  • HBO dramas always kill of characters too early: Pussy from Sopranos, Stringer Bell from the Wire and Jimmy Darmody from Boardwalk Empire. Still great television though!

  • Stringer was good, but Omar is better. If Omar killed Stringer is because he had to die. However, I would have preferred Omar to kill Barksdale or Marlo instead.

  • I cried like a baby when Stringer took the first shot. Quite possibly the most interesting character, killed off two seasons too early.

  • damn now we'll never know where wallace at

  • Fuck, stringer was the boss... Well educated gangster, etc, his whole character was fucking amazing, shame he had to die

  • I always liked Stringer's character. Loved the way he went out too. Took it like a true man.

  • @helicoptersrkool Yeah very funny but I must tell you, Snoop is female.

  • "sheeeit"

    - Clay Davis

  • @CreamMonkey lol, SHEEEEIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!

Just saw that ep last night. Snoops is also another Joker, the scene where he buys that nail gun is hilarious. :)

  • just an incredible scene. so beautiful.

  • 1:03 Omar did some Jon Woo shit.

  • I know Omar couldn't wait to get to String

  • @MrRae7231 his badass for a gay gangsta

  • He took it like a man

  • This man single handedly folded the barksdale empire.

  • My face when this happened...

  • damm i liked that guy....i hope he's still alive

  • Thats for D'angelo and Bunk

  • Fuck stringer, that snitch ass mother fucker is the reason why Avons crew got fucked. Fuck him.

  • @ilovemesomechicken You musn't like Avon much either, given how he in effect had Stringer killed.

  • @CuriousWhale Stringer was being a little bitch and he gave up Avon. He also had Avons nephew killed. Im glad Avons let Stringer die, Stringer was a fucking rat

  • @Bryanspianocorner ROTFLMAO!

  • Everytime I watch this, I hope Stringer finds a way out. Smh.

  • that was mad funny he just walked in and blew that Nigga over the table

  • He had it coming. Especially when he made that bad move by putting blame on Brother Mouzone. However, I was mainly upset because this death meant I wouldn't get to see Idris Elba in a suit anymore

  • Stringer wanted it to be one way. But it's the other way.

  • stringer is the man

  • Omar sticks to his belief by not killing the fat white guy in the beginning. Dont kill anyone not involved in the game, even though he saw his face.

  • "Well get on with it mothefu-"

  • I just realized that B&B Enterprises meant Bell and Barksdale. :)

  • @mainlyy lol i know i didnt connect that the first time i watched it.

  • @mainlyy B&B stands for "bell and barksdale"? how do you know that it dosent stand for "barksdale and bell"? ;)

  • Sounds like the pigeons flew into the glass.

  • GET ON WITH IT MOTHERFUCKERS!! ~ He went out like a champ.

  • EastSide Gangsters are for hire !.. Lol

  • Stringer should have carry a gun and hired more Bodyguards !.. Just for protection, If he did ?.. He could of survived this situation ?.. No way I would of went anywhere without some kind of protection !!!..

  • 1:00

Those birds was like: "Omar coming yo!"

  • 1:01 I love the imagery of Omar's silhouette flanked by those birds...like an angel of death coming to bring justice to Stringer...

  • @gloxkk the kicker from waterboy

  • and we aint have to tortua his ass neithaaa

  • Stringer goes through the 5 stages of grief:

Denial "I ain't involved in that gangster shit no more."

    Anger "MONEY!?! IS THAT IT?!?!!"

Bargaining "I can be a better friend to y'all alive!"

    Depression "Seems like ...."

Acceptance "I can't say nothing to change y'alls minds..."

  • @SuperDoesitreallymat Very, very good analysis.....

  • @SuperDoesitreallymat fucking aye I get that! The depression stage seems like a bit of a reach but shit the other 4 are spot on.

  • @SuperDoesitreallymat

More proof that "The Wire" is legendary.

  • @SuperDoesitreallymat: Wow......that's deep. Kudos!

  • NOOOOOOO! FUCK YOU OMAR. man i dont get how omar gets away with snitching, dude snitched SEVERAL TIMES, not just once. AND how does Mouzone not kill omar for shooting him? what, u gonna forgive a mahfugga for shooting u near death?? WTF YOU OUT CHA DAMN MIND?

