Yes. (Sorry, coming in late here.) Patricia Rotledge, who plays her, grew up in Birkenhead. She's been known to joke in interviews that that's why she plays her snobbery towards Onslow with such conviction, since the actor who plays him (Geoffrey Hughes) comes from Liverpool and the two areas are known for their historical (and somewhat playfully exaggerated) rivalry with one another.

Of all the episodes I've seen, no, you don't get to see Elizabeth Warden's husband (his name never appears in the cast list). Her brother Emmet moves in after a messy divorce. Poor fellow; a messy divorce at one end, and Hyacinth singing at him from next door.

Have you seen the one in which Hyacinth invites Emmet and Liz to their country estate (apartment), suggesting they wear something smart and tweedy. Oh, Emmet enjoys his sweet revenge... for a while, anyway. watch?v=u6XCIrfn240
