Is This TOTP's Or SuperSonic? Either Way, It Still Rocks (sortof)…
I Bought This Single That Summer, Surprised To Find The Name 'C Berry' In Small Type On The 45 - "Oh, THAT Johnny!" (in my def: i was 12, & there were alot of things i didn't know - still are, for that matter...still are)
I used to see SGB at Barberellas in brum around the mid 70,s. I never understood why they never achieved superstardom. they were the best live band in England at the time. and Steve was a fantastic front man. Great days!!!!
@brumgez I used to roadie for Steve a bit in those days. Got to see some great bands Steve supported at Barbs like Thin Lizzy, Alex Harvey, Gong and Babe Rurh. Did you ever catch Steve in those days at the Incognito just off Hurst St. on a saturday lunch time? I've had many a Newcastle brown breakfast then.
@BrummyRH I used to practically live there in those days and played gob iron with Steve Ajao on Friday nights. The bass player Bob Griffen was married to Iris out of Crossroads and Ali and Brian from UB40 would be there too, what a scene it was for a grotty little back street boozer - and the stop backs .........
I live in telford and used to go to barbarellas in brum in the mid 2 late 70's is that the same one? Had the pleasure of watching Steve Gibbons (And in Shrewsbury) plus blondie duran duran many more great times
@bluesy365a yes mate the same one seen wreckless eric with ian dury on drums, stranglers, the damned, undertones, heavy metal kids, slade,999,eddie and the hot rods, plus many more, great days, big regret couldnt get in for blondie was it a good gig.

My uncle, Peter Meaden, was their first manager along with Bill Curbishley. He was around with them when they recorded this song. They really are great and have done so many good songs. I'm surprised they are not very famous today.
Seen them live in Bristol Colston Hall in about 1978 and they were great - the Cerwin Vega P.A. system they were going through was awsome. Keep Rockin !
Steve Gibbons is the personthat got me into rock and roll. He is underrated and under-appreciated. I hope that You Tube and associated technologies bring this brilliant performer back into the public realm.
'ROCKIN'!!! Is the 'Trevor Burton' on Bass, the same 'Trevor' that played, with 'Steve Gibbons',(founder member), of 60's group, 'The Uglys'? PS Has 'Steve Gibbon's' got ant live 'Gig's lined up 4 2009??? Any info gratefully received. THANX. x
Unless I'm very much mistaken, the guitarist in the hat is Trevor Burton, who played in The Move with Roy Wood (later of ELO and Wizzard) and Bev Bevan (also later of ELO). They had hits with Blackberry Way, Fire Brigade and Flowers In The Rain.

That was Bob Doyles Texserve system that for it's time was amazing.
Bob went on to ML Executive (The Who company) at Shepperton then SSL and then went to Klark Teknik as salesman for Midas mixers. He is now at DigiCo.
