  • mission accomplished just 1 more lie

  • Good video!

  • a boiiiiiiiiii mick

  • You take is as a compliment to be compared to George Bush? And then you call him an idiot in the next line!! You're worse than I thought.

And I bet George Bush is not happy about being compared to you!

  • You can say a lot more in 4 minutes. Why give the platform to George Bush? Mission accomplished my arse!

  • I agree on your opinions but you have to take into consideration its only my first video of this sort of style.

  • The inevitable battle between "modernity" and "Islamic fundamentalism" has begun.

Just happens it started in Iraq.

  • FUCK yeah! They did free the people; disarmed Iraq and protect the world for the most part :D Love 1:07 :p. You can't help people who actually want to blow themselves up. US is doing them a favour when it bombs them.

  • Wow, guess who's a sucker for propaganda...

  • Freed the Iraqi people by occupying them? Disarmed Iraq of weapons it didn't have? Protected the world when in reality terrorism has INCREASED worldwide since the invasion?

You really are a sad, misguided and gullible individual. I guess facts are just wasted on you.

  • amergin2006

You really are a sad, misguided and gullible individual. I guess facts are just wasted on you.

(What a coincidence, that is exactly what I was thinking about you.)

I suppose you think "Death to America" Iran is no threat either.

  • You seem to be ignorant of the reality in the Middle East. The USA is constantly threatening Iran, and has been since 1979.

USA is athreat to stability and peace in the Middle East. This is obvious from it's military actions in Iraq and Afghanistan, it's constant threats to Iran and Syria, and it's continued support of Israeli apartheid.

people seem to forget that USA is 7000 miles from the Middle East. Why is it so heavily involved in the region?

    Oil.

  • This little presentation from Ireland is supposed to do what?

This is a huge undertaking, the Iraq war.

There are many nuances to this effort.

It was about Saddam's intransigence, his danger to his neighbors, many of whom are allies of the US. He was a threat, by extension, to most of the world. He did have WMDs. There were no lies about that.

There were miscalculations aplenty. Very costly for America and those willing to help out. Costly in terms of blood and money.

    Was it worth it?

    t

  • Well it was only basic, I know that. But I think most people are at this point in the belief that america should not have entered iraq. I did statee in the video that iraq hadn't wmds. I'm also completely against the war.

It was just an experimentation at a documentary sort of style for me.

I know that there is many bits of information thats its missing. But thanks for your response.

  • Unfortunately, most of the missing information lies on one side of the argument.

For all the *good* people of Iraq it was very worth it.

Anyhow, it doesn't matter what people think now; it's what we think at the time. Hindsight is a powerful tool.

  • There may be "missing" information, but what was provided what factually accurate. Yes, it's only one side of the argument, but it's a damn strong one!

  • But the other side is stronger. :)

  • I am a veteran from Korea. My oldest son is a United States Naval Academy graduate.

    We hate war.

This conflict between the West and Islam it seems to me was inevitable. Whether it was started in Iraq or somewhere else. I am Islamic, but more in the way of Turkey. Secular government rules in Turkey.

Secular government to many Muslims is apostasy. They have their sharia law, which is God's law, according to them.

The conflict between "modernity" and "religious fanaticism" has begun.

    It is scary.

  • Saddam was no threat, that much is obvious. There were no WMDs. There was barely a functioning army at the time of the invasion. This was a war of America's choosing, not inevitable or necessary. Iraq's main neighbours afre Iran and Syria, no friends of USA. A bit odd how everyone seems to measure the cost in terms of US lives and dollars. No attempt to measure the cost to Iraqis. I guess that doesn't really matter when the real issue is oil

  • Your view is widely held by many.

The larger picture escapes your analysis.

The larger picture being the inevitable confrontation between modernity and fanatical Islam. So called Modernity vs. so called Sharia Law.

Can they coexist on this planet, this planet that grows smaller by the minute?

You say Saddam was no threat? If I believed that, I would believe this war was about oil.

  • What inevitable confrontation between modernity and fanatical Islam? The only inevitablility was that George Bush was going to war.

It seems to have escaped you that Saddam was a secularist, and Iraq was a secular society before it was attacked by USA. The USA also supported Saddam when he was a real threat to his neighbours, like when he attacked Iran in 1980.

So don't talk to me about the wider picture.

  • Well, just because you didn't think Saddam had WMDs, and just because you thought his secular government was just fine, and he was no threat to anyone, that doesn't make it so.

The wider picture, which will come into focus for you at some time in the distant future I suppose, includes fanatical extremist Islamists who would very much like to conquer the world, using techniques such as suicide bombers, and not just in Iraq. You know where.

These people are insane. Have no shame and no fear..

  • Such a simplistic view of the world. I feel like I'm talking to George W. Bush.

  • I take that as a compliment.

Of course George W. Bush is kind of an idiot, BUT, he has at his disposal the best information and advisers available to man.

There are visionaries working in our government advising our leadership about the "big picture" out there

As a lay person, I don't get the inside information.

But your own personal opinions seem to be focused on a very narrow, short term, vision.

We will never agree. We shouldn't even try.
