The reason Katrina was so disasterous is because of New Orlean's Levee breaking and the way that event devastated so much. A category five hurricane slamming into a coast is not cause for as much worry as was around during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. If people take the proper precautions and follow the advice set by the state governments (I live in Florida, they make sure we're prepared and coastal residents evacuated) then hurricanes are hardly the disaster that the media spins.

Someone responded to me below and said that 95% of the people voting for McCain are white. In other words, if your recent origins are not from Africa (we are all from Africa, you know), then you are white. Seems a little over-simplified. There were a lot of black people who voted for Bush— not once, but twice. Not as many as the Dems, of course. The republicans prayed for rain on the DNC and got a Hurricane during their convention. I think I can understand the humor in thinking about it in the abstract.

The reason Katrina was so disasterous is because of New Orlean's Levee breaking and the way that event devastated so much. A category five hurricane slamming into a coast is not cause for as much worry as was around during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. If people take the proper precautions and follow the advice set by the state governments (I live in Florida, they make sure we're prepared and coastal residents evacuated) then hurricanes are hardly the disaster that the media spins.

Do you know how your senator or congressman voted on bills? Did he or she vote, abstain, not present, or the cop out "present" but not vote? What bills were vetoed because of too much "pork"? Do you understand that the senator and congress person you hire makes the laws that govern your life or would you rather sit back, not educate yourself, and complain? Afterall, it's much easier to complain about what's wrong with someone else than get involved and be informed!!
