  • I love this episode, it's so surreal! (Is it ever explained why Margaret and Mrs Warboys are wearing the same dress?). It's also great to see Victor getting some validation, I never thought he was a terrible old man, he's just always in the wrong place or the wrong time and surrounded by idiots/cretins! Nice one Mr Meldrew!

  • 5:57 That is all

  • I must have watched the whole series about 5 times back to back by now. The name Meldrew sounds weirder and weirder the more times I hear it.

Great show to start the New Year off though, Happy New Year all!

  • Ahahah brilliant episode all the way through

  • what language are you talking in now? it appears to be bollocks!

  • I nealy fogot to call you an evil losan bastard

  • my favouirte ep of one foot in the grave

  • This episode really confirms that Victor is a good man but is a victim of lifes jokes.

  • My god this got very dark very quickly..! :O

And then Victor saves the day?!!

  • awwws XD i love that rabbit ^^ ..... and aww, at least Victor has a kind heart deep down

  • ...Dont you just wish it had been 'Dexter Morgan' from the Tv show Dexter who had been visiting the old peoples home...

  • random fact. the TV show their watching is an episode of bottom. It features the same actress who played the escaped convict that victor repiorted to the police in the last episode lol

  • @chubbylilloser85 A sitcom within a sitcom, it's Inception with comedy. "Eddie how dare you!!! "

  • This is an example of how wrong people look at Victor Meldrew. He isn't a crabby old bastard he can just see how bad the world is and tries to fix it all.

  • Wow didnt expect them 2 start beatin that old man up.

  • I want that rabbit, not Bugs, the real one, it's soooo cute :)

  • This episode has been edited since it was first broadcast on TV, due to viewers complaining about the scenes where the staff were abusing the elderly residents

I think there was a scene, which showed the other woman being throw into the cupboard, in this clip, she was already their when victor looked through the letterbox.

The unedited version has never been released or repeated since its first broadcast.

  • This episode has it all, comedy, drama and justice!

The treatment of the old people in the home makes my blood boil, even though it's fiction.

Go Victor Meldrew, the Lone Ranger!

  • Isn't that the caretaker from "As time goes by"? lol

  • victor has a big heart really =) he did them carers up like a kipper .

  • "I very nearly forgot to call you an evil loathsome bastard"

    LOL

  • I've never seen this episode before, It's one of the best episodes. Also one of the darkest.

I dread to think what the elderly in some care homes these days have to go through. Some might be being abused similar to this too. There's certainly signs of neglect in some of them these days. E.g. leaving them to starve or dehydrate. It's fucking horrific.

My Grandad has dementia and had to be briefly put in a care home when he broke a toe. And in that home, there were signs of neglect too.

  • @Darkstar263 II used to work in one i would say as high as 50% of homes arent run properly.

  • I love this episode! Victor Meldrew saves the day!

  • Victor Meldrew's a badass

  • woah, dark episode. don't watch this high!

  • what did he do with the cement?

  • @TheJuicyfruitx he put their feet in it and made scarecrows out of them

  • @CanadaCob oh, lol

  • whats so funny about 8:21?

  • "Eddie how dare you!" Lol, they're watching Bottom! That big guy orderly was a guest actor in one episode as "Skullcrusher" something.

  • @kwelboss Skullcrusher Henderson

  • @kwelboss And being utterly sad they're watching the Digger episode =)

  • The complaints of the violence in this episode were laughable, (there were sadly directly after transmission). What were those who complained expecting to happen? The violence was necessary and it was the whole point of the episode! Didn't the title Hearts of Darkness give them any kind of clue? Good old OFITG for taking a chance again. Savage, but brilliant, and great to see Victor being the hero for once! That was simply his moment.

  • @terrycharnley I agree, goes on all the time, Victor sorted those nasties out!

  • this is why i love one foot in the grave, it takes situations like the abuse of old people, and turns it back on the abuser and gives them a ruddy good thrashing

  • this is dark stuff but superb

  • This is brilliant. It's interesting to see Meldrew playing the hero. Usually he is the underdog.

  • @KingofStarfox I think there have been other heroic moments. What about whipping off the toff's toupe? Or when he invited the computer salesman round after carving him up on the dual carriageway! Bloody brilliant!

  • "I'm sorry what language are you speaking now? It appears to be bollocks."

  • @nevfx ive seen every episode but that has to be my favorite quote :P
