Hi! Thanks so much for this video and the explanation! I discovered your videos a while ago and I really like your style, very dreamy. I didn't know it was called "Sustained spinning" and I tried doing it, but when I do, I look like...a duck with a leg problem, or a wounded animal, it's quite bad. But most of all, I feel extremely dizzy! Plus I cannot get the hoop to go slowly enough, even though I use a 39" hoop...Any advice on how to get rid of the dizziness? (other than practice...) thanks!
Fantastic and as always, inspiring! Thanks for the description of the visualizations--this is wonderful! I was wondering if you could give a little more advice for this practice. You mention footwork--how would you describe what you are doing with your feet? And how do you keep from getting dizzy? I feel with practice I am getting less stumbling dizzy, but wondered if there are specific techniques you use. Many thanks for sharing these videos!
You make these exercises look so simple! The explanation was incredibly helpful and seeing you do an entire video of variations on the one technique really helped me visualize how to center & work with the negative space. I'll have to keep the pottery example in mind next time I do sustained spinning!
Also... random note... but maybe you could just post your musical selection with each video? I was wondering what song this was, and I know you get that question an awful lot on your videos. ^_^
awesome! you have totally inspired me to do way more with sustained spinning. i love the ceramics analogy. another thing about it that i've found is that you have to really remove your focus from the things directly around you - that will make you so dizzy, obviously. i try to keep my eyes slightly upward with a really soft focus
That is what I love most about your style, your sustained spinning. You have such perfect grace and balance. Your moves are so mesmerizing. I love your analogy of working with clay, it is an experience I can draw from and make sense of. Hooping has been helping me with my balance already one day I hope to be able to master sustained spinning and you are my constant inspiration.
Free notes! Thank you! Will have to practice this. U look beautiful, Mona, and so does the sustained spinning! I love your outfit :) Do you use weighted or light weighted hoops? Just wondering. Which do you like better? Merry Christmas!
Loved your spinning, very nice. I needed this, as I'm practicing sustained spinning a lot more. Thanks for using an analogy, I learn better when I look at relations! -3
i love your hooping skills! and you always chose some real chill tracks to hoop to. who is this track by and what's it called? oh and merry christmas!
