Something about duct tape ... if the temperature is too hot or too coal it will not hold little thing like this just prove the moon landing was all a hoax...
@THREESIXNINE100 Hey you forgot about the shadows. And the waving flag. And the rest of the brilliant observations you made asses of yourselves with.
@Blahblobify I hear you man, I hear you. If you don't spend time explaining 1+1=2 the freaks come out of the woodwork claiming 1+1=3, and they attract followers who believe 'em & then they multiply. Sad fact of life...
1st, it's wrong to assume that everything on the day side of the moon is 107C. All EVAs took place at lunar morning. TEMPERATURE MODERATED WITH MOVEMENT. 2nd, nothing on an LRV was constantly exposed to direct solar radiation (remember, there's no air, so radiation is the only way for heat to be exchanged). 3rd, the fender fix was TEMPORARY and also used clamps. 4th, 3M has created many forms of duct tape, including high temperature grades. Ex: Kapton polymide PST can handle 260C for an hour.
actually the NASA rule was unless it was ten year old technology proven to work i wasn't going to fly on apollo for safety reasons so shut your ugly dumb fucking stupid mouth forever.
This duct-tape repair, to the front fender of the vehicle, did not work. The dirt didn't allow the glue-adhesive to bond. Video taken after this one shows the astronauts covered in dirt from the missing fender.
see duct tape will not work on the moon or in any space enviornment becase the adhesive will contain solvents the glue will freeze and it wont be stick or it will boil off its solvents and leave a powder in its place. all just like on earth. some idiot even suggest i wasnt duct tape but klapton but 3m never put an adhesive on the plastic untill 1982 long after the moon landings. do research and you will read it was ordinary duct tape in the MOVIE. buy and i do hope i have pissed some people off.
I can hardly open a roll of tape with my bare hands yet the astronauts with really tick gloves had no problem besides any kind of tape used on an extremely hot temperature won't work now to think of it 250 degrees hot
dont be dumb. Who said it was 250 degrees hot?? The moon is vacuum fool. Temperature transmission only by radiation. The maximum temperature of the moon SOIL is 250 degrees. That temperature doesnt even reaches the duct tape.
@rogerpenna your absolutly right about that vacuum the sun heated the tape not the soil and the near perfect vacuum keeps the heat in the roll. it would be about as useful as a role of bubble gum. why do you mention soil temp, are you stuck on stupid? as proof experts say solar cells are about six time better in space because of no atmosphere so you can bet your sweet ass the roll is getting pretty damn hot. did i mention the vaccum will keep it hot you see in a vaccum it cant transfer heat.
you fail to understand that a solar cell is made to ABSORB light. A duct tape is silvery, it reflects most light, thus, it doesnt heat as much.
also, if sunlight heated everything exposed on the moon so fast, the maximum soil temperature on the moon would be like 5000 degrees, after 14 days exposed to sunlight! Can you explain how it only heats to 250 degrees in 14 days exposed to sunlight in the vacuum?
@rogerpenna no duct tape is silver its grey, the soil has contact with the moon interior, transmission of heat inward is clearly a given, now back to that duct tape adhesive, it has solvents that would cook out leaving behind a dry non adhesive powder, just like on earth.

just got to say if that guy made the video on the moon, where are all the stairs, and in most videos about *1st man on the moon" how did they make sparks comeing off the tools with no air ?!?!?! its not real, prolly used to make people think that duct tape is that perfect...
Learn a bit more about film and photo, in particular shutter stops, aperture and exposure and you wouldn't need to ask this question. But put simply if the filters were opened enough to see the stars, everything would be so bright you could really only see their outlines. It's like wearing sunglasses in the snow, to stop the glare.
The duct tape only held for a short time and a more secure repair was later made.

I swear I remember an incident of this and the astronaut instinctively trying to blow the dust off, and laughing because he simply fogged his helmet.
If I didn't dream it, there must be video of it that I'd sure love to see!

Are you stupid? Metal doesnt need air to get hot..... And whats a spark? A peice of really hot metal. Your mom should have faked your birth.
