over 10 years later, still inspired by this song and video! thanks for getting it up here. i forgot about it til recently and how it affected our video...
@hvincent1980 Yep that love, and that connection that rises beyond words... That feeling like fine gold, when its both of you. And it cant be maintained. Its beautiful, and tragic. Like a dark poem. Its to much almost..
after watching Gavin display this artwork of pain from love it does make me think we are entertaining some higher power, and they throw certain people into our lives at their own leisure.. geeze i need to start having more control over my life lol
This was probably inspired by The Last Tango in Paris, with Marlon Brandon. There is a scene much like this one, where he has sex with a total stranger in an empty apartment, without any dialogue.
This song reminds me of past times. Just sad good times. Only thing I can say is except in the worst circumstances you only remember the good times. For some reason the bad ones just slide past the memory. Sometimes it takes effort to remember them.
I miss this song and old Bush stuff... In the year 2k, when this came out, I was single and getting out of college and finding myself in this crazy life. Those days are gone now, but if I could live at anytime in history, it would probably be back then, music was awesome and no sight of any gay bands or vampires or guys with their faggy backpacks or the next new cell phone or any social networking site fanatics...
@bigdsears so true, i miss those days, they were just so perfect. even though they were fucked up at times, they seemed so...pure and real and full of emotion. nowadays, everything seems bland and fake.
man, i really think 'the science of things" was there most interesting and progressive album - full of experimentation and electronics, pushing their boundaries well past the alt-grunge-rock that defined their previous albums. great stuff!
i like this tune, i used to lsiten to it years ago, now that i opened my old pc again, i am enjoying, and re licving memories. however, what was this song about? any guesses?
@JamalDOA yeah especially when you grow up in a generation where everyone feels like they have lost so much time and time just passed them by, it makes us scared every moment making time pass so much slower ..which can be good
i love the mood this songs emulates. And the lyrics can be dissected and molded into many interpretations. Definitely one of Bush's best songs and Gavin's voice is gold.
whoever shot this has a great eye for juxtaposition...and storytelling...would of liked to seen this cut to the WOW remix...only the compression pisses me off...I NEED HQ~!
The 90's will go down as a great decade for music.I still love and listen to Tool. The reason why there still great at what they do is because they never let there ego's get the best of them. They have survived because of that and not topping themselves. It unfortunatly happened to one to many 90's rock icons.
Imagine if Kurt Cobain was still alive today? Would he still be creating great music or producing and helping new talent?
@madloz76 No idea as to whether he'd still be making great music. His fans def recognized him as a musician who was here to stay and who only knew music as a passion and not as a paycheck. Sad to say, looking back, it is more profitable for Nirvana the band with a lead singer dead than alive.
Unfortunate but true.Foo Fighters wouldn't be,or perhaps came much later.I respect Dave Grohl for what he has done with Foo Fighters and just creating great music.
It was great to hear Bush again.I was talking to my housemate earlier about memorable concert experiences.Bush was the first one I went to.It was fanatastic.
Razorblade Suitacase is still a personal favourite.I personally felt they where at there height as a band.
The last time my first wife and I spent time together, we went for a drive down a dark Nashville highway. The night was so beautiful, we had to pull over to look at the stars.
"Letting the Cables Sleep" was playing on the radio. Jeanette turned to me as this lyric played...
"You in the sea on a decline. Breaking the waves."
There was a pause. Then the violins started and Gavin Rothsdale's voice returned.
"Watching the lights go down. Letting the cables sleep."
Thumbs up for Santiago Munez .P
