  • You, sir. You are freaking awesome :D You should get a medal for that ;D

Also, Clever thinking to use RC car mechanics on the helmet's faceplate.

  • looks AWESOME., I love how some guys just take household stuff and make it, unlike the armor kits... I just think without a DIY molded kit, I'm gonna screw it up lol I just don't have the time for this awesome stuff XD

  • How do you activate the servo to close the face plate?

  • Now that's cool!

  • He made it in a basement! with a cardboard box and scraps!

  • Pretty awswm

  • BRILLIANT!!! But did you have to follow any template or pattern? Majority of the work done of Iron Man is from a pepakura purchased template. I've made my own Iron Man costume from scratch with no guide but pics and the movie itself. Needless to say I've made tons of mistakes! But yours is the BEST I've seen on YouTube dude! Short of saying "I can't help but think you were the actual designer and builder of the Suit in the movie itself!". Truly a gifted man Mr. Tony Stark!

  • i was hoping if the helmet could automatic close and its real, its awsome, this armor just need fly and laser(but this 1 is for halloween)

  • head's a little skinny tho, other than that, it's BEEAAST

  • You got mad skills. Now make it fly! j/k.

The 6 people who disliked this video must have run out of duct tape and cardbord.

  • Hello fellow iron man fan. Any chance you can make a tutorial of the helmet mechanics? Would be great to put it in my suit

  • @Simmons2677 Hey! If you check out the link in the description you can find an explanation of how I did it, I'll try to put up a more in-depth tutorial once I have a bit of free time. I will warn you though, on a scale of difficulty between 1 and 10, this would definitely be a 10.

  • Dam 4 months making the suit ,I want one xD

  • lol I like the end.

  • Props thats badass!!!

  • I want one , would you make me one if I had the money?

  • good work man..think it as business with faster and economic methods to build many with a pre sale orders and customization.

  • Well done man! That looks wicked!

  • omg that is frekin amazing!

  • Sooo....I really...really....want to integrate the automatic faceplate into a motorcycle helmet...Any tips?

  • Siiiiiiick dude

  • Should win first prize at a con if you entered.

  • All that detail and you forgot the goatee

  • I've seen home made Iron Man costumes that look epic like this one before, BUT the mechanics that allow the face plate to lift up automatically, that just brings it to a WHOLE new level of BAD ASS!!

  • I Think im a nerd :(! i really want this thing :S

  • GREAAATTT homemade costume dude..

  • fucking hell man You're cool as fuck I WANT ONE

  • teach me

  • awesomne

  • Wow! This is awesome! I'm a fan of making homemade costumes, rather than buying them. Give you a feeling of accomplishment.

I'd like to make a suit like this one eventually. I know you mentioned using RC car parts for the helmet, but it looks as though you still had to flip it up? Or am I just looking at it wrong?

  • @MrSampleName Thanks! Yes, unfortunately the RC motor I used was not powerful enough to pull the faceplate up on its own, but i discovered if I flip it up a bit it goes up. For this reason this isn't the BEST way to automate a faceplate, but at about $30 overall you can't beat the price!

  • Make me one :3

  • I want one! I'll pay! Seriously!

  • What if you have to piss?

  • GOOD work

  • how much

  • Hhhhhhhoooooollllllyyyyy FUCk!

  • but can it fly?? hmmm?

  • orgasm

  • soo cool

  • how do u get out of the suit

  • @Joseramirez0597 I take everything off in this order (reversed is how I put it on) Gloves, chest, arms, helmet, back, neck, armpit actuators, stomach, belt, calves, shins, boots, thighs, inner thighs. This also gives a good estimate to how many pieces of armor there are, about 27

  • Go planking in that. Challenge Accepted?

  • That is the coolest fucking thing i ever did see.

  • Oh my GOD ! That's amazing !!! You are amazing :X

  • A-mazing. I haven't heard of a duct tape finish, but it turned out -really- well. I'll have to keep note of that for whenever I get around to an armor build.

  • Dude Love your name & your suit! us McLean guys gotta stick together!

  • Nice work, I'm curious duct tape is only a couple of inches wide, how do you get it to give a smooth finish on the wider sections of the costume?

  • @fom1981 Thanks! If you look at it closely, you can see where the duct tape strips meet on each surface.

  • awesome!

  • Jesus fucking Christ, that's the coolest thing I've ever seen. Fantastic work dude!!!

  • I signed up specially to comment on that. THAT IS SO IMPRESSIVE!!!

    You rock man

  • nice work dude

  • cool, can you fly?
