The water filters very little of the toxins. It does cool the smoke down, which is very helpful to your eyes etc, but it does not change what is inside the contents of the bubbles of water. (hence why you still have smoke after it goes through the water). The amount that is filtered by the water you can litterally see. The water on a hookah used many times turns colors slowly. However, the water will not change for up to 6 hours of smoking (3 sets of 2 hour smokes)
The spokesperson on this video is not accurate. I smoke hookah, I used to work at a hookah bar, and I have done my research on this topic, because I was wondering myself. The tar is still released, due to the heat from the coals. The coals (usually gunpowder based) also release carcinogens, and even though the foil is there. The only difference is the types of carcinogens, and maybe a slight difference in amount. Pick your poison. Litterally. (hookah tastes better)

Actually that isn't true, it's a fake fact with true elements to it. While it is true that the tobacco itself doesn't have tar that doesn't matter. Tar is produced when tobacco is HEATED.
While the smoke can possibly be less harmful on the larynx, it doesn't filter it for the entire body, tobacco is still burned and the water doesn't filter out those carcinogens.

Shisha is flavored by molasses and fruits, etc. While cigarettes are flavored by things like urea, acetone, sodium acetate, formaldehyde, ammonia, arsenic, silicon, DDT, cyanide, etc. I agree it is safer, no doubt (despite what stupid ass shit says, I know from experience), but it certainly is not 100% safe.
So combining vaporized natural tobacco that isn't ignited, is filled with no preservative chemicals, has a water filter to remove particles and cool the vapor sounds a lot better on your lungs than lighting up a cigarette and drawing that harsh, poison-laden smoke in.
Smoking anything isn't going to be good for your lungs but if I had to choose between the two I would pick the hookah immediately. In fact I have, I'll be getting one tomorrow :D

While the smoke can possibly be less harmful on the larynx, it doesn't filter it for the entire body, tobacco is still burned and the water doesn't filter out those carcinogens.

The heat is the burning on the skin and it does measure to being more healthy probably, but nonetheless it does not filter out carcinogens as most would like to believe. Being an active hookah smoker myself it is often what most around me think, but it doesn't work on what you might want to think. It is tobacco, it is burnt, and you are inhaling it nonetheless.

But shisha is "baked" at a low temperature(270F-340F avg) and cigarettes are burned on average around 1200F. The harmful tar is not really a factor in hookah smoking because of the low temperature. Cigarettes also have hundreds of additives that make it harmful, shisha only has a handful.

@hockeyfan7602001 Oui monsieur. But you must also take into account, things like volume of smoke (as much as up to 200mL) in hookah. Shisha is flavored by molasses and fruits, etc. While cigarettes are flavored by things like urea, acetone, sodium acetate, formaldehyde, ammonia, arsenic, silicon, DDT, cyanide, etc. I agree it is safer, no doubt (despite what stupid ass shit says, I know from experience), but it certainly is not 100% safe.

So combining vaporized natural tobacco that isn't ignited, is filled with no preservative chemicals, has a water filter to remove particles and cool the vapor sounds a lot better on your lungs than lighting up a cigarette and drawing that harsh, poison-laden smoke in.
Smoking anything isn't going to be good for your lungs but if I had to choose between the two I would pick the hookah immediately. In fact I have, I'll be getting one tomorrow :D

People are against tobacco because of it's use in cigarettes. Guilty by association. The effects of nicotine are being studied and the chemical may be used to help fight Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease one day, amongst other benefits. It even helps suppress other cravings or addictions the user may be feeling. The hookah is an ancient vaporizer so the tobacco you smoke isn't combustion smoke but a mellow, refreshing vapor.

@sherazuki Yes it is.Shisha has 5% nicotine and cigaret has a lot moreYou can get tar if the ashes burn in 800de higher and the hookah burns in 300 max so it doesn't give tar and cigarets does give tar cause it burns at 850 and last the Shisha taste a lot better than cigarets.

Hookah/Shisha smoke is just as bad as cigs, the only difference is that the smoke is cold. And you get a smaller douse of nicotine with the hookah. I smoke Hookah daily and love it. Cigs is euyyww..... but I love hookah<3

No, hookah smoke is very cool. (if prepared right) I can't hit a cigar very hard before the smoke kind of hurts and makes me cough. Hookah I can hit until I can't hit anymore. no cough and no discomfort.

I have been doing shisha since i was 13 year's of age. I dont have a smoker's cof i don't have yellow nails or teeth i don't stink bad. So i can certainly say it's not harmful it's really just something to do.
Btw these guys only do these video's to help those who want answers so stop bitching about how he talk's and what shisha is people have there opinions if there not nice please do every one a favour and KEEP IT TO YOUR FUCKING SELF simple........

i dont think the hookah filters all the tobacco, and because hookah inhalation is probably as bad as smoking a cigarette, the effects on the human body it can have are still serious because you still inhale a lot of smoke. So you cant assume just because the water gets dirty, 100% filtration of tobacco has occurred.
Think twice people, learn to fully filtrate the tobacco, then smoke it.
As a muslim, I am forbidden from smoking shisha because of the carcinogen inhalation risk.

have you ever seen a tar test done on cigarettes? they do the exact same thing a hookah does to filter out the tar, you light cigarettes and suck them through a hose into a water bottle just like a hookah and when you boil down the water you are left with all the tar that was in the tobacco, you can watch the video on here dude look it up.

You are inhaling massive amounts of nicotine into your lungs ( about 80 x that of a cigarette).
Nicotine is a carcinogenic substance.
It isn't filtering the carcinogen, so hookah is not that much healthier.

funny think, nothing that is burning and going into your lungs is good for you but i guess it would be a better experience because there is flavor involved. one thing i did learn from this vid is that when you smoke the shisha it goes into the lungs and is not just held in the mouth like pipe tobacco
