some people like scooped shit sounds, I like it, I find higher mids make it sound less heavy, doesn t really but just saying that some people do like there mids lower
I've heard people complain about emgs with engls, but from what I can hear, though the tone is very compressed from the camera mic probably, I'd say it sounds great. Was thinking about dropping an 85 into my bridge possition. Ever tried that?
About the Emg 85 in bridge position I never tried that sorry. Emg are pretty good with all amps but emg 81 have a little mid freq punch and the Engl fireball powerball series have mid punch too. Too much mid freq will sound fuzz. But With my vid the sound is not the same that what I can hear by ears :)
I have a powerball as well with cab and use a ltd Jon donais sig with a blackout metal 2 in the bridge and it sounds amazing, I suggest if you like heavy to go with blackouts, there bass are better then emgs, I honestly support the blackouts over emg s, only cause after using them they let me down.
ok metal heads, just so you know, a guitar (even one that is tuned down to C#) is a midrange instrument. so every time you assholes scoop out all the mids you are effectively turning down the guitar. and by cranking the lows and highs you are just turning up the non musical noise coming from speaker cones and pick scrapes. congratulations.
It's a great amp but I don't really like the settings. It's not really distinct enough for my likings. I like your lows. Maybe just because of the cam.
I dont have this Amp anymore but the sound is not realistic due to the digital camera ... but I used to tweak the eq cutting a little the mids frequencies and pushing the gain :D Bye
Probably the mic, but it sounds pretty muddy. Please don't take offense! Try using a lot less gain since you have active pickups. Those pickups push the amp hard and can easily compress the signal when the gain is up too much!
Crank the mids!!! fuck that gay ass scooped shit!

Just got myself a Powerball.
Is that a Harley Benton G212 with v30s? Have the same cab. How are those EMGs in that setup?
Xevidan 1 year ago
It was a G212 HB standard then I upgraded it with v30s .... With EMG it's noise free but with HUM close to the amp :)

Just like it should be, then. :)
