So the minute the 'secret'ingredient is revealed they all start working without discussing who will do what.

On top of that they get all kinds of ingredients out, and they all know what to do right away..

I dunno, this somehow seems a little.......staged?

Takes a big part of the fun out of watching.

@roccoiiooii I read somewhere that they get a list a potential ingrediants so it gives them some time to plan. They don't know WHAT it will be though until it is revealed on the show.

Not sure if that's correct but it seems to work.

they get a list of 5 potential ingredients, and they have to make up 5 dishes for each designating who will do what.

all in all 25 different variations

@ivenstorm Oh I hadn't heard that. Makes sense though. I watched "Food Network Unwrapped" and I believe they said the chefs get 15 min's after the unveiling to come up w/their dishes and 1 hour to make just one plate of each. Then they get 2 hours after that to duplicate what they did for all the other judges.
