@MrNoobificationism Correct Japanese pronunciation is naNbu, i think it was changed to an "m" to pronounce easier because the same thing with tempura, the correct way is teNpura. Just going off of what my Japanese teacher told me.
@whoareyoudang I said "Looks like a Luger", not its a luger copy, and i know about guns, im an fan of the mauser 96, in fact, i made a video analysing a Mauser.
You should read carefully other people posts before posting again.
I bet you wouldn't be saying that if you got shot with one. Sure the magazine can cause the gun to jam, but what gun never jams? Sure it fired an 8MM bullet, but a bullet's a bullet. And the barrel is long, the longer the barrel, the more the gas expands, the more rifling, the more powerful and accurate the gun.
@ChakatAssassin2 Dude the gun has the same foot lbs of energy as a .380 auto. So a military handgun thats pretty bad. Plus the firing spring in the gun would get weaker and weaker the more you fired, there were alot of reports of misfires.
But like you said a bullet is a bullet and an 8mm nambu cartridge with proper shot placement could drop you in 1 shot.
The trigger guard isn't large enough for the operator to wear gloves while using it.
The bolt had some design flaw that it could be fired accidentally if it was set down on it's side or carelessly pulled from the holster.
A guy acquired one of the original ww2 service Nanbu pistols and did some work on it in his garage, refining the bolt and carrier assembly to alleviate the problems, and his name was Ruger.
@WunderDoob The trigger guard was later modified to allow gloves. The type 14 nambu did not accidentally discharge what your thinking of is the type 94 nambu. The type 94 nambu had an exposed sear on the left side of the gun in which if pressure was applied could set a round off.
This fucking retard said nanbu its nambu then another fucking retard said is it gas powerd it said in the beggining of the video gas blowback what a dumbass
@demarion69 Actually, both "Nanbu" and "Nambu" are correct pronunciations of the the word 南部拳銃. "Nan" or "Nam" refers to south. You just most commonly hear "Nambu" in English. Learn Japanese fool.
@menju32 no no, it doesnt matter. great pistol design, granted it sux in comparison to US and european side arms but it is at least good enough to put a round down the range. cool pistol. i would buy it as a collectable however. not as a combat sidearm, thats what the glock is for lol
@menju32 thats what i meant by "it sux". but either way, at least it puts rounds down the range. lol dont feel the need to educate me my friend, i am fully aware of the pistol design being unique and terrible
does anybody know if you can use propane with this?? that would seriously improve the fps, also the mags are available at airsoft atlanta but are aroumd $44
I wouldn't recommend propane. I bought the Heavyweight non-blow back version of the gun. Same brand and everything, but I wouldn't use anything stronger than Duster Gas... unless the weather is a bit nippy. You could use propane; nothing is really stopping you, but it may not be a good idea.
Oh hell yeah, I am so buying one of these. This will sound retarded, but I loved this gun in COD5. I really am going to look into Japanese WWII weapons now because of that game. It gave me a new-found respect for the Japanese and Russians in WWII as well.
That's exactly the reason I want one too! And an airsoft Arisaka and Type 100, my respect fpr the Russian and Japanese has also increased as a result of the game.
Tanaka makes an airsoft Arisaka for about $600. KTW made an Arisaka for about $1100 and they're currently making a type 96 machine gun (its the same as the type 99 in COD5, except the real version fired a smaller bullet) That thing is going to break your bank account. No company currently makes a type-100. KTW also makes airsoft Mosin-Nagants for about $1100. No company manufactures PPSHs or DP-28's. Japanese and Russian airsoft weapons are very expensive and hard to find.
he meant russian wwII guns. the ak wasn't invented til 1947. if your play airsoft as a russian in WWII, just get a german weapon, they were comonly available on the battlefields
I may have to retract my statement about not getting this. If I end up buying an arisoft Arisaka rifle, then I'm not going to get myself screwed with a bolt-action rifle and no side-arm. This is the only gun on the market that would actually make sense to use for the IJA impression, even if a lot of Japanese officers bought european pistols before the war... Although, I could just use one of the Mauser broomhandle pistols and say that I picked it off from some dead Chinese nationalist.
I'm definitely getting this gun. The FPS is around 200-230 but shoots a larger BB so it hurts more than it would with a 6mm BB plus i believe that the hand guards on the gun are real wood.
I was seriously considering buying this, since I'm going for the IJA impression, but then I remembered that it's 8mm, has a low fps, and is made by Marushin. I'm probably not getting this one.
200, not that good at face value but when you consider that its GBB, 8mm, and really meant to be more of a showoff weapon than an actual combat weapon, that's actually not THAT bad. If you buy this along side a Tanaka brand "Arisaka Type-99" you've got yourself a pretty sick IJA loadout.
It's called a nambu.

@Grasshopper257
Couple more things about the Nanbu:
The trigger guard isn't large enough for the operator to wear gloves while using it.
The bolt had some design flaw that it could be fired accidentally if it was set down on it's side or carelessly pulled from the holster.
A guy acquired one of the original ww2 service Nanbu pistols and did some work on it in his garage, refining the bolt and carrier assembly to alleviate the problems, and his name was Ruger.
Hence the Ruger Mk series
