I'm probably going to get reamed for this comment, but I felt it was too slow.

"boflaade" mentioned that this speed helped emphasize the lyrics, which I feel is true to an extent, but at this speed I feel you lose the sense of a person speaking to someone they deeply care about which is something I really liked about the original version.

I also felt the piano stole from the humility of the original. Someone used the word "pretentious", but I wouldn't go that far.

If you want, I have a too fast version of this song i put up on guitar. I guess i played it fast on the guitar one to make up for the time it took to play this one lol. To be truthfull, I didn't realise how slow this really was untill i sat down and listened to the recording, although i don't mind how it turned out. Well, its a year later now, maybe i'll re-post a new one or something.

but IMO, the piano is one of the most sentimental instruments, and conveys many feelings very effectivly. :)

well chances are he is picking this out by ear or he got the chords for it which are just letters. i always get chords for guitar to play on piano and it doesn't really give you much to work with. also he did say it was a really slow version and he is emphasising different words you know...making it his own. im not trying to make you feel bad but you just have to think about what you are saying.
