of ADHD years ago. But I can guartanee you my childs first 4 teachers will tell you the world of difference in my child after he was diagnosed and treated properly for the condition. He is now able to focus and not get into trouble and he is NOT a zombie!

  • In my class, there was a kid who had ADHD. He took the drugs prescribed by his doctor, and since then, he feels better with himself, since he gets 80% - 90% average, instead of his usual 30% - 50%. ADHD is real for the kid, for the parents, for the teacher and the other students in his class. Debating if ADHD is a real mental disfunction is irrelevant, i leave that for the PhD's. I just care if it's a real problem for the kid, and best way i can make him learn and feel better about himself.

  • why does it need to be specified that he is christian

  • haha its funny when peaple make fun of adhd cus i understand the humor cus im hiper and having adhd dossent bother me ( : hehe keep up the funny stuff

  • @halldor7913

You don't have ADHD because it doesn't exist.

If you seriously believe that a combination of certain natural personality traits and behaviors is a "mental illness" that you need to take amphetamines for, let me be the one to call you a fucking idiot.

  • @JenkemBOMBS u know what let ME call YOU an idiot you fucking numb brains i have adhd and it DOES EXIST you fucking idiot fuck sucking shithead if it dossent exist than why did all my symtoms go away when i started taking medicine idiot. if you dont have any proof that it dossent exist than just shut the fuck up

  • @halldor7913

If you don't have any proof or evidence that shows ADHD exists and is a real mental illness, THEN SHOW ME IT OR STFU. Because there simply is no evidence at all that proves its real.

IT WAS IMAGINED AND VOTED INTO EXISTENCE FOR PROFIT. ITS DOESNT EXIST.

Your "symptoms" "go away" because those "symptoms" are your personality traits, and when you take amphetamines, YOU FEEL GOOD, MORE FOCUSED, MORE ENERGY. BECAUSE YOUR ON A ADDICTIVE DRUG THAT IS UPPING YOUR DOPAMINE DUMBASS.

  • @JenkemBOMBS belive what you want just dont come crying to me when you get aids

  • er is emergency room for all yoir whiney aches pains and complaints. that is er type. sometimes hatd truth hurts but makes better. did for me. now u can use this to better yoirself or just be offended. luv ya or wouldnt tell ya my story. and yes i got my butt whooped for bad behavior and disrespect. never for bad grades. my wife laughs at me the way i study. mostly it was her reading the stuff to me and making me do it.

  • not beaten but behavior is controlable. took time but worked. just one day i put a whole in the wall at school after getting in trouble again and had a heart to heart with Jesus and my dad. all the discipline caught up with me and i got it. no meds. just behavior control. two minutes than bordom still exists. racing thoughts exist but now i pick em. so dont preach BS to me. been there done it and defeated it. thank God. u can keep yours N whine. boohoo.

  • I have ADHD, but i got colorful meds for that.

  • Yea Jeff! You can use your comedy to give some insight into how the ADHD student feels.

You also get to give that abusive teacher who slammed you against a locker and head-butted you some of the embarrassment she deserves!

  • Sorry but what's ADHD

  • Omg, love this guy !

  • I have Adult ADD!!! Best crutch ever!!!

  • my brother has adhd!!

  • I'm certain that if I had ever talked to a doctor about the way I behaved and learned as a child I would have been diagnosed with ADHD. I'm so glad I never saw a doc. I had patient teachers who encouraged my creativity and enthusiasm and helped me learn to focus when it was important to.

I don't doubt that ADHD is a real condition, but I think it should be extraordinarily rare to prescribe medication for it. ADHD is the tonsil removal of our generation.

  • Funny...but ADHD isn't a real disease.

  • @gaaralee1234 It isn't a disease but a set of circumstances.

I work with children who have it and it isn't exactly the same in every child.

There are degree's of the symptoms. Kinda like faulty wiring in my opinion.

Some have it very bad, while other children have milder symptoms, but the symptoms are a very common thread and easy to see if you ever spend a long enough time with these children.

ADHD people are also the some of the most CREATIVE and intelligent people out there. It IS real.

  • @gaaralee1234 ADHD is a real, neurological, serious disorder. There is proof of that. Learn the facts before basing such an opinion on such an awful disorder.

  • @MyLifeMyEverything92 No it is not.

A few years ago it was classified as: a kid who won't pay attention in class because his parents neglect him. Now we cram pills down his throat.

