I finished Episode Two an hour ago and the ending ripped me up so badly, that I had to distract myself; I loaded the last chapter once more, this time along with "developer commentaries"(fantastic feature btw, plain genious) and that was when I got THE impression of Merle Dandridge; She and Alyx seem so much alike somehow. Obvioulsy this clip had me swept of my feet! xD

HALF LIFE 2 is far more amusing, mind blowing and emotionally engaging than ANY other game and 90% of all movies I´ve seen!

Her voice acting is superb - mostly good-natured gung-ho stuff. But the emotional ending - her voice nearly had me in tears, gut-wrenching.

It makes so much difference when the voices are well acted, like Sean Bean and Terrance Stamp in "Oblivion". You become part of the story instead of just playing a game.

Also a shout-out for the woman who does GlaDos in Half-LIfe: Portal - she was brilliant as well; a classically trained stage actress and opera singer!

@jazzx251 nice meeting you! Yes and not only was the voice acting great, but also the way they synced the animations to it (nudges, hugs, gestures etc). Speaking of the voice acting alone I quite agree with you on Oblivion. And when it comes to whether body language is well acted or not, much is decided by what personality the intended characters have I think. So I can´t completely stamp the Oblivion npcs for being unrealistic.

But the action and story flows better in HL2, plus there´s humor.
