  • 2:56 are those tire rims?? Incredible!

  • Can someone tell me the wheels are real wheels?

  • Pause at 0:56

    Haha. Never gets old.

  • Do you know that I am a pianist?

  • The chinky Asian conductot is jumpy as fuck

  • Eroica lol.

  • wheels, Oh Yeah!

  • i can see car rims in this video! HAHA!!!

  • mag wheels? 0.0

  • i want this music to be played when i ever i win a competition

  • 3:47 - Bruce Willis is that you?lmao..

  • I wouldn't beable to play an instrument with that conductor id be lmfao at him

  • Great performance :) but I find the volume of the video a little too low. I turned up the volume on both the video and all the way up on my iMac and when that happens my music is blasting. At full volume this was just right. Still, fantastic performance!

  • Clap clap clap ^^

  • AMAZING!!!!! i love !!

  • AMZING!!!!! i love !!

  • to the 367 dislikes ones u can kiss my music loving ass XD this was awesome

  • I'm listening to this in 2004...

  • thumbs up if you listen this at 2011

  • @lolkia1 Why does it matter that this is 2011.

  • Tan Dun looks so happy!

  • *0* WOW!!

  • I love that. I got chills at the end.

  • Its not really that great... its not that moving... sorry to say...

  • I love the conductor. You can really tell he loves what he does

  • @Thebombjizz this is why i inspire and dream to become a conductor

  • @Thebombjizz I love his music too, he did the music for Hidden Dragon, Crouching Tiger. Also House of Flying Daggers.

  • @Thebombjizz Should check out other stuff he's composed. My favorite is HERO. Love the lead viola through much of that score. Awesome!

  • Youtube's new theme song

  • not going to lie. i had goosebumps hearing this.

  • i really wish the only 'non-dissonant part' other than those from eroica and jasmine flower (or turandot if you like) were not plagarizing and actually by tan dun.

  • @lincolnyu I agree with you there. The whole thing is amazingly orchestrated, but the main melodic theme is really cheesy in comparison to the wonderful effect of the other sections.

  • 367 people prefer to watch Justin Beiber on YouTube.

  • bed intruder song brought me here

  • 0:55 ATTAAAACK!

  • I saw him perform it at Interlochen, Michigan

  • @fishboy1998 so'd i...did you attend?

  • I hate England but this is badass.

  • @Losondc

What does an Internet Symphony have to do with England? And why do you hate England?

  • @SirSebastianWang Hahaha i'm a Kiwi maybe i hate England because of Rugby......But London symphony is great i gotta admit.....nothing serious outside a Rugby match.

  • @Losondc

    Oh, haha, sorry.

  • @SirSebastianWang "Eroica" was performed by the London Symphony Orchestra.....

  • @greenraptor333

I know, but just because it was performed by the LSO doesn't mean it really has to do with the whole country.

  • @SirSebastianWang and the other : Don't speak, just listen !

  • I like how he mixes it up different types of cultures.

  • Dear Mr. Dun: If you should somehow happen to find these comments, I actually have nothing whatsoever to hide. Should you wish to communicate, I would like you to do so upon proof of identity, of course. I'm avocationally music-obsessive. Sincerely: LIBFX, an id inspired by John Lennon goo . gl / qBFHU (I don't own YouTube. You have to remove any space(s.) I find notepad helps immensely.)
  • Though I of course would not want to overstay my welcome, I see no reason

not to add a comment furthering what precedes / follows.

I think you are a computer with a singularity.

I think the universe is a computer. but it's moral. all stupid prior, I think is a conveyed telling lesson in science morality history.

So, when Oliver Sachs' lightning strike was like double clicking a music file,

it was not a music / curiosity-rlgn freak alone.

It's actually telling how to travel to the stars.

  • This British orchestra has gone to great lengths, visibly (it freaks me out) to

mimic the natural sounds (see below--one or two of you will ultimately find in

my profile this involves music and neurology, a common thing lately.)

As to why that matters, see below.

I'm personally about a theory of everything wrong and dumb telling of a

    hidden science. and suddenly, right.

    have a nice day

  • Though Chinese instruments should obviously be integrated bit by bit into

Western orchestras, it is demonstrably obvious these (mostly?) Britons understood the full idea.