  • @gaaralee1234 lol, I'm not arguing with some self centred, stuck up, "know it all". I know the facts, I have this disorder, and it does affect my life severely. Grow up. & also, to presume it is a "he" who suffers from ADHD is very stereotypical as well. Learn more facts, darling. I'm no longer continuing this conversation with such people. Pathetic.

  • You know me from two comments I said. I am not self centered, never did I even imply that. I do not 'know it all' no one does. I'm not better than you're average guy either.

And that truly explains it, only people who have ADHD believe in it because the doctor keeps giving you pills, insisting 'you have a neurological disorder'.

And, I have learned fact I am always prepared to back up my arguments

Show me the difference between a person with ADHD and someone who won't sit still or shut up.

  • @gaaralee1234 lol, I'm not on pills thanks. There is a difference between the two. Someone with ADHD has symptoms that impair their life to a severe degree, hence being diagnosed. & Those symptoms are not all about someone who is restless or an excessive talker. Another sterotype right there. If you don't believe in it, fine, but people do suffer from this disorder & it does affect their lives & just because you don't believe in it, doesn't mean it isn't real.

  • You seem like a sensible person (I don't take the insults personally, we all knee jerk like that sometimes)

And you are right, just because I don't believe in it doesn't make it not real. But essentially those are the symptoms: restless and an excessive talker. So basically everyone has this disease, some just more extreme than others. And that's why I don't believe in it really it's something made up. I wish they could just call it what it is: this kid won't stop, so we gave him some pills.

  • @gaaralee1234 Restlessness and excessive talking are not the only symptoms. There are three types of ADHD. Inattentive type, hyperactive/impulsive type & combined type (where you suffer from both of the former types of ADHD) - These symptoms affect the persons life to a degree where they can not function properly. I would suggest looking up ADHD symptoms & you'd see that it's not just those two things, it's MANY symptoms that affect someone who suffers from ADHD. I'm not gonna debate, but yeah.

  • @gaaralee1234

ADHD involves not being able to filter out noise in a conversation or a loud environment, it has something to do with sound, which is very dangerous because we tend to rely on sound for balance.

the human body relies on equalibrium to function properly, if our functioning is erratic then it's not just something that YOU can decide if it's real or not; it's actually happening. we'd have to get very technical to be specific

  • @MyLifeMyEverything92 you seem like the ER type. Sorry. Chill pill and a beating - worked on me...

  • @ems2n21 No idea what the "er type" means, but You seem like the IC type. & good for you, I guess you never really had ADHD if you suddenly no longer have it. You're born with this neurological condition, it doesn't get beaten out of you. (Y)

  • try not vaccinating your kids and see how many have ADHD

  • What were you saying? I wasn't paying attention(I'm too broke)!

  • actually jeff wasn't all that off the mark for dealing with adhd. The running around thing really works along with the cut down in sugars seeing that children are naturally hyperactive. Super funny though and tasteful

  • Wow, I need to go back to watching comedians cuss....I cant stand this buttered up stuff

  • @ADoseofReality1 it's not that born agains are getting their panties in a jumble but you don't see them insulting your "god" which I'm guessing by your attitude is Buddah. Turn or burn, buddy! There's only one way to Heaven...

  • add and and adhd are crap an excuse for piss poor parenting

  • i dont h have ADHD . i jus.IS THAT PIE?!?

  • boring.

  • SO FUNNY !!!!! Oh, ouch .... bahahahahah! My stomach hurts this is SO SO FUNNY! I have NOT laughed this hard in forever! Love all the videos :0P

  • stop shakin jello cheeks :D

  • "God has HIS own way of answering prayers."

    Religion really is stupid.

  • @ADoseofReality1 But not as stupid as atheism.

  • @CelticVictory LOL yeah people who want evidence to believe something.. idiots.

  • @juliecranford You clearly have never met an athiest, they never ask for evidence, they just blindly assume that what they think is right.

  • @CelticVictory The existence of stupid atheists does not make atheism itself stupid.

  • @juliecranford It doesn't really help it either.

  • @CelticVictory Pretty sure it's the other way around... Theists assume their beliefs are right and fuck the rest while atheists ask for evidence of the existence of a god, any god (and get none).

  • @tykk86 Actually you have that backwards, theists ask for evidence while believing what they do, Atheists believe that everyone should believe the same that they do or they are ignorant.

