ITS TIME FOR US ALL TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS, I FEEL THIS HAS ALL GONE TOO FAR. WHO DO WE HAVE TO THANK "W" HE REALLY PUT A WRENCH IN THE SYSTEM. WE ARE NOW NO BETTER THAN DOGS.
STOP BELIEVING EVERYTHING IS ALRIGHT, BECAUSE IT REALLY IS NOT.
ARE WE NOT READY TO MARCH ON WASHINGTON AND TAKE OUR GOVERNMENT BACK? OR WHATS LEFT OF IT?
It has been proven that the more people are treated like prisoners the more people become submissive and prisoner-like. Look up "Stanford prison experiment." The government bullies are the prison guards and you will play the part of the prisoner.
@TylerIsMLG Thanks! And I think the moral of the story here is that we need a morality OUTSIDE of the world that has been foisted upon us. You don't need to be a victim OR a bully, these are false choices.
When we go to war we have to realize that this is what would happen. When our country is engaged in two wars we have to go through these procedures, we have to get radiated..... We have to be affraid of our own shadows. Look at Israelis they have been doing this for a while, every citizen is a suspect.
If we want cheap oil this is the cost. We need to ask ourselves is the oil worth it?
@dmehrtash I agree with almost everything you are saying, with one exception....Israel security (at airports) is vastly superior to ours, and yet they don't make anyone go through body scanners, or groping pat downs. They use a tried, tested and true method of "Behavioral Profiling". The lines move much faster, no one is humiliated, while ensuring top-notch security!
@Geddy008 I find Israel's model of segregation based on religious as more humiliating than a pat down. I don't know what is top-notch about Israel. a) they are the most insecure people in the planet, b) they can't pay for their own measures. They have Uncle Sam paying the bills. Unlike Israel, we have a constitution that we can use. If it is necessary and works then everyone should go through the pat down otherwise no one unless there is a probable cause. profile is not a probable cause.
@dmehrtash I'm not talking about Israel as a whole, only the way they deal with passengers at there airport. I have been to Israel, and witnessed how they deal with passengers. They ask you questions to see how you react, they are polite, and no one goes through a naked body scanner or intrusive patdown. They practice "Behavioral Profiling".
You are trying to make this about THEM as a people, culture or society. I am simply using an example of their airport security.
@dmehrtash hey moron the Israelis live in the MIDDLE of all the terrorists this crap is supposed to protect us from and they have no problem with hijackings and bombs even though they don't naked xray and feel out 3 year olds genitals. If you're going to gleefully give up your rights at least don't use complete bull**** to justify it.
@Rascal77s I think you missed the point. Israeli security is not something you would be able to implement in US. Their nonsense wont scale. they can't even pay for their own.
The questons we have to ask ourselves are
a) why is wrong with following the constitution on this? Why is airport security any different than bank?
b) the more important question is how much longer are we going to continue before we see that our foreign policy is making are more and more insecure.
Remember "The terrorists have won!" being screamed a few years ago during the Bush administration. How does this not apply to that situation? Since when have civilians been treated as criminals? I say now, the terrorists have "won".
I absolutely love what jesse ventura has to say. However - I would really like for him to allow the people asking him questions to get them out. It might result in new viewpoints and some real interesting insights.
That is a beautiful Rolex timepiece you are wearing Alex. Keep up the good fight and keep exploiting the scared and ignorant of society to fund your own personal life. Nothing wrong with this of course, just don't to force feed us your conspiracy bullshit.
Continuing from my earlier post, if this is brought to the Supreme Court, the TSA will lose. The 4th amendment protects your right from unreasonable searches. Don't let those who hate our freedoms take it away. That would mean they win. It doesn't make us safer. It means we gave in to their demands. God bless America and our Constitution.
I don't see how they are getting around the 4th amendment. I hear "consent," but if I don't give an officer consent to search my vehicle, he can't say I'm not allowed to drive. The right to fly should remain if my answer is no. There is an exception for searches of a traveler's body, including cavity, strip, x-ray, or pat-down searches, but that requires reasonable suspicion. Looking at US v. Flores-Montano, the TSA does not have the authority to conduct these searches.
@Durhai Take a train, bus, ship, or car. Airlines are owned by powerful corporations that at their core exist to make a profit. They could care less about your 4th amendment or any other rights you think you have. Our government has been taken over by these corporations & they will do as they please. The only peaceful option you have is to boycott them. If enough people boycott flying (you of course are different - you can keep flying since it is your "career") maybe they will get the hint.
@ProfKaos33 Yeah, like that's gonna happen. If we ask them really nicely & whimper & whine enough maybe our corporate masters will not squeeze us so hard in the privates. If the American people grew a pair & stood up to the corporations, maybe we would have a chance of getting our democracy restored. But you response to my comment is nothing more than a personal attack. If the American public boycotted flying for 1 month, the corps would quickly adopt the Israelis passenger screening system.
@WunderMaus@WunderMaus Woah! Don't get you panties in a twist, princess. I just said what you said right back to you. Feeling like a hypocrite now, huh? Unfortunately there are many who have little choice in the matter of whether to fly. If this goes through the SCOTUS, there is a good chance that AIT and enhanced pat-downs without reasonable suspicion will be deemed unconstitutional. Then we go back to how everything was (and btw without a single bomb exploding on a plane).
Please sign the petition against the TSA assault at wnd(dot)com/airportscreening THIS IS NOT SPAM but a real petition. Please check it out, read it, and then sign it if you agree. This is one of the best worded petitions I have read and believe it could have a real impact if enough people sign.
