Its mostly a term to cetegorize a very general set of political beliefs. Liberal, in the traditional sense, means a general belief in the value of personal liberties. In the modern sense, its been as muddied up as the term, "conservatism". Conservatism, as a fiscal policy, just means responsible government spending. In the social sense, it means passing legislation based on values that are perceived to be traditionalist. Fiscal conservatism isn't necessarily incompatible with social liberalism

Yes, Banks are corporations too, but on a different level than industries that are losing money left and right. Still, they are part of it. Many due to Clinton's affirmative action house loans.

He decided to spend billions on the war in Iraq (and know we can't forget this as I said earlier) he even failed to convince NATO that invading Iraq was important, he sent troops out there ill-equipt and grossly underestimated the cost of the war. However at the same time he cut money spent on education, training, environment and housing.
I guess he program was already in progress and it would be hard to stop it.
About Iraq, yes that was a mayor fuck up, however you are wrong in certain details. The troops were not ill equipped in the invasion stage. In fact they did a pretty good job in reducing casualties. Most US casualties are a result of the occupation stage.

if national health care is introduced in America it simply means health care will be available for all. It won't mean you can't drink, smoke or whatever. It will just mean if u are poor and you become ill you will be able to get treatment. You won't be taxed extra for being overweight/alcoholic.
Also if national health is introduced, u would still be able to keep your medical insurace if you wish to do so.

Its mostly a term to cetegorize a very general set of political beliefs. Liberal, in the traditional sense, means a general belief in the value of personal liberties. In the modern sense, its been as muddied up as the term, "conservatism". Conservatism, as a fiscal policy, just means responsible government spending. In the social sense, it means passing legislation based on values that are perceived to be traditionalist. Fiscal conservatism isn't necessarily incompatible with social liberalism

The interviewer was leading the woman to get the answers he wanted. Poor journalism. However, does anyone think she will be able to dunk the president i boiling water? Well people should at least look at the policies BEFORE voting, they should at least know who stands for what. That's the voters's fault if they didn't at least read up on what the candidates stand for!
The recession will takes years to pass, there is no quick-fix solution. I don't blow sunshine up any politician's arse, I just believe that change is needed.
Just because people elected someone you didn't vote for doesn't mean there's anything wrong with democracy!

The recession is due to another slick liberal whose name is Clinton. He made the recession possible by venturing into his affirmative action housing. Now they have a president who is spending money like a drunk sailor. Forget Bush and his Iraq, Obama has way surpassed that handing out money to industries that will soon be back to square one. The recession will take years to pass? Why thank you Cpt. Obvious! The question is more how to approach the problem itself.

I am aware that you have to question how to approach the problem, think only right wing conservatives have thought of this? Obama bailed out these industries, it was a lesser of two evils, if he hadn't been bailed out they would have completely fallen apart. The same is happening in Britain too, the government is having to bail out the banks because if it didn't millions of people will be worse off. To be honest, you're just looking for a scapegoat, and hey why not just blame the liberals?

I am not saying the the republicans had a much better plan either. However, you are talking about banks, and that is a completely different issue from handing out money to corporations that are hemorrhaging due to an inability to adapt. And that the liberals are behind the guidelines that led to the collapse of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac is no secret, just an "inconvenient truth" as you socialists like to rant about. Conservatives are to blame for not ending the lunacy.

There isn't much difference really, banks are corporations too but these places had to be bailed out or people who had investments in these companies would have lost a lot more. But there's only so much that can be spent, so yes some do collapse. Conservatives are to blame for more than "not ending the lunacy", they didn't come up with a decent strategy either. No group of people can claim to have all the answers, liberal or conservative.

Yes, Banks are corporations too, but on a different level than industries that are losing money left and right. Still, they are part of it. Many due to Clinton's affirmative action house loans.
Here's a good strategy some conservatives came up with: How about not lending out money to people who can not pay their loans?

So why didn't Bush use this strategy? I'm amazed at how you forget the mistakes made in the Bush administration. He decided to spend billions on the war in Iraq (and know we can't forget this as I said earlier) he even failed to convince NATO that invading Iraq was important, he sent troops out there ill-equipt and grossly underestimated the cost of the war. However at the same time he cut money spent on education, training, environment and housing.

About Iraq, yes that was a mayor fuck up, however you are wrong in certain details. The troops were not ill equipped in the invasion stage. In fact they did a pretty good job in reducing casualties. Most US casualties are a result of the occupation stage.
Obama has spent more than Bush in a couple of months.

Bit kooky to blame conservatives for loss of individual freedom, when the so called liberals are the ones pushing for the nanny state with a regulated private life.
As an example, if you get national health care, don't you think the government suddenly will have even more of a say in how you lead your lives? Suddenly extra taxes on unhealthy food and alcohol will be more justified, after all if you live unhealthy everyone will have to pay for it. And that is just the start of the track.

if national health care is introduced in America it simply means health care will be available for all. It won't mean you can't drink, smoke or whatever. It will just mean if u are poor and you become ill you will be able to get treatment. You won't be taxed extra for being overweight/alcoholic.
Also if national health is introduced, u would still be able to keep your medical insurace if you wish to do so.
