By the way, Dragon Ball Z was just the sequel of Dragon Ball. The manga doesn't make a distinction between the first and the Z series. Toriyama Akira changed his style a couple of times during his writing/drawing of his manga though including the balance between seriousness and humor.
Just want to correct you akirafan186: The names are pronounced Sem-bay and A-rah-le ("le" like in "less"). They are names for rice crackers in Japan. But in case the rice crackers themselves are pronounced that way in English, then it's better if the pronunciation is kept that way of course.
I have Toriyama's same birth date; April 5. Yay. The American dub sucked, it pretty much ruined and changed the entirety of the Dragon Ball series. @Rozinen One thing I've noticed in the the series is that a lot of the different alien species have similar big "hotdog" lips too, so I think it's just a part of Toriyama's art style and nothing else. Plus, judging from the clothing Mr. Po Po wears, he's meant to look Indian... not African. The black skin color on the other hand is just because he's an alien, which is also the same reason he has pointy ears too, and so on.

@alucard123death I am a huge fan of DBZ. As much as I love DBZ, you can never ever ever ever compare it to Superman. Superman comics and its entire franchise have been around for 72 years. Superman will forever remain an icon for every superhero ever created. Without Superman, manga, anime and comics would never be as popular as they are. Its pointless to compare Superman and DBZ because thy're both from different worlds.

DBZ owns, he must be so excited to death that his series is kickass, they have made 4 series (technically 2, because dbgt sucked and db kai is just like dbz), a motherload of games, and even more coming like db raging blast 2, and tenkaichi tag battle, also a trading card game, a lot of movies released in blue ray!!! @Rozinen One thing I've noticed in the the series is that a lot of the different alien species have similar big "hotdog" lips too, so I think it's just a part of Toriyama's art style and nothing else. Plus, judging from the clothing Mr. Po Po wears, he's meant to look Indian... not African. The black skin color on the other hand is just because he's an alien, which is also the same reason he has pointy ears too, and so on.
