Do you know if there would be a problem planting onions right now (mid May)? I'm in Georgia and didn't think I was going to do onions, but now i'm going to try. From what I've read starting a little late isn't necessarily bad, but I will just be behind. Thanks for you videos.
thanks for the video!! i was dying for watching a garden update...i just started all my seeds a few weeks ago and everything looks good!! can wait for the harvest!!!
by the way, is it OK to plant lettuce so close to each other? do they get big?
Oh, good point! I should have mentioned that both 'Salad Bowl' and 'Red Sails' are a leaf lettuce harvested as cut-and-come again. Had a been planted head lettuce, which is difficult for me in the south, I would have allowed more spacing between the plants. - Mark
Great job, Mark! Way up north we've got onions, lettuce, and potatoes, but we're still at least a month away from a frost-free date. But my rhubarb is looking good! Thanks for the update!
Your garden looks great. Love that tall fence. I'm anxious about the deer, but will bust a move regardless next weekend. I love seeing what everyone's doing. thanks for posting!
Thanks Donna. I have a herd of 3 deer that bed down behind my house - and I live in a neighborhood! They are very tame and apparently getting fat off my garden!! :) - Mark
Thanks Donald - you made me really jealous with your country living video; my wife and I just bought 22 acres and plan on following your lead soon! - Mark

I would try it anyway; at worse case you will end up with scallions! - Mark

Great idea with the leaves! Your garden always looks amazing. Sucks about the rabbits, but you can still replant the peas. It's early enough. :)