  • @CelticVictory I'm an atheist and i believe everyone should believe whatever the hell they want or feel it's the truth... In fact, as George Carlin once said, i think the 11th commandment should be: "Keep thy religion to thyself". Why does it matter what you or why believe?

The reason i said you got it the other way around is because, while i, as an Atheist, believe each should keep their beliefs for themselves, religious nuts are constantly trying to push their beliefs down my throat. But w/e

  • @tykk86 As a sidenote, i should not post responses when i haven't slept in a while, just ignore the huge load of grammar mistakes on my last comment =p

  • @tykk86 I'll start by saying that not all atheists are intolerant, just the majority. It is something as an atheist that you will have to deal with. Further, maybe that quote should read, keep your irreligion to yourself. You see, if you kindly told them that you were not interested they might leave you alone or you quite simply might be intolerant to their viewpoint. The fact is, I have experienced more atheists try to force their lack of religion and narrow viewpoints on me than from believer.

  • @CelticVictory Actually the quote is correct, Carlin phrased it that way because of the way the roman commandments are phrased... Thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's goods, so on and so forth.

And just to close out this argument, there are probably as many atheist bigots trying to force their viewpoints on the religious as there are religious bigots trying to force their viewpoints on atheists.

Every form of belief have their share of fanatics who try to impose on others.

  • @tykk86 I never said the quote was incorrect, only what it should really be. Secondly, there are no Roman commandments, the ten commandments are Jewish. In closing, I completely agree with you on that last part. Every belief (even if they claim theirs is a lack of belief) has dogmatics and even bigots. Every belief, I believe, also has their reasonable people as well.

  • @ADoseofReality1 Then leave it alone.

  • @ADoseofReality1 Oh really? Then tell me, what inspired you to search for and click on a video titled, "CHRISTIAN Comedian Jeff Allen on ADHD"? LOL!

  • @icewhipRox What relevance does that question even have? I wanted to hear some comedy and i did. I made one remark to a sentence and the born agains get their panties in a bunch... typical.

  • @ADoseofReality1 Who said I was angry? I found your comment to be rather humorous! (Thus the LOL!) And the fact you took such offense to what I said makes it that much more funny! =^.^=

  • lol gods not real

  • I have ADD too, but mine is in HD format !!

  • @OAA That is the best comment i have ever read!!! HAAH

  • @OAA haha me to having add is awesome and the people that dont know how to accept that everyone is different? well... i havent figured that one out yet

  • @OAA xD funny!

  • Jeff makes a good point when he was young and active they didn't call it ADHD." Amphetamine calms aberrant behaviour - but does not prove the existence of ADHD. A medical illness has medical symptoms. With ADHD psychiatrists are ascribing behaviour to a spurious connection with neurochemical processes in the brain. Of course pharmaceuticals companies would do everything to propagate the myth of ADHD. Warren Buffett quipped: "don't ask the barber if you need a haircut".

  • @icemakkneegrows: Allah does not exist you are being fooled into believing something that is not true. Try to find a christian counselor to talk to. We will not force our religion on you. We just want to talk.

  • He looks like an MIB agent.

  • PRAISE ALLAH, THE ONE AND ONLY GOD

  • @marcusmalin88 This is CLEAN, don't trash it up.

  • this makes me really depessed...you must of showed off hard in school...j/k g/l with your skits luv ya bro

  • It's so funny.

  • olp that is hilarious obnoctious little punk

  • I never went to school until 7th grade. And I think that's why I haven't been diagnosed yet. It's obvious that I have it. :P

  • Well, having adhd my mom's friends told me that I didn't know how to behave and I needed to be put in my place. That frustrated my mom. Teachers used to tell my mom my mind was always in La La Land. My dad didn't think I had anything. It is confusing to grow up and not know you have adhd. At one point I thought I was really stupid and my mom just said I was smart to make me feel better. I am going to get a degree in psychology and speacialize in adhd to help people like me.

  • You go brother, and fight the good fight, it`s not us who need to adapt to society, it`s society that needs to adapt to us !!, there is still too much ignorance among the so called "normal people" on the condition of ADHD, i wish you every success.

  • @naty86able Holy shit i had an experience extremely similar to yours, good luck with your studies, I'm going to school to be a nurse practitioner!!

  • @naty86able God bless you!