  • @PsyberP Because Omar saved his life, he knew Mouzzone wasn't behind what happened to his boy. They had a lot to gain by working together, a common goal.

  • @PsyberP Mouzone knew it wasn't Omar's fault he shot him, he was led to believe something that wasn't true. Mouzone was a real G he would have done the same thing. But in the end, they both had a mutual enemy in Stringer who tried to fuck them both over.

  • @PsyberP

But Omar ain´t affiliated with none of them, he´s never snitched on anyone that was on his side or anyone that thought he was on their side. He only snitched to get a) revenge on those who had done him wrong b) also get info on the Barksdale crew. Did you never once think that he could´ve given up more info than he did? That he could´ve threatened people with that pistol grip pump and get more info for the cops? But he didn´t, because he only used the cops to get vengance.

  • @gloxkk

He saved Avon with that hit. Criminal mastermind who just underestimated Omar thats all.

  • Twas a deserving end for Stringer, though it should be said he was the Wire's best villain (just as cold as Marlo), and one of the most complex characters on the entire show.

  • him and bunny say the exact same thing when they are both executed...stringer getting murdered and bunny becoming the sacrifical lamb with the police. right before they fire bunny he says "get on with motherfu" and is cut off by barrel (think thats his name) just like stringer is cut off and killed. they are pretty similar pretty in their view of the drug game

  • Everyone talking about how Stringer was a snitch. True, but Avon practically set him up. So what does that make him? It's alright to snitch if the person gets whacked, but a five year sentence, oh, that's bad.

  • @RavingDissension no it's ok to snitch if somebody has your nephew killed.

  • @devore504

But that's not why Avon ratted him out. Mouzone threatened to cut him out of the New York drugs. So, it was just business.

  • SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEIIIIIT

  • @gloxkk And for fucking his baby mama

  • When Brother Mouzone and Omar and are on both sides of Stringer Bell, it's an ironic symbol for the double life that Stringer-bell was trying to lead. On the one Hand you have Mouzone, an educated, formal, classy man, and Omar on the other, a natural Baltimore grown street gangster.

In the end, Stringer bell's manipulation and abuse of everyone to get what he wants was what got Stringer killed. I was kinda rooting for him to... , he accomplished so much and nearly changed the game.

  • stringer had that coming for a long time,he was a rat that needed to be exterminated.he was a back stabber,an opportunist,& a snitch.he had the nephew of his friend/business partner killed(not to mention fucked his girl while he was locked up).he turned on avon & was planning to give him up,but avon knew it so he had to get stringer first.string got his just deserts & who better to serve him than omar & brotha mouzone.his plan to set them on each other sure backfired.

    REST IN PISS STRINGER BELL

  • fuckin great scene from a awsom tv show yow

  • 2:02 - "My body is ready."

  • Brother Mouzone and Omar ... Best fucking team ever

  • you still dont get it do you? YOUR BWOY GAVE YUH UP!

  • You almost sympathize with Stringer in this scene. He was actually trying to go into legitimate business - and he was succeeding. Having said that, he did some terrible things to a lot people to get there. It goes to show there are consequences to our past actions. He should have completely cut tries with Avon while he was in the clink. Ironically, it was his reluctant loyalty to Avon which lead to his own undoing...

  • @catch22punk "He was actually trying to go into legitimate business - and he was succeeding."

He wasn't, Stringer had vastly overestimated his own intelligence and Gray Davis easily scammed him out of 6 figures. He wasn't built for it, the thought taking some intro to economics class in a community college elevated him to a place beyond the game, but he wasn't ready for the "big dogs," so to speak. Stringer was an idealist, but ultimately did not measure up.

  • Why O why didn't Stringer just jump out the window. Yeah he would've fallen 2 or three stories, obviously got hurt & possibly died but it would be a better option than definitely getting killed by getting shot up like he did. The second he saw Mouzone he should've jumped out the far left window, cause by that time he would've saw Omar coming towards him and would be far enough from Mouzone to maybe not get hit. Its an obvious way out. He shoulda thought of that being he the brightest one of all.