Mr. Dun was originally inspired by natural sounds. Chinese instruments lend themselves better to that.

By saying nature is musical he is saying, because music is data, that nature is

    data.

So what do you suppose? Information lives? Is it sensual? better: sensuous?

Mr. Dun will be of interest to many in all fields.

  • Hey check out my Orchestra Vast Universe I just finished it yesterday and I think you will like it. Tell me what you think!!!

    watch?v=afCA261oIJ0

  • Press 1 while playing the video... and again... and again..

  • wow..

  • RIP Maurice Murphy (trumpet soloist in 1:07)

he is noted for his solo works in star wars and indiana jones and much more.

  • I love this symphony so much, now it's summer vacation here. I will try to come here to enjoy this symphony everyday.

  • Those Rims will need a wheel balance after all that beating.

  • Outsourcing is so dominant in the american mind that nowadays an american company orders a symphony to a chinese composer.

  • "Eroica" is, by far, one of the best pieces of music I've ever heard. Tan Dun looks like if the music was getting control of him, that is how a conductor should conduct.

  • muito lindo.

    parabens para todos!!!!!!!!!!!

  • His Facial expressions reflect the music perfectly.

  • great!!! brake disc and rims can be Musical Instrument, first time see that happen.

  • why is he holding the baton like that?

  • Is that Wilford Brimley at 1:15?

  • I feel like that was a promo for a movie about Tan Dun.

  • aaaaahhhhh music. a great triumph of man, much like art, literature, and sports.

  • thanks YOUTUBE, bring us the new world of watching video!

  • This sounds like a compilation of mobile phone ringtones.

  • que hermoso

  • Were can i download the mp3 to this?

  • just doesn't feel to have much of a direction/flow :/ some little phrases in the middle are nice, but some things you just have to ask what was the point?

  • Sponsored by honda...

  • It sounds very much like the composer wrote the piece because he had to write a symphony, not because he had some feeling he wanted to express.

What makes the romanic symphonies so great is often that they have a very strong theme behind them: Dvorak's 9th was inspired by the fascination of the New World, Bruckner's 4th by the beautiful forests around Vienna (I guess), and Tchaikovsky's music by deep Russian feelings (am I correct there?).

  • @surfcello he wrote this having the inspiration from the streets of China during the Beijing Olympics

  • @kmkent Ok, sorry, my mistake. But maybe the atmosphere there was too complicated to paint just a simple emotional picture of? I don't know, I wasn't there.

  • Seriously a beautiful symphony, but that conductor's facial gestures are hilarious!

  • The conductor is similar to the boy playing Harry Potter :D

  • I honestly don't like it that much... The the format of the piece seems a bit too manufactured.

  • Oh my goodness, SUCH. BEAUTIFUL. MUSIC. <333 i smiled through the Entire video ! :)

  • Pause at 0:56!

  • Fantastic!!!

  • @LeonR246 don't worry; it may not be mainstream anymore, but there will always be an appreciation for classical

  • Tan Dun's improvised music was so awesome. Tan arranged and created his own percussion like car wheels and mags of the car! Wow! So fantastic and wonderful musical arrangement! This is an EPIC SUCCESS!!! Yipeekahyay!!!

  • I like this alot

  • Maurice really was amazing. Such beautiful playing.

  • Lovely, have a great day xoxo

  • i got to sat it 0:54 - 0:56 JIZZ IN MY PANTS

  • I think Tan Dun is bipolar o_0

  • why?

  • AUDI AG starts to make music instruments for sure. Rims were from 2009 A8 and rotors maybe the one on R8?

  • Mirko Saltalamacchia - Fotosints Clorophilla

  • I disliked this video for one reason is because I wasn't there.

  • Tan Dun looks like a grown up version of Nathaniel from Yo Gabba Gabba. XD

  • RIP Maurice

  • like this if you now regret not continuing your music lessons as a child

  • The end bit sounds just like something else. What is it?!?!?!?!? I know it's gonna be really obvious.

  • if you wanna enjoy this even more, watch from the beginning but pretend tan dun is in a kung fu film :)

  • Thumbs up if thought it was "Erotica"

  • @LeonR246 i say forever!!!

  • At 4:00, the conductor looks like he super tired

    Thumbs up if you agree.

  • 0:46 one of the most graceful moves I've seen a cunductor do in a long time.

