i'm not saying that religion is a lie, simply that i choose not to be religious. i am not ignorant however. i own many religious texts including not only the bible but also the bhagavad-gita (a hindu text) and the sixth patriarch sutra (a buddhist text). i am yet to find a copy of the qur'an or any torah extracts, but i enjoy reading religious texts. some of the greatest stories ever told are found in religious texts and i can see why people base their lives on them

im enjoying the stories! i have to base my life on what the government tells me to, like all people. i feel that religion is not necessary in my life, but i can see how the morals promoted by religion can help people live better lives. i don't see religious texts as the basis of life, but lessons can be learnt from them.

What is truth? Until you can answer that clearly and without reservation you will base your life off of everything else, and not truth.
Truth is what makes men free, and only truth. All else brings captivity and bondage.
My children enjoy the stories I tell them from my youth, yet within those stories lie life's lessons. The stories while enjoyable are the ticket to their freedom and success in life. If they treat them as mere stories, they'll never get the point, and walk in freedom.

i never said i was ok with living a lie. i said i HAVE to base my life on the government. if it was up to me, i would live my life by building my own house and catching my own food. unfortunately, other people have attached monetary and legal value to these things so i can't live life the way i want... and of course you can 'get the point' if you treat them as stories, that's how all fiction, proverbs and fables work, otherwise they wouldn't exist. the meaning of ALL literature is to teach.

If people HAVE to base their lives on what the government says, there would have not been an American Revolutionary War. Government for the people and by the poeple is not the same as People subserviant to the government. Of course that is not the text or purpose of this video. Just my 2 cents.
This scripture best fits all of your statements:
Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
That is a fact of life for most disillusioned people in the world today.

hehe, when has government ever been by the people? how many presidential candidates have ever lived in a house worth less than $200,000? and for the people? i won't go into it because, as you say, that's not the purpose of this video. and since when does being non-religious make you "disillusioned"? religious "truth" is not proven, but i wouldn't call you disillusioned. religion is one answer to a question that nobody can answer based on fact. there's nothing wrong with religion or atheism.
