It is a story of angst, trials, tribulations, ups and downs, as well as an element of magic. But overall I think it is pretty gd to watch, for 12 episodes.
Really? I happened to love the game, as well as the animated series. It's true that death by lightrail is no fun, it goes to prove a point, although a bit exaggerated, how we as human beings react to things and either accept the fact and move on, or drown by the sea of our own despair.
Although despair is unpleasant, it is never a part of human emotion. In this sense, isn't it necessary to acknowledge it's existence? Nevertheless, it's interesting to see how different writers present the human race in their respective publications, regardless of the medium.

I don't recommend this anime (H2O Footprints In The Sand). Too much mindrape and dream sequences. Death by lightrail is no fun either.

Believe me, my friend. The last thing we need right now is more despair.

In other words: You're giving a reason for something like this to exist.
I've been arguing for the need of open-mindedness and ubiquity in works of entertainment. But I've also been arguing for restraint amongst said works.
I actually saw the dead body after the lightrail I rode on had struck someone. Balance has got to be restored.
