Through mutation, the virus changes a severely damaged zombie into something stronger. It's a clever idea, and those 'Licker Beta' in Resident Evil 5 were retarded, with hearts hanging out, being fat and super strong, along with having a tongue more like a tentacle than a blade..crazy Japanese cult surrounding tentacles..

Regardless you missed out the Super Licker, which is the final mutation stage. It's a good idea - but I don't agree with the Crimson Head phase, that's the stupid part..

@CreedHunter Hell no. Their's nothing stupid about the Crimson head phase. Far scarier than lickers and a hell of a lot harder to deal with. I can knife lickers no problem in Resident Evil 2. Try that with a Crimson Head and you'll get your throat sliced wide open. Crimson Head encounters are the scariest in all of the Resident Evil series.

actually, they are the reanimated zombies that still have most of there central nervous system in tact. essentially, when you had thought that you had killed that zombie before, you had only incompassitated it. when it awakens again, blood seeps into the necrotic tissue, giving it a red hue and thus the name "crimson head". also, with some of the regenerative properties of the t-virus, it is fully capable of running and has an increased muscle-mass. oh, and don' forget the claws...

very easy way to stop em is when you have the shotgun, let them get up and run at you, aim the shotgun upwards. when they get in front of you *boom* head shot :)

When a Zombie is killed, it can reanimate, but this time it will be stronger, and with the ability to run. To stop a zombie becoming one, either remove the head, or burn the corpse.

There were different viruses in each of the games. In the first RE the zombies were infected by the T-Virus. If the T- Virus develops its regenerative qualities take over with the victims teeth, nails, muscles and skeleton continuing to develop, thus creating a Crimson Head. In the following games the zombies were infected by the G Virus (Resi2), T/G (Dead Aim and T-Veronica (Code Veronica X.) Although still...the zombies in Nemesis were T-Virus muthas and they didn't get all Crimsonated...

Nope, "normal" zombies were all T-ones. G and T-veronica work differently. Nemesis project is also a bit different. Since the citizens were infected by rats, who "tasted" T (and, in this you're right, partially G as well) after Spec team was killed by William. But, from what i remember, crimson's appeared only in the Mansion because they were exposed to the viruses and other stuff for a long time (like living next door to the Nuclear Power Plant). But the concept was very interesting, imo.:)

I'm currently playing the game as Chris and just got back from the Resident building and the body that lays outside the medicine room is gone and no where to be found. I didn't do anything to it and it just disappeared.

Funny, no matter how many times I play this game it always finds a new way to mess with my mind.

If you burn or decapitate the zombie they won't turn into Crimson Heads. Sometimes blowing off one of their legs with Acid Grenades will work too

New question, Barry died in my fight with Lisa or whatever the undead half-breeds name is, I died as well a little while later and beat her the second time with Barry still alive but was wondering, would this have effected the story of my game or would he just re-appear after i killed Lisa?

it will affect the story because in the ending movie barry will be dead, but if he survives, you can see him in the ending movie (there are 8 endings)

Crimson Heads arn't that bad at all. Especially as Jill. You usually only encounter 3 or 4 crimson heads before getting the grenade launcher and then just use the glitch to get unlimited rounds for it and burn the bodies with the incendiaries.