  • @naty86able Awesome. I am a teacher, and i have seen a few children with ADHD. Sadly, our system (in Quebec, where i live) isn't adapted well enough for people like you. I am touched with your comment and i know for sure you will get that degree. Why ? Simply because there is nothing better to see a ADHD at work when the motivation and the focus is there. You guys are unstoppable when it comes to it. God bless you.

  • @aegisknox

ADHD isn't real, It doesn't exist.

If you actually where indoctrinated into believing ADHD is real then your a fucking retard. Its just certain individual's personality traits and natural behaviors.

  • @JenkemBOMBS ADHD is not real ? You got a Phd ? Haha, your name ends with BOMBS, i wont debate with you. You probably have ADHD but you and your family refuse to admit it. Get a good cup of STFU and drink to its last drop.

  • @aegisknox

No, but if you go to Canada and many other advanced countries thousands of people with Phd's and all there medical professionals will tell you ADHD is not real.

That it is nothing more then personality traits and natural behaviors that have been deemed a "mental illness" by pharma companies and the quacks called "psychologists" so they could make profit from selling drugs.

It was imagined and VOTED into existence in 87. Its fucking imaginary.

  • @JenkemBOMBS i also don't believe in it, as far as being able to scan someone's brain and see any differences. Very probable is bad diet, and lack of necessary nutrients, add that to today's media and BS school systems, and viola! 'adhd' is born. sad for real.

  • @naty86able. I totally feel ya. My teachers convinced my mother to pump me full of ritalin and put me in special education classes. (That didn't teach anything and were more like places to keep the kids who don't or can't behave) But, I was able to overcome those setbacks and still lead a successful life. We need more people who actually want to help and not just put the "undesirables" out of the way of others.

  • @naty86able Ah fcking men.

  • add and adhd was left undiagnosed years ago, count your selves lucky

  • im a girl, and was diagnosed with ADHD at a very young age as was my brother. and we think my sister is as well she just hasnt been tested. we all have high IQ's, never can concentrate though the slightest little noise will throw you off whatever youre working on. it truly sucks

  • ADHD + High IQ is a nasty combination. Having power to think sucks when thinking is the problem :(

  • @Hals yes it does lol

  • what's he gonna miss colouring...he can catch up! rofl. classic. 5 stars.

  • I have ADD but not ADHD. Attention Deficit Disorder... I can't focus on anything if anything else is going on. Sometimes my own thoughts distract me. But I don't take any meds or anything.

  • dont medicate it,use it! be proud of it.

  • i can tell you..i'm 44 yrold..i was adhd before they named it...my teachers were intolerable to it..my parents were frustrated, my dad refused to see anything wrong, his cure was another beating..purdue univ tested my IQ at 146...but yet i was placed in "basic" classes and assigned "special helpers" and my parents were told it would be "easiest " if i just quit school. glad they didnt listen

  • ADHD is common in boys, BECAUSE THEY ARE KIDS and they normally grow out of it. But its funny how he tells his storys

  • Boys are commonly *labeled* ADHD b/c boys are a full year behind same-aged girls developmentally. They aren't meant to sit still at 5 yo.

  • i have it

    it not that cool

  • my brother has ADHD, he's not as bad as he says

  • try having it and having pms at the same time XD

  • Ha i love it! :-)

  • wow i never thought about that combination before

    thats terrifying =(

  • having it with PMDD is worse. PMDD is like pms times 10

  • I have ADHD and I thought this video was funny, but here in the UK we need better NHS services for people with ADHD so please sign the petition on 10 Downing Street site. Sorry can't put a link here so do a Google search for "aadd uk petition" to find it . Thanks for your help!!

  • We dont need a better service... we need a better prime minister to change anything! Good cause.. i did it

  • Thanks wickbruvinit!! That's much appreciated!!

  • =] I love surveys and petitions and anything else like that!

  • I don't have ADHD and I need the government to stop stealing my money and giving it to other people

    =)

  • I have ADHD, (well ADD), and I have to tell you, even on meds I can't sit still for longer than 5 minutes, so I know what it is like from the viewpoint of the kid.

  • lol i thought u put

    "I love ADHD" (Well ADD)

  • yeah right get my 4 yr old to sit down and color with his adhd lol. let him out the back door huh... lol i wish thats all it took

  • i actualy am ADHD so this is funny!!

    God bless,

    randytravisfan23

    p.s Jeff Allen you rock

  • This guy is great. Comedy does not have to be dirty.