  • Why on earth is there a reference to Justin Bieber on EVERY classical music video on this site?

  • Like srsly, what does Justin Bieber has to do with orchestral music?

  • How can someone dislike this?

Sorry Justin Bieber, but this is a billion times better then you

  • @lolitango you fail.

  • Apparently you can play RIMS now

  • @theinevitable32 and don't forget the break disks

  • Recently I took part in a counselling programme for senior orchestral musicians.

Many talked of the profound rage felt at the sloppy attitude of colleagues & audiences, seemingly not caring about the music. Bizarre fantasies constantly plagued their minds. Some thought about bringing guns to concerts & shooting into the audience. One even had a poster of his “hero” Seung-Hui Cho above his bed.

We issued a report with graphic, clear warnings about this situation, but heard nothing back.

  • i wish i could be part of an orchestra but I can't play an orchestra instrument :(

  • @Holycrap27 well unless you play a sax you can be in an orchestra or you can learn an orchestra instrument.

  • @XxXxFRENCHHORNXxXx In junior high I played alto sax and was part of the schools orchestra....i was 1st chair most of the time and we also had a baritone sax and soprano sax section....we did many classical pieces and contemporary ones as well....we performed at the malls and in concerts and in competitions with other schools.

  • This song was bought in iTunes so this never really happened.... But it's still cool

  • Comment removed

  • Who are the 356 Justin Bieber Fans who thumbed this down?

  • oh my god... sooo beautiful, it made me cry...

  • do conductors have to be eccentric?

  • @TranslucentPlenum - Yes, because they FEEL the music.

  • Tan Dun looks like jacky chen when he turns 80 years :D

  • a symphony for youtube ......

  • My teacher says this is REAL music because the songs today are just like poems... I somehow agree with him but i also like the ones today!

  • @BeauJames59 defiantly attributed to Beethoven with the title and the main motive from the eroica at 3:12 and definitely other places! Great piece (the Eroica by Tan Dun and the Eroica by Beethoven!)

  • defiantly attributed to Beethoven with the title and the main motive from the eroica at 3:12 and definitely other places! Great piece (the Eroica by Tan Dun and the Eroica by Beethoven!)

  • Tan Dun looks like he conducts using kung fu moves XD

  • This is beautifull Thanks for the upload

  • 4:55 You know thats what he looked like when he first came...

  • I actually liked it better when it was an online collaborative effort, rather than a live thing.

  • Gosh, I HOPE the title "Eroica" isn't already attributed to one of the greatest pieces of all time and additionally would make those involved look 10 times more ridiculous for using such a title since we are 200 years FURTHER away from using Latin in common speech......just sayin!

  • @BeauJames59 Don't be stupid..

  • - Imaginative and smooth !

  • I tried to audition for this but I just could not figure out his conducting.

  • I love ... It was perfect!!

  • I love this=D

  • I just listened to this version and the one by the YTSO at Carnegie Hall. Even to the untrained ear, you can tell the two apart. Unless I'm being fooled by acoustics and recording quality, the LSO has a noticeably more refined, polished sound than the YTSO. Then again, some may find that the fresh sound of the YTSO may actually fit the theme of this piece more.

.. oh and Tan Dun seems to have changed the ending slightly between the 2 performances.

  • Awwwwwe, couldn't you have made it a little bit longer, at least and hour or so?

  • at 0:47 ARE THOSE RIMS??

  • @jillhbaudhaan Break disks

  • @dancindrumsticks08 the 3 big round things hanging in the sky?

  • @2:39 the blonde guy looks lik Amir from college humor

  • RIP Maurice Murphy

  • No offense, but Tan Dun didn't do Beethovan and his Eroica much justice -- the original is much better.

  • watch?v=ASXwC2uL0Gc ogladac i oceniac ::):):):)!!!

  • what are the complicated instruments at around 1.56?

  • @fstoney 1:56 contains a cut between two different instruments. The first one is a french horn, the second is trombone. They are both complicated really.

  • @fstoney u could be talking about the french horns... or the trombone...

  • @icReview yeah, A550RGY pointed this out to me as well. i meant the one at 1.54, but as i didn't know the ones at 1.57, i guess i learnt two things in one go :)

    thanks for the reply!!