  • @ShitTot lol like jumping out that window would've made a difference,he still would've gotten killed.if that fall didn't kill then omar & brotha mouzone certainly would have.

  • damn man why they have to do stringer like dat

  • @yazodin54321 after Marlo i wanted Stringer back -__-

  • @yazodin54321 stringer is a snitch

  • @yazodin54321 agreed sir

  • @yazodin54321 Because Stringer is a scumbag!!!

  • @yazodin54321 Because Stringer did Brandon worse.

  • This is my first time watching The Wire (currently on season 3, just finished this episode) & i'm terribly sad that Stringer went out this early. Wow, what an episode. I was speechless.

  • Also, when Stringer had a meeting with Colvin in the graveyard, he gave Colvin info. about Avon's heavy artillery weapons. Stringer was sick & tired of Avon's beef with Marlo & wanted him in jail! & Avon asked Stringer about the time of his meeting so he could relay that info. to Brother Mouzourne & Omar. So, Stringer and Avon were both trying to fuck each other up, but Avon got the best of Stringer. This episode was hands down the most jaw-dropping one in the entire show!

  • This scene was stunningly good, the whole episode, actually. When Brother Mozourne visited Avon at the barber shop, he questioned why Stringer tried to kill him through Omar. Avon took responsibility for Stringer's actions & offered him money, but Mozourne reminded him that Avon is who he is because of name & reputation, not money. That scene right there made Avon give up Stringer to Mozourne & Omar. Amazingly scripted! This show deserves more recognition and awards!

  • Nigga needed to take them loud-ass shoes off!

  • Stringer went out like a true warrior.....My favorite character on the show....

  • @seekisforme5 warriors don't try to beg & bribe their way outta gettin killed.stringer went out like a snake,a fitting death.

  • Spoiler fucking ALERT

  • love the "torture his ass neither" reference to what Stringer had done to Brandon. Didn't notice that before.

  • So much can be read in to this scene. From the obvious "suit and street" destroying Stringer metaphor to Stringers last look at 1:58 to where he wanted to be, (not in Mouzone's position but as a businessman free from the drug trade) to the B&B enterprise opportunities poster at 3:02.

    I fucking love the Wire.

  • mouzne is the stupied chracter on the whole show

    shii i hate him

  • stringer was a bitch

  • Just to further this, Omar kills his one and only "innocent" guy in this entire series because he mistakes his dress for stringers. They're both wearing that tan Coat and Jeans. Its somewhat symbolic of Stringers attempt to legitimize himself. Omar confuses Stringer for exactly what he wants to be, a straight businessman.

  • @fffcccf Nah, that guy wearing the tan coat was Stringers bodyguard!

  • You ought to change the title to "Stringer's Final Scene MASSIVE SPOILER" Just for new fans of The Wire

  • @darkknight07100 lol! wouldn't that still be a pretty big spoiler! when a criminal character has a "final scene" in the wire you can bet all your worth that it's not because he's retiring.

  • fukin hate bell

  • R.I.P. String

  • "Well get on with it, motherfu--" == same thing Bunny Colvin mutters in the police briefing right before he's fired.

Took me 3 viewings to notice. That is why the Wire writers are much, much smarter than me.

  • Honestly my jaw was on the floor after I saw this. I mean I knew it was coming, I knew it was just a matter of time before Stringer got killed but still... damn!

  • Just an amazing show I hate how there is no more deff one of the best shows ever I honestly like it better then the sopranos. That's just my opinion tho

  • Just Omar.

  • There's something to be said for The Wire's writers that through 3 seasons, after seeing the two of them do all sorts of fucked up shit, i was still rooting for Stringer and Avon. Unbelievable. And as for Omar and Mouzone, i don't think you'll ever find a better duo to take a motherfucker down. What a show.

  • the symbolism in this is ridiculous, stringer running up the stairs of an abandoned building (abandoned by Avon), than as he's reaching the top he's blocked off (by Avon when he gets out of jail) and finally has to take a detour but is cut short (trying to get of the game and just missing it)

  • He wasn't annoying, he just tried to change the game; but the game didn't want to get changed.

