Every vehicle need not been through hell and weathered..I drove a Bradley (peace time) mine will be a replica of what I drove,,,now the insignia will be AUTHENTIC which I find fake on 90% of modelers vehicles..so F them...I LIKED your stuff....every vehicle need not been in war to be real. On mine....back left side: 1-Cav 2nd line left side 2-5 Cav.....Right side....C-31....Stands for 1st cav Division, 2nd Battalion 5th Infantry Regiment, Charlie Company, 3rd platoon, 1st Squad. thers more fake
That's a really nice collection you've got there. Always nice to see someone with the same passion for 1:35 scale armour as me! BTW, I agree with you about the whole weathering thing, I prefer the 'fresh out of the factory' look as well!
AMAZING....fuck the guys saying to weather there are different styles...i prefer to weather tanks and military vehicles and i dont like to weather jet fighters except WWII planes but thats my preference, keep up to GREAT work, i hope to see more videos like this from you soon
for grease marks or airflow stains use black paint or crayola markers and draw a line where you want the mark and smear it with your finger or tissue, for chunky mud use any type of powder (i use chalk powder i grounded up) and mix it with brown paint and dab it on make sure you dont brush it on it has to be DABBED on,
for scratches use any shiny metal colored paint and drybrush which is getting the brushed covered in paint and whipping most of it off on a tissue and rubbing lightly over the parts which creates a scratched look.
"Wash" your models by applying highly thinned oil colors (burnt sienna, raw umber) in thin layers. Use white spirit or gas for lighters for thinning. A coat of clear acrylic varnish should be applied before to protect the paint.
When the model looks "dirty" enough let it dry for 2 or 3 days, apply thinned, dark oil color to all recessed lines, welding seams and around small details. Let dry at least a few hours and use q-tips to wipe away the color you don't want.
esclapez is totally right, weathering will totally bring them up a notch...try some some diluted brown paint with rubbing alchohol in a 1:6 ratio...it will totally make your models better.
Good collection keep it up. Not to sure about the music lol If you do any more like British world war 2 i would realy like to see them but like i say its a good collection enjoyed it
Well, for starters, most of these models were built a while back when I didn't even put paint on most of them. And back then I would have probably destroyed most of them by trying weathering :) I did do some weathering on some of the more recent ones, but I really like the new factory fresh look so its just my preference.
It looks like you are referring to the Duce and a half (2.5 ton) truck and the Sherman tank. Both are produced by Tamiya. The truck has stowage that also comes in a set from Tamiya.
It really depends on the experience you might have. Tamiya Models are great builds out of the Box but there is still plenty of room for a novice to screw things up.
Good luck and let me know if you have any questions.
great collection, i am thinking of purchased the tiger 1 mid production model after a long absence from the hobby, which do you think are the best detailed and quality models, trumpeter, tamiya or academy?
Tamiya is by far the best quality IMO, but Trumpeters recent releases have been nice also. Academy has decent models too, but once in a while you come across fit problems. You may also want to check out AFV, I hear they have a better Stryker than Trumpeter. After-market kits can also make a huge difference in how a model looks too.
Actually been trying weathering a lot lately, and it is actually somewhat easy. Dry-brushing's probably the best way to get the mud effect, and for rust and the sort, a metallizer paint or just brown mixed with thinner works fine. Weathering tracks is a pain, especially on the 155mm AS-90 I'm doing now, damn big tank.
Get a little bit of paint on the tip of the brush and with Post-It notes (or paper) wipe the paint off until just a bit is left. That's about the best I can tell you through writing. It's a lot lot lot easier to learn when someone actually shows you.
Dude, "absopositively" excellent job. These tanks look Gooooood. I am also a modeler and enjoy Soviet/Russian tanks. Tanks are a little more difficult than planes, helicopters, or other vehicles and you did a flawless job. (Thats one bad ass T-55). Salaam.
hey...im not trying to be rude...im a modeler too, and you have built alot of very nice lookin ones...they just seem out of the box...have you tried any thing like weathering or super-detailing...trust me it would add a great touch...you do get the figures really well though...BUY AN AIRBRUSH AND COMPRESSOR..TRUST ME!!!and learn to use it...but great job on the builds...they look good
Thanks, I have gone with extra detail on some of them with resin kits, and have only done weathering on the M10, which is really hard to see not only because the resolution on youtube is horrible, but the tank is a dark color to begin with. I have that cheap Tamiya airbrush, but only use it for colors that don't come in spray-paint cans.
yea dude.....iv been building models out of the box, not even that great, and im trying to learn how to apply weathering, like rust, sand, and just a better look of the main color of the tank, because myn somtiems glows and i dont want that effect

Gott0300 2 years ago
You should practice the oil color thing on some old model, it's a bit tricky, but when you got it down, it looks awesome!
Oil colors take a long time to dry, so they can be washed away quite easily, leaving just a subtle effect...
Have fun!!! :)

You don't always have to use weathering. I prefer it,but some of the models look pretty nice when they've come out of the production line.