  • it sure helps

  • i totallt agree

  • that was funny... but i don't like how he calls them 'adhd child' like it's a label... adhd isn't some disease people have, it's an inability in the system. classes are boring and aren't stimulating enough, everyone gets bored. just if you have adhd you do something about it rather than suffer. and for that you get medication to make you fit in. no-one is normal, so how can anyone be so abnormal if by definition abnormal is what's not normal?

  • Uh... I think you're overthinking this...

  • adhd is NOT an inability in the system. it is an ability that lets you not focus. i could really use some chicken right now...

  • you can also have a hyperfocus on the things you are interested though... just a inability to focus on what you find boring... and my point was that it's called an 'illness' or a 'disorder' because the system can't cope with it, because the system tries to make everyone the same... which obviously we're not...

  • its just a joke guys

  • That is so true! I have it and its the worst with stuff that I just have no interest in but when it comes to things that I love to learn about I can just read about it all day, sometimes almost obsessed but with everything else its just distracting... But I found practicing meditation works really well though cus it helps me focus better for more longer periods of time.

  • @roymondously it is an illness.... adhd is caused by a chemical imbalance in your brain therefore its something thats not supposed to be there. it hinders your learning and is therefore a disorder

  • @sarahbeth2008 i have it... do you?? my point is that what society deems a "chemical imbalance" may not be an illness... difference doesn't mean bad. the greatest inventors were "mentally ill" - but today's society wants everyone to be the same, and if they're not they're mentally ill. it's society's failing that they can't make school interesting, everyone's different and we should celebrate that and look at what we are good at, not try and make everyone conform to what they define as "normal"

  • @roymondously 100% spot-on comment. The powers that be want us to be homogeneous because we're easier to control/profit from that way, so their power isn't threatened. ADHD is just that--a DISORDER. Not ONE medical practitioner will say, "there's something wrong with you". It's someone who is frustrated in dealing with them and miseducated that will like sarabeth. Actually, there's something wrong with YOU, if anybody for passing judgment yet being naive to the nature of the so-called "disease".

  • @sarahbeth2008 Actually, there is no proof of a chemical imbalance in the brain of people who are diagnosed with ADHD. If you think there is, then answer this. What chemicals are imbalanced and what is the percentage or quantity of the imbalance?

  • @DVDluvr123 generally, it's a lack of (below average, which gives ADHD a spectrum just like ASD [autism spectrum disorder]; meaning, there is slight, moderate, and sever--just like any disorder, illness etc. nothing is 100%, all-or-nothing) dopamine in the prefrontal cortex (PFC), or, the neo-cortex; the front area of the brain involving attention, inhibition, social behavior, and problem solving/execution. It seems that it's a lack of bloodflow, meaning atrophy; but, dopamine is quantifiable.

  • @ZRadach Nice attempt but wrong answer. People who are diagnosed with ASD or ADHD are not given any kind of test to determine their dopamine level. The diagnosis is based entirely on observation of the person's behavior.

  • @DVDluvr123 It's not an attempt, it's a factual statement based on evidence; namely the work of Dr. Daniel G Amen, one of the forerunners in biopsychiatry. There is an almost 100% correlation (not guaranteed, but nothing in life is... not even the laws of physics See: Einstein, Newton, etc. All things that seem 100% later are found to be flawed, even if slightly). The specific behaviors of a properly diagnosed ADD are almost 1:1 with lowered SPECT scan bloodflow images of the PFC.

  • @DVDluvr123 Yes, in your average, run-of-the-mill psychiatric clinic that MOST people in America will end up in, that is the diagnostic criterion. However, I did not once say anything about diagnoses until you did; I was discussing the nature of "ADD" not saying whether it is properly diagnosed or not... often times, it is; which is very detrimental to many, and is best for overall health if it is eliminated. However, the specific ADD traits as defined ARE associated with bio. traits as stated.

  • @ZRadach Okay, obviously you are not going to give this up. But hopefully people who read the comments here will do their own research and find out what is really happening with ADHD instead of simply believing what you are saying.

  • @ZRadach Now you are claiming "I did not once say anything about diagnoses until you did". But in my original comment on this page I specifically stated that I was talking about people who are "diagnosed with ADHD". You are trying to mislead away from that.

You admit that people are not tested and then contradict that by claiming that "the specific ADD traits as defined ARE associated with bio. traits as stated".

And finally, I never said I was in America as you are falsely implying.

  • @sarahbeth2008 sorry man, but you have no clue what so ever.

  • You are the Best Comedian EVER.