  • stringer was annoying as fuck...hes a back stabbing fuck

  • I felt sorry for Stringer. Even after all the bad things he did, the show makes you feel for him. That's some fine writing.

  • In a more ignorant view, stringer got taken out by a faggot& a nigga in a bow tie. LOL.

  • @Adeniji4

    this just made my day

  • agreed, @dademon

  • Not enough being shot with hand gun , but to be shot with a shot gun three or four times damn, stringer had this coming from way back especially when he had that little boy and avon nephew killed that was fucked up , so him and avon turned on each other that's part of the game too brother mouzone had a code that he lived by this is why he was still around after all of those years caught up.

  • Damn, honestly.. when I started watching the wire (love it) I never knew the show had all this phycology.. which I also love and never realized it until I started reading the comments on youtube. Now I'm always looking out for it lol.

  • It was time for Stringer to go, even tho he was trying to move away from the game quickly as possible

I wish Omar took out Avon tbh

  • lol, that doves seem to be a tribute to John Woo.

  • Remember on season the first episode the other detective tells stringer I will be chalking you up one day with McNulty in the court room. Its funny how it was McNulty that had Stringer on the wire and under surveillance before he died the foreshadowing on The Wire is good.

  • WELL GET ON WITH IT MOFU

  • I just found out that this dude Idris Elba is English. It's really stunning that an English actor played this uniquely American part so flawlessly. I mean he has it down. 1000% authenticity. WOW!

  • I've always wondered what the real life inspiration for Brother Mouzone was. Everybody on the Wire was said to be at least partially based on real people, but Ive never heard David Simon talk about the character much.

  • "Well, get in with it moth...'' Until that point, I never believed they would actually kill Stringer. Real life. Best Show Ever.

  • Oh and i love how Stringer looks at Brother Mouzone for confimation when Omar tells him Avon gave him up, like "is this true?" and Mouzone just stares at him and Stringer realizes the painful truth.

  • so it just occured to me after reading some stuff (should of thought of this YEARS ago) that when Omar says, "You still don't get it, do you? This ain't about your money, bro. Your boy gave you up. That's right. And we ain't had to torture his ass neither!" He is refering to how Stringer had his boy Brandon tortured and he still wouldn't give up Omar. Very smart show.

  • @donnylorenzo the best show together with The Sopranos.NO other show can catch this two ones ...the third one is far away down!!!

  • @ffffccf good way to put it, and stringer had it coming he was a snake

  • coincidence he was killed in an abandoned building?

  • Only way Stringer could have saved his life was to get Omar and Mouzone first. He had the money to do so but like Omar said "This aint about your money bro". He did not have the heart or street smartness to get them both. He tried once and failed but it came back to bite him and cost him his life.

If he had survived and not snitched on Avon for business reasons than Marlo would be dead too.

  • Ice cold acting. Most talented American television drama ensemble ever.

  • @Fakename70 Stringer = English lol.

  • @TheTaterTotP80

Yes, I'm quite aware of Idris Elba and where he comes from, thank you. As well as Dominic West and Aiden Gillen. But, in case you hadn't noticed, The Wire was on AMERICAN television. THAT'S clearly what I meant.

  • Comment removed

  • With every nigga killed, a mother cries

  • Stringer was one of my favorite dudes in the show. But he had to get had. Indeed.

  • @NYt234 my mistake, but I still disagree that Omar breaks his code. That first guy wasn't a developer like the other dude, he was Stringer's body guard and very much part of the game. I do think that Omar eventually breaks his code in Season 5, however, when he kills Sevino (sp?) after giving Bunk his word that he wouldn't kill anymore.

  • what a waste of a nice suede jacket!

  • Was kinda upset when they killed stringer, i felt like i really got to know him as the series went on.

He was a cool cunt, he had a swagger!

1 of the best, if not the best character in the show.

  • Omar didn't break his code to get to Stringer. Stringer was part of the street, and this murder was all about 'the game'. Stringer tried to have Omar kill Brother Mouzone as part of a scam, and Omar had his lover tortured and a bounty on his head by the whole Barksdale gang. Stringer was no civilian - even though he was trying to reform the drug trade.

