They didn't rush it for easy money, the bad graphis are the full extent of the DS. With all of the programming and detail that went into the PS3 and XBOX to be put in full into a handheld is amazing, what little the DS had left to offer was put in for graphics.

If the graphics would be just a bit better I would go out and buy the NDS today. There are so many great games for it but the graphics is seriously terrible. Maybe I am just spoiled by the PSP, but there are no strategy games for PSP :S

I advise you get it. Graphics aren't everything :P Nintendo DS also has Age of Kings and Age Of Mythogy on it, and they have gotten fantastic reviews.

on the ds version there are 4 ways of winning, taking everyone leses capitals, getting to alpha centauri first, earning 200,000 gold and building the world bank or by cultural victory (have the most culture)

yes, but unless youre in a senario you have to start from the stoneage. then you have to have developed, traded or found the science for it and finally build it. it takes a long time but nukes are the ultimate attack on a city. i destroyed cleopatra's city with a single missile!

True. I have it for both 360 and DS. Even though the DS version has a dumbed down graphics system by being 2D, and not as many features as the 360 version, It's a great game if your on the go since it's on the DS.

@vikkem8 Could be due to the fact that they assumed children/kids would be getting their hands on this, and may want more cartoony/friendly appearance. Either way, gameplay elements are great and you definitely get a good bang for your buck compared to most DS games.

I'm not being sarcastic. I'm serious. Its really annoying. Another thing I don't really like about this game is that its gets kind of annoying when you own like 12 Cities. As far as your question goes right from the get go I focus only on science and hunker down in my main base. I usually keep several units guarding the base. I try avoid war. Then when my tech is maxed, I build a massive army very quickly and take over the whole planet.

Okay to stop the production of a unit is get the city build a building and once it finished the building it just said no building item selected.

thanks for the advice but suppose i have built everything already. I always end up tons of extra units that get very annoying trying to move across the map. Although it is kind of fun slaughtering your way through other cities when you have that many units. I found the best way to transport units is by boat. You can put as many units you want into it and boats can move a lot in one turn.

the civ rev games were supposed to be out for jul 8 but dont hit stores until the 9th i picked my 360 version up yesterday and they JUST had it shipped in 15 minutes before i got there at 1:30

Well, the basic civ elements is still there, but there's some major changes. Combat is as you say, very intense.

they say it's dumbed down because it is, so it depends what elements you want from your civ games. Personally i also hate that the leaders speak gibberish like something out of the sims. It makes the whole thing have a very "retarded" atmosphere. But in the end, i could still be a good game. Don't know much about this DS port, tho

They are all really great. Civ4 is pretty good too, it's 3d so you can zoom in and out a lot. The Civilzation Revolutions seems rather simplified and dumbed down a bit. Which is good, it apeals to the console gamers more. But I love my PC versions of civ, and I can do lan with my friends/bros
