Hmmm . . . this is simple.

If God allowed his people to have free will, then he knew that people could possibly become evil. Therefore, God decided that he wasn't REALLY going to protect you from evil. Just cross his fingers that nothing too bad happened. And if he's all-knowing, he was more than aware of what people like Hitler were going to do. AND HE ALLOWED IT. Doesn't sounds like such a fantastic God to me . . .