  • @CPomilia I'm talking about the very first guy that Omar blasts, not Stringer

  • Bell took it like a man. With alot of heart. Same way Body weant down in season 4.

  • @BENNYSIEGEL90 body was the shit

  • What's interesting is that Omar broke his code here to get String. Omar only killed people a part of 'the game' but the first thing he does is blast that poor guy. I guess he knew that might be his one shot to finally get String. Omar is a beast

  • Stringer is fucking bad to the end... miss him!

  • The word "Ass" is the closest that Omar ever came to cursing in the entire series. Ruthless as hell, loved fucking boys, but uncomfortable with profanity.

    WOW!!!!

  • @PMann9321 Nah, season 1 in his first scene, he describes the pit as "some raggedy-ass shit".

  • fair enough ...

  • love to hate sence.....wen i 1st watched the wire ..i thought stringer was the main man......but watching back time again....you relise it was avon .....sting wast man enough.....but still 1 of my fave characters ......god i miss this show

  • Best show ever. Too bad string got it. The game was better than ever with his participation

  • LOOOOL @ the white guys reaction to omar, he CRUMBLED lool

  • @TheFinalPage white black pink yellow ..i think they all wud of crumbled ..with mad man with a shotgun

  • @paddy415 my point wasnt that he was white so that white black pink yellow shit was not neccessary. i said white guy coz thats who he is i never said he crumbled because he was white...

  • check out the death stare in those eyes at 2:03

  • @StackinItToThaMoon like snoop said"bitch you gon die".

  • In the next scene showing Stringer long dead on the floor, McNalty and Bunk Moreland (cigar in hand), both sitting there discussing the situation. If you look in the background, Stringer is still breathing, someone missed the detail so I guess he can come back to life? Watch The Wire more times than once and there is a whole pile of stuff to see. Best series, right up there with The Sopranos....

  • @tomwaitsforthebus lool i always look for things like that i guess i missed that one first time round, wa jus too glad to see stringer get shot the F**** up

  • @tomwaitsforthebus wen i watched the sopranos ...i was like your never ever beating this show......then i came across the wire....omg couldnt belive how into the show i got....loved it ..rated it better then the wire......now the last week or so....ive started watching sopranos on dvd boxsets again....and i cant decide which is better

  • Avon gave String up cause Avon bleed red and String bleed green

  • "get on with it motherfucker" same thing Bunny Colvin said when he "met his fate" Both tried to change the game...both failed...

  • @mvembathegriot who's Bunny Colvin?

  • Comment removed

  • It dosen't matter how tough a person thinks he is. When someone starts shooting people run!!!!

  • I really really hated the character of Brother Mouzone, He seemed too much like a cartoon character, Which contrasted with the realness of the show. Am I the only one who thinks this? Can you imagine if Snoop and Brother Mouzone had a scene together? he would have been laughable, she would have laughed at him. I cringe everytime the character spoke.

  • Comment removed

  • @tomarod2 Although many of Mouzone's lines seemed straight out of Malcolm X's biography, look up Biggie Smalls killer composite sketch. I swear it's Mouzone.

  • @tomarod2 i don't feel the same hatred as you,but i did not like the character because as you said he wasn't realistic. I liked the idea of a somewhat puny and inteligent character still being feared by everyone because he is a bad mother fucker on the inside. They should have just toned him down a bit maybe without the bowtie and a weaker accent?

  • "ya boy gave you up..... and we aint have to coach his ass neither!"

  • Thumbs up if you think that white guy pissed his pants

  • Stringer started slippin when he started bangin D'Angelo's wife/girl. That's why say say never fuck with a man's family/wife...it all leads to bad blood.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm convinced this is how the USA got Osama

  • @chicagojoeX no doubt i think the seals burst in and osama said "dont shoot dont shoot" and we said "sorry dont speak arabic" bam bam

  • @chicagojoeX Keep dreamin' and drinking that Western-flavored Kool-Aid.

  • fuckin snitch

  • What an amazing character he was
