Absolutely the most original & melodic vocal group of the era! Leroy Griffin - sweet lead & Leroy McNeil - superb base. They sounded like no other group & no other group sounded like them. They defined & still define true accapella - musical accompaniment just added further dimension to their sound. Leroy Griffen wrote pure poetry - listen intently to the lyrics - their harmony flowed more fluid than water. They are all gone now but what gifts they left for us to enjoy throughout time
i love this music... doo wop, aw :) its awesome, wish i was born in those days , it makes me so sad :( must have been unbelievable and the music is timeless. cant believe how this world is going backwards... its so sad.
dzdiesel -Those groups you mentioned were great also, naïve on my part but I do not recognize The Hollywood Saxons but I may know a song or two if you mention them.
Until I was about 25 my favorite group were the Channels, they used to hang out at a gym that went to in NYC. What a pleasure to communicate with a person that appreciates group harmony.

Glad you like it. But this isn't Old School. This is the original Rock 'n' Roll. It pre-dates Elvis by several years. The King took Rock 'n' Roll into new directions, but if you listen to his early records, he used the group sound extensively.
I am only 33 and I have been listening to do wop since I was 12! I am glad that we have youtube because we can listen to dowop anytime we want now!! I just think todays music has no talent or is creative like the oldies. Keep posting these wonderful do wop songs!
one of the greatest voices of the doowop era story untold a classic leroy griffin the way he died was a tragedy 1966 a loss of such an awesome singer many thanks for posting
