Joey - The First 19 Months of a 22 week Preemie

he is precious! My siblings were born at 22 weeks, 1 day. My mom had triplets, 2 boys and 1 girl. Luke was 1lbs 1oz, Joshua was15.9 ounces, and Annalynn was 12 ounces. Luke passed away after just 10 days, Joshua passed after just 1 month, and Annalynn pulled through, she spent over 9 months in the NICU and came home on oxygen and a monitor. Annalynn started walking at 12 months (8 months adjusted). Today Annalynn is 18 months old and wearing 9 months clothes, but healthy as can be!

Thank you for posting! God is good! Praise Him for your miracle, I'm so happy for you. I lost my Eden Elisha when she was born 22wks 4days. The doctor said they could do nothing & wldn't unless she was 24wks (a week & 3days later he says they wld have tried to save her). We now have our rainbow baby (child born after loss). I am so happy that the hospital did all they could for your precious baby....my son was not so lucky, the hospital refused to help him....he was 22 weeks 6 days gestation...born breathing on his own sucking his thumb and weighing over 1IB, lived 2 hours 30 minutes with no help and they never took the time to suction his respiratory system...this proves my hospital was wrong! babies can live born this early....god bless you I am happy for your blessing

I am mother to 32 w preemie and gave birth due to IUGR problem. My baby was just 910 g due to placenta insufficiency. Watching how your son determination to grow is amazes me. I hope my son will gain weight faster and be as healthy as other fullterm kids. Your son is adorable!

it upsets me to see the "changing of position" dun like this. if the head is facing in one direction and you flip the body over you've turned the neck the other way. if you then turn the head as well you've just left the neck in the privies angle. thus hassling the baby through a lot of movement that actually left him in his original position.

i was a premmie myself, i was 3 months early, died 3times, but one time i acutly died died, which is comfusing but true, i also have a scar on my left shoulder blade, Because the doctors/hospital had to do surgery on my heart/near my heart, cause i stopped breathing something like that.. but im also a blessing to my parents and thous around me:)

God has definitely blessed you. My daughter was born at 28 weeks premature. She was on oxygen and had to have two transfusions, but she did not have to come home on the oxygen, nor did she have to come home on a monitor. She is home now and 3 months old and just last night she was staring at our living room couch, giggling. I don't understand how some people say that babies only make it at 24 weeks, and then say that that's a reason to abort. Thank you for sharing this.

This video was great... Truly a miracle! God has blessed you indeed. I think back to how much harder it must have been for the doctors and nurses who cared for me when I was born because they didn't have the medical technology they have today... You see, I was born at 25 weeks. Weighed 2 lbs 2 oz. This was in 1957... I am now 53 years old. God is GOOD! All the time!

Joey is doing great, much better than we ever expected or dreamed during his first year, but I do not believe there are any babies born this early that do not have some continuing issues. We are so blessed that every month his issues are fewer and fewer. He is very smart, very happy and a joy to be around.

@ZajSki Thank you for posting that. I have a 28 weeker who is now two months, and even though she may be a little behind, she seems to be acting like any two month old. She now thinks that since mommy is breastfeeding her she can take as long as she wants, even if that may be an hour and a half, so now we are trying to get her off that bad habit. Lol! But she is doing great too, and getting ready to graduate the NICU. So glad for God's blessings.

this is how parents care the baby spending every second with baby but when baby grew up and become young he never listen the parents he do whatever he like. he must care parents when parents get old bcz parents are turning to the child stage from old stage. its sign for wisdom.

Our daughter was 1 lb. 7 oz. and 10" long as a 26 weeker. She is now 8 and doing great! you will have hours and hours of OT, PT and speech as well as probably some sensory issues. All worth it. All worth it!
