Y can't you use 2 channel mixer? Y will it not work? I have an audio 8 and I set it up 2 a 2 channel mixer but the software lock is on audio 8 and the traktor scratch pro I'll play the control vinyl and I'll try 2 stop he record but its still plays also on the right turntable (on traktor) plays backwords ? Idk wat 2 do plz help

Ive got myself a traktor audio 6 interface with Traktor Scratch Pro and am having some serious sorting out the settings.

When you run the setup wizard and have to select your device there is no A6DJ options.. only A4DJ and A8DJ to select from.

But i hear that all of the softwares are compatible with all of the audio interfaces? Confused much, any help is appriciated.

I dont think that the wires are xlr's. They look more like midi cables.

@MrDJZen1010 They are XLRs. You can tell because they have the little locking button on them. MIDI connectors don't have this.

@kezakool It doesnt matter what kind of mixer you use, the RCA cables send audio from the sound card to the mixer just as if they were sending audio from a real TT/CDJ not a timecode one.

Might I suggest you go to Native Insturments support and ask? I'm sure you don't have to purchase any product(s) to get great support from them. They are a great company. I am 100% sure they would love to have you as a customer, and would go the extra mile to make that happen. Hi, I really need help I bought the Traktor Scratch Pro and I put the cables on correctly with my two Technics SL-1200MK2 and I put them with the Audio 8 DJ and installed the drivers and Traktor Pro. When I plug in the Audio 8 DJ it doesn't seem to appear at all and when I toggle it in preferences ,it says to plug it in. I already tried installing it using it as an administrater. I also tried running it in compability mode. It just doesn't appear

@ticouser1 all you need is a rca to minijack thats the red and whites to a headphone cable and then you can record from a soft ware on your computer

I think you may have forgotten something quite important; EARTHING! The two earth leads from the turntables need to be attached to the Audio 8 controller. Just a question would it be acceptable to loop the earth from the turntables to the Audio 8 Controller back to the mixer earth input?

I'm buying traktor this week with audio 8 dj. I'm pretty sure i'm gonna buy the control x1 soon enough too, thing is my shitty laptop only has 2 usb ports. If i'm gigging and I use one of those usb multiports to allow the audiodj 8, control x1 and portable harddrive, is it gonna mess up? I have 3gb ram, so i'm not sure. anyone done this?

It works with every sound card (for exemple the ESI Maya 44 USB or Terratec Phase 26 USB) but if you'd like the Scratch functions, so if you want to use control vinyl/cds you need a Traktor certified mixer/soundcard (like the Xone 2D or the Korg Zero 4)

The sound card is much better, the time codes have no effect on the audio quality. In serato on the sl1 box that most people still use, although you can play high quality mp3s and wav's the serato box is much lower than cd quality @ 16 bits. The NEW sl3 box is the same as the audio 8 box @24 bits aka CD quality. However the over all decibal/ signal output on this Audio 8 is MUCH higher than serato's sl boxes providing a much louder and more powerful audio experience.

yeah man, just means you havn't connected up propperly, try going through and doing it again, had the same problem

@ihci Well go to the audio setup and change the sample rate untill you get a desired sound without the popping or slurpping sounds. I had that too. I think it depends on sound cards in the computer. well hope it helps.

Make sure your mixer is in "line-in" mode if you're using cd's. Also make sure your audio 8 is set to cd control. If your mixer is set in "phono", you will get a distorted sound.
