"This flick is about as 'not for kids' as you can get"... Which for me is hilarious, because on a school trip to Canada at the age of 14 in 1984 I was shown this by the family I was staying with... Makes me wonder, now... :O
@SecretTheatre That's hilarious - reminds me of an overnight school trip I went on in high school: they put us up in a hotel, and in my room we stayed up all night watching Cinemax After Dark :)
Awesome movie, one of my fave animated movies since i was 12 back in 93 when i saw it on TBS with other adult animated movies back then. Both the magazine and movie influenced Avatar and The Fifth Element, if you like this movie i recommend Akira, Ghost in The Shell, Fire and Ice, Wizards, Fritz The Cat, Ninja Scroll, Vampire Hunter D 1 & 2, American Pop, Fist of the North Star, Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend, Wicked City, Heavy Traffic etc.
The reviewer's final rating of "Buy it" is correct... but his assessment of the film's details were terribly wrong.

Heh... I remember seeing this when I was 5 in the 80s. Thank you mom and dad for not censoring me against awesome!

The Animatrix uses a similar concept , allowing several short stories with lots of diversity.

Love the art work. They don't make 'em like they used to.
